Bohras Proudly Say We Were Brahmins. Now, Who Are Brahmins ?

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

WHO ARE THE BRAHMINS?
The word Brahmin incorporates all the upper-caste Hindus of India. They claim that, because they were made from God Brahma's head, they are the chosen people of God. Worshipping a Brahmin is akin to worshipping God incarnate. Serving a Brahmin and offering him alms is like serving God himself. These are in the beliefs that are included in the minds of all other people, especially in the low caste Hindus. As a result 5% of the Indian population have psychologically enslaved the other 95%.

The Brahmins are the "ARYANS" invaders of India who entered the country thousands of years ago via the Khyber Pass. Over the centuries they have established themselves firmly on Indian soil by ruling over, and enslaving, the country's original inhabitants.

More on Caste System.
The most significant feature of the Hindu social system is what is called 'caste' under which the people are divided into various groups. The status of an individual in the society is determined by the caste in which he is born. A Hindu is born in a caste and he dies as a member of that caste. There is no Hindu without a caste and being bound by caste from birth to death, he becomes subject to social regulation and tradition of the caste over which he has no control.

A person born in a caste carries the name of that caste as a part of his surname [Swami Dharma Theertha, History of Hindu Imperialism, Madras, 1992, p. 187.]. The division of the people into various castes is said to be eternal so that no act of virtue or vice in this earthly life is enough to make any change in the caste or social status of a man or woman. The caste system of India has generally been regarded as an absurd, unhealthy social phenomenon, without parallel elsewhere in the world.

On the top of the caste hierarchy is the Brahman and at the bottom is the Untouchable (Dalit) and in between are the Kshatriya, the Vashya, and the Sudra in a descending order. According to the Hindu scriptures, the Brahmans have been sprung from the mouth of Brahma (Hindu god), the Kshatriyas from his arms, the Vashyas from his thigh and the Sudras from his feet.

Broadly, Hindus are divided into two groups: caste Hindus (also varna Hindus) and low-caste Hindus. The former includes the Brahman, the Kshatriya and the Vashya who are the descendants of the fair-skinned Aryan invaders and the latter includes the Sudras, who are dark in skin and are the offspring of the original inhabitants of India. In this group is also included the most unfortunate Dalit who is outcaste because he falls outside the original fourfold groupings. He is untouchable because his touch is bound to pollute the other castes and that is why he must always remain at a sufficient distance from them.

The fourfold division is not the end of the caste system; the community is subdivided into thousands of sub-castes (gotras). According to a survey undertaken by the Anthropological Survey of India during 1985-92, those who are called Hindu are divided among 2,800 unique communities. The so-called low-caste Hindus are officially divided into three broad groups, namely Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. According to this survey, these groups are subdivided into [Scheduled Castes-450,] , [Scheduled Tribes-461], and [Other Backward Classes-766] distinct communities respectively [Dalit Voice, 15:4, p. 20.].

The great distinctions of caste are to be maintained not only in the earthly life, but also after death. According to Markandaya Purana, after death, the virtuous Brahman goes to the abode of Brahma, the good Kshatriya to that of Indra, the worthy Vashya to that of the Maruts, and the dutiful Sudra to that of the Gandharvas [John C. Oman, The Brahmans, Theists, and Muslims of India, Delhi, 1973, p. 50]. Apparently, the Untouchable (Dalit) does not deserve any place in any heaven, may be because of his untouchability.

ORIGIN OF THE CASTE SYSTEM
'Caste' is a Portuguese word, used by the Portuguese as equivalent of 'varna' (a Sanskrit word, which means 'colour'). They used this word to designate the peculiar system of religious and social distinction which they observed among those who are called Hindu. Caste originally was a colour-bar, and in India, as later in America, served at first to separate free men from slaves. Gradually, the Brahmans made it a religiously ordained social fabric for the Hindu society. Manu, a Brahman, gave in his book, Dharma shastra, details about the caste system.

