Re: Sticky: Dawoodi Bohra's Succession of Dai Case in Mumbai High Court

notruthinreligion,

On one hand you say
I sense, you are still hopeful of a revival in fortunes for the Bohra community. I think it's not just unlikely but it's an impossibility.

and then on the other hand you say
Right now there's a lot of hatred, and focus on pointing errors, instead of an ...

Is reform possible?

I'm posting on the forum after a long time.
Reading some posts from GM bhai and some others have left me a little troubled. I sense, you are still hopeful of a revival in fortunes for the Bohra community. I think it's not just unlikely but it's an impossibility. The best that can now happen, is ...

Re: Qutbuddin's sons assaulted by Burhani Guards

Ages ago in school, I read a story about a poor little guy raised by his Grandmother. The granny was poor, old and sight impaired, yet she had saved some money to buy her grandson a gift for ramzaan. A pair of slippers she thought was ideal yet she couldn't go out to buy it and hands over the money ...

Re: Can reasoning override faith?

Until I started writing on this forum, I often felt claustrophobic and nauseous. But reading from some of you folks here makes me feel secure. To me, there is hope of a better tomorrow. None of us individually, in our own little capacity, can run a revolution. Yet, if each of us could uplift the ...

What matters most, truth or change?

Recent times have been trying and testing to any person remotely connected to the Dawoodi Bohra community. While the succession fiasco has been heart breaking and soul shattering for most bohras, it has enabled a few to do some soul searching by forcing them to ask questions and think progressively ...

Hi Salim,
I see you are firm in your belief, so am I in mine. The voice I'm referring to is not religion. All living beings on the planet with the capacity to think have some morality. A simple example is of a flesh eating carnivore that knows not to eat its own kind even when its hungry. There ...

Hi Al Zulfiqar.
Such good reading this. As a kid I used to be proud of being a Dahodi Bohra. I had muslim (Shia/Sunni) friends my age and they and their families were always astounded by my fluency with the Suras and ayats of the Quraan, practise of rozas, hygeine, etc. The innocence of youth, the ...
