Bohras for Change

A few activists have come together to form a movement called "Bohras for Change". They have realised that most Bohras will crib and complain, but nevertheless pay up when asked. There are many fora where they come and collectively crib and complain. This forum is one such attempt and the most successful one. There are social media groups, like Facebook, WhatsApp etc. Most of them are disheartened and doubt that anything will happen, because they lack the spine to stand up and want others to do it for them. A few brave souls who have stood up have been left alone to face the flak.

A few educated, old and young Bohras have come together, not as complainers but activists to redeem the community, collectively and democratically. Unlike the religious debates here, which suit the establishment in dividing and ruling us, Bohras for Change, rise above ecclesiastical debates to bring all those who have been born in a Bohra family, together for the betterment of the community. They have an interesting manifesto.

Manifesto:

We were born in a community called the Dawoodi Bohras and love it. In the last century, this community has been usurped by a family and made into a slave of the head of that family. It is now, no longer a community of people joined by commonality of language, culture or values. It is now defined by accepting slavery and has become a club of dues paying members, with members having no say in the matters.

We the Bohras for Change, would like to reclaim our community and heritage. We think that the community is not the private property of any individual or family. It is a collective of like minded individuals who come together in peace. Everybody contributes voluntarily for the benefit of the common good. We rejoice in our good days and support each other in our bad days. Our religious beliefs are our individual matter and we shall not impose it on others.

Our first and primary objective is to provide support and a safety net for all those individuals, who would like to emancipate themselves by coming out of the slavery WITHOUT LEAVING THE COMMUNITY and make them feel that they do not struggle alone.

So all you folks out there who share the common plight, are invited to join this movement through our FB page/group for which link is posted below.

This is great news. bohras are basically peace loving community , supporting one another and rejoicing in their happiness. After all we are human beings and how dare a mafia kothar enjoy the fruits of our labour. Are we so scared and feared by this mafia regime that we cannot even enjoy the fruits of our own labour among our children, family and friends? Keep up the good work, "Bohras for change" and more power to you. After all misaak is nothing more than a swearing in ceremony stating that ones soul now belongs to the big mulla. This is absurd. Just like F.G.M. misaak should be completely abolished. The soul belongs to none other than Allah. Even Rasulillah did not like it and planted 300 date trees to free Salman farsi from slavery.