When the fair-skinned Aryans invaded India, about two thousand years before Jesus Christ (pbuh), they defeated the dark-skinned indigenous people, Dravidians, who were the founder of the Indian Civilization. The Aryans subjugated them, learnt many things from them and built up another civilization which came to be known as the Ganges Valley or Hindu Civilization. To perpetuate the enslavement of the original inhabitants of India, the Aryans created the caste system, and thereby excluded them from their own society with the name of Sudra (which means slave).

In the words of S.V. Theertha, "When the ancient priests set themselves up as an exclusive caste of Brahmans in order to establish their self-assumed superiority, they had to inflict degradation on all other Hindus (i.e., original Indians) and press them down to various layers of subordination. They had to keep the people divided, disunited, weak and degraded, to deny them learning, refinement and opportunities of advancement, and permanently and unalterably to tie them down to a low status in society. The Hindu social organization based on hereditary castes was evolved by the Brahmans with the above object and was enforced on the people with the help of foreign conquerors." [Theertha, p.1 64.]

CASTE DETERMINES DUTY
In Hindu community, the basic duty of every individual is determined by his caste. The Brahman is the rightful possessor of the Veda and is the chief of the whole creation. He has the exclusive right to become a priest. It is through his benevolence that other mortals enjoy life.

The Kshatriya is described as the dispenser of justice, particularly as the one whose duty it is to punish law-breakers; he exercises the civil power and to his tender mercies the Brahmans could hand over law- breakers. He has to see that the various castes attend to their prescribed duties; but in doing this work he must abide by the decisions of the Brahmans.

The Vashya comprises the merchant, the agriculturist, and the keeper of cattle. His chief work is keeping cattle.

The Sudra has been created to serve the other three castes (i.e., the fair-skinned Aryans). "He is spoken of as a slave, his property, as well as his person, being at the disposal of his master." [Wilkins, Modern Hinduism, London, 1975, p. 247.]

The Untouchable (Dalit) is to perform the most unpleasant tasks: cleaning lavatories, carrying night soil, skinning carcasses and making footwear.

SOCIAL, ECONOMIC & OTHER ASPECTS
The social, economic and other aspects of life are controlled by the caste regulation. Caste differences are largely invoked while arranging marriages and eating together. For rural Indians, castes shape almost every aspect of their lives: the food they eat and who can cook it; how they bathe; the colour of their clothes; the length of a sari (cloth worn by a woman); how the dhoti (cloth worn by a Hindu man) is tied; which way a man's moustaches are trimmed and whether he can carry an umbrella. Everything is determined by caste and nothing is left to chance.

Caste regulations formulated by Manu are discriminatory in nature; they favour the Aryan Hindus and discriminate against the so-called low-caste Hindus. In teaching the duties of the 1ow-caste people concerning marriage, Manu declares that a man aged thirty may marry a girl of twelve, and a man of twenty-four years may marry a girl of eight. He, however, is very particular about the marriage regulations of Brahmans. A Brahman must avoid marrying a girl whose family has produced no sons, that which has thick hair on the body, or is afflicted with hereditary disease. Let him choose for his wife a girl whose form has no defect, who has an agreeable manner, who walks gracefully like a young elephant, and whose body has exquisite softness [ Ibid., p. 196.].

Punishment for offence is also determined by discriminatory caste regulations. A crime against a man of his own caste by a Sudra is venial offence; but a similar offence committed against a man belonging to so- called higher caste is proportionately greater. If a Sudra through pride dares to give instructions to priests concerning their duty, hot oil will be dropped into his mouth and ears. A high-caste man having intercourse with a Sudra woman is to be banished; a Sudra having intercourse with a woman of the superior castes is to be put to death. Whatever a Brahman's offence, the king must on no account put him to death; he may, at the most, banish him, allowing him to take his property with him. Further, in case of wrongdoing against him, a Brahman need not approach the civil court, he is free to take vengeance upon the offender [See Wilkins, 1975, pp. 239-40; Oman, p. 52.]

