Re: Evil Deeds

Thanks :)

I was not questioning the suitability of the title, merely its origin. Although I will confess that I originally thought you were going to start a discussion on the nature of sinfulness.

Re: Future of Bohras

Asad, you are right. The early marriage edict that is being relentlessly preached recently is indeed a potent concoction and a particularly devious ploy by the Bohra hierarchy. One must marry early and have children early to assimilate oneself into the supposed Bohra utopia and everything will be al...

Re: Reform faith..

I do not aim to make a like for like comparison, my point simply is that the long history of human governance has taught us that people will not be taken advantage of forever. Sooner or later, there will be a change. We just have to wait it out and not have the unrealistic expectation that 'reform' ...

Re: Reform faith..

I agree. It is definitely an uphill struggle. However, the events in the Middle East and north Africa this year, shows that all it needs is one spark to start a revolution. The Bohra hegemony that controls people by fear is remarkably similar to the tyrannical regimes that have only recently fallen ...

Re: Reform faith..

Let me start off by quoting the now late Christopher Hitchens from an article he wrote about the Mormon faith in the United States: "I have no clear idea whether Pastor Robert Jeffress is correct in...

Re: Categorising the proggies

profastian, I was referring to you original post where you categorized the progressive Bohras into ten groups, not the post where you wrote "deleted". So clearly you did not understand anything "within all the jargon". The real dope is out there for all of us to see. Perhaps, Al Zulfiqar is right. I...

Re: Categorising the proggies

profastian, It is always in the interest of the majority to suppress dissent in order to forward their agenda. What you are doing here in effect is an age old technique. It is known as argumentum ad hominem . You try to slur the messenger with negative attacks, thinking that in some way, this nullif...

Progressivism-What are the goals?

The views of the Progressive Bohra movement can be summed up by the list of essays on this page: http://dawoodi-bohras.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4891 It is an admirable set of goals. However, should the ideals of Progressive Bohras be constrained to what is essentially change in regime? A lot of...
