Re: Marrying a Bohra

Alternative-reality - yes it may be difficult for you partaking in the misaaq and so on. You could just go through the motions and not really mean any of it as other posters on the forum have commented. It wasn’t easy for my spouse to do this but in the long run, for me, it’s made some things easier...

Re: Marrying a Bohra

I have never signed anything like this, nor have I heard anybody sign something like this. Bhai dcp, I am a bohra married to a non-bohra muslim man. We definitely had to sign this document get the signatures witnessed by two witnesses in the presence of a notary. I was informed by the notary that t...

Re: Moula tus in Paris

I can confirm what the lady from Paris is saying as true. It was the same situation in London. People were herded like sheep, and once you got to the vicinity of moula there were two queues. The salaam cover was to be deposited into a bag prior to submitting your hand for salaam to either moula's le...

Re: Waajebaat amounts

Thanks km for your answer. This resource from FD is useful. What I don't want to do is to get into business-like negotiations with an aamil and pay what I feel I ought to pay as per the tenets of my faith. Mkenya uncle, sadly I am one of those displeased pseudo bohras who'll have to toe the line on ...

Waajebaat amounts

I hope this does not sound like an impertinent question but anyone had the experience of being asked for unexpected amounts while paying waajebaat? I guess what what I'm driving is that is paying your zaakatul wajib sufficient without paying any other non-mandatory taxes? I belong to a small jamaat ...

Re: Marrying outside bohras...

Dear Alif, Having been through similar upheaval I do sympathise with your situation. Bhai Humanbeing provides good advice and he has effectively summarised my thoughts. Rest assured that you are and will not be the only one to face this predicament. There are few of us out there, LFT being one of th...