Inferiority of The Dalit
The so-called Dalits (Untouchables) are the most pitiable victims of the obnoxious and pernicious caste system. Manu has little to say about them. He affirms that the members of three castes, the Brahman, the Kshatriya, and the Vashya, are twice-born; the fourth, the Sudra, once-born; there is no fifth.' All others are outcastes. The common name Dasyas (slaves) is applied to them all. [Wilkins: Modern Hinduism, London: 1975, p. 263]

The treatment accorded to the Dalit is simply inhuman. According to Manu Smriti, 'Outcasted persons have no share in inheritance.'[ John C. Oman, The Brahmans, Theists, and Muslims of India, Delhi, 1973, p. 47.] The orthodox Brahmans still believe, if the shadow of a Dalit falls on them, they are polluted and will have to purify them by sprinkling over themse1ves water from the holy river, the Ganges [F.M. Sandeela, Islam, Christianity and Hinduism, Delhi, 1990, pp. 69-70]. 'You may breed cows and dogs in your house,' wrote Mr. M.C. Raja. 'You may drink the urine of cows and swallow cowdung to expiate your sins, but you shall not approach an Adi Dravida [i.e., original Indians: Dalits, Sudras, tribal people].

These people are still denied the use of public wells and tanks and at the same time stigmatized as unclean. They are still kept out of schools and colleges maintained by public funds and at the same time despised as ignorant and illiterate. They are still Shut out from temples, and yet branded as ungodly and unfit to associate with. For access to public roads and even for spaces to bury the dead, they have to depend much on the capricious benevolence of their caste-Hindu neighbours. [Swami Dharma Theertha, History of Hindu Imperialism, (Madras: 1992), pp. 184-85, quoted from P. Chidambaram Pillai's Right of Temple

DIVISIONS AMONG THE BRAHMINS
In Southern India the main divisions among the Brahmins are the Ayyars and the Ayyangers. A thorough study of these two groups will give the reader the correct knowledge of their gods, writings, families, culture and above all, the centuries old concealed rivalry between them for power and influence. The Ayyars are, by physical composition, the more direct descendants of the Aryans invaders. They have fair complexions, long noses and other physical features characteristic of Germans.

The MANU SMRITI (BIBLE OF HINDUISM) says:
1.A Brahmin is born to fulfill Dharma. Whatever exists in the world is the property of the Brahmin. On account of the excellence of his origin, he is entitled to all. All mortals subsist through the benevolence of the Brahmin.
2.Ignorant or learned, a Brahmin is still a great deity.

TO BRAHMINS - THE THREE WORLDS AND THE GODS OWE THEIR EXISTENCE.
Dr Ambedkar says the cardinal principles of Brahminism are six:
1.Graded inequality between the different classes.
2.The complete disarmament of the Shudras and Untouchables.
3.The complete prohibition of education to the Shudras and Untouchables.
4.Ban on the Shudras and the Untouchables in occupying places of power and authority.
5.Ban on the Shudras and the Untouchables in acquiring property.
6.The complete subjugation and suppression of women.

"Inequality is therefore the official doctrine of BRAHMINISM" (IBID - 204).

"Devadhinam jagat sarvarm Mantradhinam ta devata Tam Mantram Brahmandhinam Brahmana nam devata"
Meaning:
"The Universe is under the power of gods, The gods are under the power of the mantras, The mantras are under the power of the Brahmins, Therefore the Brahmins are our gods."

Dr Keshav Baliram Hegdewar, a Sithpawan Brahmin, was the founder of R.S.S. Today they have grown very powerful and are threatening the unity of India. Many of us are not aware of the policies and principles of R.S.S. e.g.:

•Women cannot become members of the R.S.S.
•The R.S.S. opposes the women's voting right.
•Only SITHPAWAN BRAHMINS (Blue eyed people - generally identified by low caste Hindus as "Cobras") can become top leaders of the R.S.S.
•It opposes Communism, Sikhism, Christianity and Islam.
•It's main principle is that the Aryans (Brahmins) should rule India.
•It is an Anti-Dravidian movement.
•All sorts of terrorist training are given to its members.
•It supports "Sati" (Widow burning).
•Its aim is to make Sanskrit the national language of India,
•It specializes in creating rumors and brainwashing people.

