What we are missing !!!

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

What we are missing !!!

I personaly have seen the times of 3 dai(s) and my father had seen the 2 additional Dai(s) and he used to relay stories of his visits to the Dai (s) and other dealings with kothars sahebos. Knowing all that has happened in last 5 dai(s) time I think I know a bit about what has gone wrong in our beautiful and pristine religion. I have had many late night meetings and get togethers with the 51st, when he used to call the college age students and we used to have an open discussion and Qs &As face to face within the boundaries of adab for his aala muqam. And if he saw some defect in your belief, you became a candidate for special sessions with him one on one. The closeness we felt in such meetings is undescribe-able. Slowly slowly that closeness started disappearing when 52nd took over as Dai. all the night sessions were stopped. that was a big loss. starting with the time of 52nds time the Dai has been very isolated and removed from general public. the ever increasing relatives of the Dai and the expansion of kothar has exhausted the Dai's energy. The only access to Dai even for few minutes is through a hefty payment of ziafat najwa which only the rich can afford, what about common man?? This is one reason why the common man goes crazy and nuts even at simple deedar of the Dai which kothar likes to interpret as the love for the Dai but it is nothing but the outburst of emotions that we saw the elusive person which is know to us as Dai, nothing else while this is happening the rich are calm and quiet in their nests knowing well that they don't n eed to scream and yell Mola Mola as the hoi polloi u they can get the access anytime they want. If the dai and kotharwalas think that it is the love then why so many circles of security around the Dai? Also now the jamea has gained much more status and prestige and now we have only 3 classes of people 1) very rich 2) jamea educated 3) the rest hoi polloi(s). and no one cares or caters to the 3rd category. My dad used to say they did one rupiya salaams to the Dai and sometimes nothing. but try that now and you will be thrown out so hard that you may end up a mile away. If I have given my misaq to a Dai that means I have given my life in his hands and he should be available to all momins without money in hand. nowadays eveen with a thick envelope of najwa in hand you do salaam or kadambosi and then grabbed by collar from the back and forcibly moved out of the way to make room for the next guy with another thick envelope, you can't even have 2 words with your mola who you have handed over your jaan. this is very scary development. but their greed dictates it.
with the importance of Jamea now even 2 or 3 years in jamea qualifies you sit above any old shaikh of the hoi polloi in majlis and in namaz and they are preferred over old shaikhs who support the jamat financially for many years and still do, whereas these jamea drop outs don't contribute to anything financially labeling themselves as khidmatguzars. In olden days all aamils were faqih ul jayyed as a minimum but now due to the prevalent practice of nepotism all the relatives of Syedna are appointed aamils even in very big jamaats and they have all these jamea educated working under him, writing their vaez and vasilas, and these incompetent aamils are very thin skinned and can not tolerate even a unintended slight. We all want to stay in this pristine and beautiful religion but we have no place to take our grievances, if you write a letter to al vazarat hoping it will go to Syedna, but sadly the people surrounding the Dai and his office see it first and faxes it back to your aamil even before it gets to the dai, and aamil unleashes so much punishment on you that you want to get out of the religion. so poor hoi polloi is caught into a catch 22. Bottom line of all that I have said is the Dai has become too distant from his followers and needs to get back close to us on his volition without a requirement of moneys or najwas. May b I am dreaming.

Please write your own ideas and thoughts here about what are we missing in this beautiful and pristine religion of ours.

Money-worship is what our religion has been turned into.

There are only two flavors from this family. Look for the third group for the change of flavor, also accountable for all incomes and out goes.

@Kaka Akela ... When you say "our beautiful and pristine religion", I hope you mean "our beautiful and pristine community". Our religion (Islam) has always been / is / will always be beautiful and pristine. The self-proclaimed heads of community have copyrighted, monopolised and distorted it to suit their selfish needs.

What we are missing?

Well i think we are missing the basic principle of ISLAM which says Love and respect for everyone.

I think people dont realize that inorder to obtain salvation Doing good deeds as written in quran and said by rasulallah is more more more important than praying 5 times or reading quran or performing any x,y,z religious activities.

Each and every religion was born to cater well being of humanity but the problem is people forgot or should i say dont understand the purpose behind the religion and has involve themselves more into rituals acts.

Thanks to the religious leaders of each sectors who because of their vested interest had given least priority/importance to the purpose of religion.

