The question I ask is, do the abdes not know that every one has to die one day. Have they not seen the present dai's father dyeing on a hospital bed in London and have they not seen his grand father die too in Matheraan. And can anyone live upto judgement day?
How about first asking if the dai even wishes to live forever in this harsh world with the upteen number of problems he has to deal with.

I thought Dai is supposed to do Dua for his follower's well being since he has direct contact with Imam and Imam can expediate.

Nobody can live forever but you can do things can be remembered forever.