The Achievements of R.S.S. ---

•The Assassination of Mahathma Ghandi. (The reason for his assassination was that he preached inter-communal harmony and equality amongst people, including the low caste Hindus.
•The attempt to kill Dr Ambedkar by poisoning him.
•The attempt to kill Mr Kamaraj Nadar.
•The attack on Mr Karpoori Tagore (this was because he was from the barber profession and community).
Recently the R.S.S. has been recruiting retired police and military officials to take charge of their massacres.

SHIV SENA

"Garv se kaho hum Hindu hai" (Say proudly we are Hindus!) is the latest call of Shiv Sena. It is not in the name of India and its welfare, but it is in the name of Hindu terrorism. Balasaheb Thackery's (the founder of Shiv Sena) first aim was to force the Malayalis, the Tamils and the Kannadigas to leave Bombay. As this did not attract much support, he switched his hatred to the Sikhs, Christians and Muslims. Oh Hindu! instead of fighting the Sikhs, Christians and Muslims, why don't you fight the caste system which is clearly oppressing you?

THE PROVINCIAL ARMED CONSTABULARY (PAC)
This is one example of Militant Hindu Police (pro RSS) working under the banner of the Indian Police Force. So far not even a single non-Hindu member has been recruited to this group which receives higher pay and better facilities from the Government of India. Mr Khuswant Singh has the following to say in the Hindustan Times on this subject:

"It is no longer any secret that the loss of life in both Delhi and Meerut was predominantly Muslim and the majority of victims were killed by bullets fired by the police and the Provincial Armed Constabulary. Our government controlled media tried to camouflage this ugly truth."

A private independent enquiry revealed that the RSS Chief (Ex D.I.G. of police) had masterminded the Meerut massacre and executed the plan.

THE AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL REPORT ON "MEERUT" MASSACRE
Reuters reported the following on the 19th November 1987:
"Amnesty International has concluded that there is strong evidence that members of the Provincial Armed Constabulary were responsible for the Muslim massacre and the deliberate killing of unarmed civilians during the riots and following days. There is also evidence to suggest that at least five Muslims arrested in connection with the rioting died in jail mainly as a result of injuries inflicted upon them after arrest."

The report added that witnesses had charged PAC officers (all Brahmins and High caste Hindus) of herding Muslims into trucks and later shooting them dead (raping the Muslim ladies, in most cases). Their bodies were then tossed into canals and rivers.

THE NEWS BLACKOUT BY THE BRAHMIN MEDIA
All the Brahmin controlled newspapers and Government media have wholeheartedly blacked out the Amnesty International Report. It was only published by the Western media.

PUNISHMENT FOR LOW CASTE HINDUS

Apastambha Dharma Sutra III, 10-26, says:
The tongue of a Shudra, who spoke evil about a BRAHMIN should be cut off A Shudra who dared to assume a position of equality with the first three castes was to be flogged. If a Shudra overheard a recitation of the Vedas, molten tin was to be poured into his ears; if he repeated the Vedas his tongue should be cut and if he remembered Vedic hymns, his body was to be torn into pieces.

MANU, 167-272 says:
If a Shudra arrogantly teaches Brahmins Dharma, the king shall cause hot oil to be poured into his mouth and ears.

Again, MANU, 167-272 says:
Let the king never slay even a Brahmin though he may have committed all possible crimes.