Another couple of things that we are missing are creativity and individual philanthropy. I remember when I was young there were so many writers, poets, ICS or IAS officers and many magazines and there was no requirement to get raza for writing . but now all that as disappeared due to this choke hold of raza for everything. Also when I was applying for college admission there were so many philanthropic organizations of Dawoodi bohras that you were sure to get some financial help and I did with no strings attached. but now all those are absorbed in the saifee foundation under the threat of ex-communication, and now nobody gets any scholarships. if you do get some pidley amount from kothar then you have to sell your soul to them for it. Everything is now tied to get raza which finds an angle to praise dawat and dai otherwise you don't get raza and this kills creativity. Now we can't even name our children without asking for a name from Kothar.

Actually, you can do pretty much everything without any raza. You are just too scared to. Tyranny normally thrives on fear. Stop being afraid. And these tyrants are easy to defeat. They have no guns.

I too remember having such late night meetings alongwith my family almost 3/4 times a week which was discontinued after the 52nd Dai came to power.

I remember how a staunch abde who was extremely close to the 51st Dai was influenced by Bahai faith and although the Dai tried his best but he could not stop him from leaving Bohraism and converting to Bahai faith.

This was a deliberate effort by the Dai himself who adopted the policy of "Demand and Supply"......... The lesser the supply, more is the demand and with more demand comes more money !!

There seems to be a correlation between religiosity of a society and poverty. Some reasons that I could discern:

1. Religions and their institutions take away the surplus money, time and energy of their followers, which could otherwise have been put to more productive use in terms of both material and intellectual pursuits. so much fund-raising and so many schemes(scams) and so much coercion to donate, it has become un-bearable and mind boggling.

2. Religions promote the existence of a huge class of parasitic human beings (almost 5000 bhai/bensabs), the priestly class / caste, who are not productive.

3. The priestly class whose only purpose in life is to destroy people's confidence in themselves and use that to create fear. This destroys the confidence of the populace in their own ability and who become willing puppets.

4. Religions and their institutions actively resist questioning and promote rote learning. This destroys the scientific ability of the populace and leads to stagnation. Used to be only the Dai was never questioned for his actions but now it includes all aamils and the whole kothar.

5. Most religious organizations have a poor work ethic, because fatalism is the norm and prosperity is believed to be due to the largesse of a deity or luck, not hard or smart work, or the blessings of the current dai

6. Expansion and proliferation of Rasputin Jamea robots, who are so thoroughly brain-washed about Dai being same as Rasulullah SA, that they go berserk if anyone utters any anti-dai remarks or even questions any of his off the cuff remarks. and these Rasputins immediately brand this guy a munafiq, shutting up all others with the fear of getting branded as munafiq.

+1.
Religion, a man made crutch.

Has taken millions of lives fighting over whose religion is best.

What we are missing is the DEEN and its meaningful propagation. 51st. - the mastermind - borrowed money from loan-sharking Surti Bohras and vowed that he will become rich on the backs of Abdes. That became his Mantra and his progeny's. Together they made it into their religion. Wherever you look they effuse flagrant and vulgar display of wealth.

In their quest to acquire more they have sold off trust and wake properties, established absolute control on all gallas, instituted iron-clad rules to extract maximum wajebaat, zakat, salaam, salaam, etc. They wallow in money and sinfully display it with first-class travel, motorcades with police escorts, mesmerizing their followers with bogus maujiza, phoonk nu pani, and other 'waheyat' stunts.

Have the abdes ever posed to ask themselves what happened to the Deen Allah Karim, Nabi-e-Karim (SAW) and his Imams. Have the Abdes ever posed to reflect why 9/10th of all waez zeros in on the shahadat and purjosh matam of Imam Husein (SA). The deliverers are all illiterate in the knowledge of Deen. There is nothing else in their repertoire. And they claim that they will vouch for us in the presence of Allah Karim.

Where are the glory days of the past where waez was a informative discourse on past Imams and their struggles, achievements, their nightly ventures to distribute food and medicine, etc.

Kaka Akela and others, that is what we are missing. Deen, which strengthens our resolve, fortifies us in our struggles, gives us hope in times of despair, lets us leave everything to Allah Karim.

The struggle among the two factions have reached a pinnacle of obscenity, the quest is for money and only money. Wishful thinking on my part when I wish one of them would say: "Yeh daulat bhi lelo, yeh shawrat bhi lelo...".

Allah is Raheem and the holy Prophet is Kareem. Rahim is one who gives without asking and Kareem who gives when he sees some one in need.

Bro MKenya :

I totally 100% agree with you. I have said the same thing many times in the past, our pristine deen has been sacrificed for Moola. Thats all.
