What is been taught in Jamiyah today?

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

In the time of our 43rd Dai Sayedna Abde Ali Saifuddin Saheb these books were taught to obtain certain degree of Mulla and Shaikh with a clear written instruction that “The Mashaikh should be selected based on their scholarship, piety, and religious devotion. Thus selected Mashaikh first raised to the degree of Mukasir then to the post of Mazoon and then to the exalted post of Dai.

We all know that today’s Dai or Mazoon or Mukasir or even various Shaiks have not gone through this prescribed course and training. Therefore my question is that: Does any one attached to the Saifee Daras (Jamiyah Saifiyah) Surat or any one out from there know what is been taught today?
Only knowledgeable persons should reply. Please refrain from casting adverse remarks, my request.

frog,

I dont blame you for this, This is actually the result of 20+ years of brain-washing by syedna and his thugs.

All you blind followers have learnt just one thing from syedna and that is LAANAT, LAANAT and more LAANAT.

I pity you

Dear Friends,
I was in Zanpa Bazar Surat very near to Jamiyah in Feb 2005 for World Reformist Conference and used to take my breakfast in a Muslim Hotel 'Mohammadi' outside Jamiya where lots of male and also female students come for eating. I talked them in groups and individually but they could not tell me "What is taught in Jamiyah." May be they were afraid to disclose. May be they did not know what to say. I was there for 11 days doing this exercise but could know nothing.
The community spends a lot of money on Jamiyah and hundreds of Bohra youngsters get admitted there every year. They remain there for years at the age when they can learn something fruitful outside and their carier and life. Is it not fair to know what happens to them in those years they spend in Jamiyah? After all it is seat of higher learning. But few of the Amils and Mashaikhs who claim to be teachers in Jamiyah were found by me so ignorants of our religion and faith that I decided to know what is taught in Jamiyah.
Please treat this seriously.

Brother Insaaf: as you said, that zaboor and torah are taught in jamea, I wonder where did it come from. Torah is in hebrew, only a few jews in upper hierarchy of jewish religion have their hands on. The available version of Torah is highly edited one.

According to Dr. Brown's Literary History of Persia, "since it was compusary for Imam, Dai and his associates to have through knowledge of other religions and worldy science too the principle books of all religions were translated in Arabic by sholars during 14th Imam Muiz-billah time (952-975 A.D.). All impotant books from different parts of the world were purchased for Cairo Libraries at a tremendous cost. The Fatimite Library of Cairo contained 1,000,0000 volumes elegantly transcribed and bound."
So I suppose the Torat must also be translated then.
I think the Torat is also called old testament and I have read it in English.
Brother Pro-Pig,
Please see our Imams and earlier Dai like Sayedna Hatim whose sholarship and literary contributions are remarkable.

Br. Insaaf

I appreciate your knowledge about fatimi daawat...
I really want to know how can you expect to have knowledgeble Shiekhs and Mullahs when they have been given this title not based on thier education background but based on payment of a sum .....I know many mullah nkd and even Shiekhs they used to be heavy drunkard and now by paying some cash they have become mullah or shiekh. If you ask them to read Quran they won't be able to read it properly forget about the meaning...

I think you are expecting too much from our community members...PLEASE LET THEM ENJOY 2 KHARAS AND 2 MITHAS..