With all references to Vedas and Puranas, it would be appropriate to question: "How fair is the system of administrating justice?" Well, according to these Holy Books if a Brahmin commits a sin, he is forgiven, but on the contrary if a low caste Hindu commits a sin, he has to feed twenty Brahmins in order to expiate or erase his sin. Would you call this a fair and just system of justice?! Who was responsible for the assassination of Mahathma Gandhi -the father of the Nation? Obviously you know the answer. Mahathma Gandhi preached and practiced intercommunal harmony, equality among people, including the low caste Hindus whom he named as Harijans (which means children of God). All human beings are (according to Gandhi) the children of one God and, therefore, all are equal.

APARTHEID AND BRAHMINISM

In India the 5 % Brahmins rule over 95 % of the Indian population. In South Africa 15 % Whites rule over the 85 % Black race. Does India then have any right to point an accusing finger at the apartheid policy of South Africa when the worst kinds of discrimination are being practised in India?

We talk "democracy" and "equality before the law" but keep a third of India's 800 million people as Untouchables, unseeables and unapproachables!

THE MEDIA AND THE BRAHMINS

Who has the major share of magazines/newspapers published in India? The Brahmins/RSS of course! According to a recent survey their share of the media is approximately 81 %. The following are the well known Newspapers that are owned by the Brahmins, not to mention so many others which are financed less by the Brahmins to blow their trumpets.
•The Indian Express - 93 % employees are Brahmins
•The Hindu - 97 % employees are Brahmins
•The Times of India - 73 % employees are Brahmins
These Brahmins have invaded both All India Radio and Television. Most of the time the Brahmins and their programs are on air.

THE WEALTHY BRAHMINS

MANU VII, 133 says that:
"Brahmins should not be taxed and should be maintained by the State."

ABOUT LOW CASTE Shudras - MANU XMRITI X, 129 says that:
No collection of wealth was to be made by a Shudra, even though he may be capable, for a Shudra who has acquired wealth would pain a Brahmin, and that Brahmins may appropriate by force the property of the Shudra.

PANCHVANISH BRAHMIN 3-1/1 I says:
Even if a Shudra acquired wealth, he must always remain a slave. His main job is to wash the feet of the higher caste.

TULSIDAS, A Brahmin in his Ramayana writes:
Even if a Shudra is learned and virtuous, he should not be given respect and honor.

When the British left India, almost all the industries owned by them were taken over by the Brahmins. So much so that today they own about 60 % of the leading Industries in the country.

Remember their (Brahmin) population is only 5% of the total population of India.

JUST 5 % (BRAHMINS) CAPTURE OVER 60 % OF THE POSITIONS

1.Loksabha - 48% are Brahmins
2.Rajyasabha - 36 % are Brahmins
3.Governor/L.G. - 50 % are Brahmins
4.Secretary to Governor/ L.G. - 54 % are Brahmins
5.Union Cabinet Secretaries - 53 % are Brahmins
6.Chief Secretaries to Minister - 54 % are Brahmins
7.Private Secretaries to Minister - 70 % are Brahmins
8.JS/ Additional Secretaries - 62 % are Brahmins
9.Vice Chancellors to Universities - 51% are Brahmins
10.Supreme Court Judges - 65 % are Brahmins
11.High Court Judges/ Addl. Judges - 50 % are Brahmins
12.Ambassadors - 41% are Brahmins
13.Chief Executive of Public undertaking:
(i) Central - 57 % are Brahmins
(ii) State - 82 % are Brahmins
(Courtesy: Voice of the Week, Oct. 1989)

In other fields also:

Banks - 57% are Brahmins
Airlines - 61 % are Brahmins
IAS Offices - 72% are Brahmins
IPS Office - 61 % are Brahmins
Radio & TV - 83% are Brahmins
CBI, Customs & Central Excise - 72% are Brahmins

This then is the employment situation in India. The cream of the jobs goes to the five percent Brahmins. Do you get a fair salary for your hard work? Probably not! Because your paymasters are Brahmins. Remember! Your children and grand children will suffer the same fate, or worse, if you don't free yourself from the control of the Brahmin.
Since independence, India has been ruled only by Brahmins. All the Prime Ministers (except V.P. Singh) have so far been Brahmins

LITERACY – THE PEOPLES' RIGHT

Here is the aphorism of the Brahma-Sutras:
Shravana, adhyana, arthapratishedhat smriteh ca (Brahma-Sutras 1.3.9.38)

Meaning:
The smrithi orders that shudras must be prohibited from hearing, studying and understanding the Vedas.

