The top-most Sheikh of the Mombasa Jamaat, Sheikh Shabbir Dawoodbhai, Vice Chairman of the Jamaat
(second-in-command to the Amil Quaser BS) - and brother of Sheikh Walijee of the London Jamaat was just shot dead near his home in Kizingo, Mombasa.

Just came back after visiting the scene of crime. He was still lying on the drivers seat with a bullet in the heart. A bullet thru the windscreen and left window did not get thru. The guys were waiting outside the apartment building and drove thru with him and shot him after he had parked the car.

A lot of men and women were crying openly. The Mombasa jamaat scene will change dramatically, may be for the worse.

What a shocking news.He was a good friend of my brother(knew him since 1960's).He was very prominent member of Mombasa Jamaat.His deeds will be judged by Allah.May Allah judge him mercifully as all of us are sinners . Innah Lill lahe wainna iilayhi rajeuon.

Saif, as you visited the crime scene, can you comment if it was an organised thing or was it just a mugging/vilence incident?

Apparently it probably seems like a "supari" (a hitman or a hired gun!!) as there appeared to be no robbery or mugging. Nobody knows yet?? The Sheikh was a prominent businessman as well.

During the five months, there have been two murders from our community, in or around their homes, in Mombasa, Kenya. The last one being of another innocent businessman Mr. Shabbir Kitabwala who was gunned down and killed inside his own home in presence of his family. Also killed at the time was another robber who was hit by a stray bullet from one of his own gun members.

May Allah subhanahu protect the innocent citizens from these types of calamities and goondas, whatever their tribe, race, religion or ideology etc....Ameen

I knew him too and found him to be rational person who many times got people out of sticky situations when disputes arose with Bhaisaheb and Amils.

He was one who even if he benefited from a dodgy dawaat but did it without stepping on peoples toes or victimization.

A rare occasion when resitance fighters and opposition give credit to Abde.

May Allah forgive me to use this incident but it is in the interest to protect his Islam that I use this as an example and prevent from Shirk !

Mr Dawoodbhai was an extreme devoted Abde but why did he have to die this way , where was his Diais barakat, dua and moajiza the countless wajebaat and ziafats this man did.

Wakeup Abdes how much more signals you need that Diais has no power or control over your fate cannot protect you from harm...in your bayans you vilify and mock the opposition when calamity befalls them and say it is their sins but how do you explain this Abde's tragedy ?