MANU 162-272 says:
If a Shudra arrogantly teaches Brahmins, Dharma, the king shall cause hot oil to be poured into his mouth and ears.

India is the only country in the world where one race has made education their exclusive monopoly. The average Indian literacy rate is 30 % but the Brahmins are almost 100 % literate!

Out of the total Indian doctors in the U.S.A. 67% are Brahmins. Instead of serving the poor masses of India, these doctors have opted to work in rich America and other Western countries.

Brahmin representation in the fields of engineering and law is 53 % and 57 % respectively. In the field of education their teachers and professors make up more than 51 %.

They are motivated by the claim that they are the Master Race on this earth from the day of Ashoka, They have educated themselves generation after generation and today a Brahmin means an educated person.

THE BRAHMIN CONSPIRACY

The conspiracy and intrigue of domination over other human beings has been the main objective of Brahminism all along. Brahminism, an Aryan concoction of human and insatiable lust for hegemony, sex and money, sought to rule the ignorant and deprived masses in the name of religion.

This is very visible from the content, tone and message of the holy books, written and perpetuated in the name of religion by the Brahmins. How can these books be called the word of God? They contain the most exotic form of pornography, the most depraved norms of behaviour and the most unjust and ugly system of life based on extortion, cruelty and blood thirst hunger for domination over others.

The Hindus are not Brahmins and the Brahmins are not Hindus. At least this is evident from the books written and perpetrated by the Brahmins themselves. The Hindus are the original inhabitants of Hindustan, the very people who were the true architects of the Indus Valley civilization which was considered to be one of the best examples of human societal development in the entire history of the human race.

The barbaric Brahmins came from the wastelands of the region beyond the Himalayas and destroyed the great monuments of culture and civilization and pushed the real inhabitants of India into slavery.

Slavery is the message of the Brahmins "holy" books concocted by them. Just as the Jews divided humanity into Jew and Non Jew, so has the Brahmin. The whole world is classified in these books as Brahmin and Non Brahmin. The non Brahmin is to remain internally a slave unto the "master" who has dominated Indian history since he lay his hand on it.

We must break the chains, once and for ever. The bondage and the slavery must go. But first let us find out what these books say. On concept of democracy, social justice, secularism, politics, economics, leadership and elections are all based on the wretched caste system, an evil curse that has been spun round the necks of the innocent and deprived.

Let us tear the mask away from those evil faces, which stare at us from every nook and corner of our lives.
The intelligent reader can easily uncover the ulterior motives of Brahmins as to why they incite High Caste Hindu mobs to kill Low Caste Hindus or for creating communal tensions with other minorities ever so often. This they do in order to continue their stranglehold on state policies, so that they can manipulate them to their advantage; they don't care a damn for the nation of India.

RAMAYANA IS THE CULTURE OF ARYANS (BRAHMINS)!

Dr. Charles claims that the Ramayana is nothing but the culture and way of life of the Aryans (Brahmins) which is still having a great impact on present day India. According to Ramayana, the Aryans (Brahmins) used to drink liquor, used to eat meat, used to have many wives, and prostitution was a way of life to the Rishis (Priests) and even the gods.

The concept of "re-incarnation" or avtar is the bed-rock of the Hindu belief. Rama, Vishu, Hanuman etc ... are all believed to be avtars. But according to Hindu scholar Kshiti Mohan Sen, there is nothing in the Vedas to support this belief! Rather, it is an Aryan / Chinese concept that may have crept into the Hindu thoughts. This shakes the whole foundation of Hinduism!

"Hindus accept many incarnations of God. While some Hindus take the doctrine literally and accept figures like Rama, Krishna, and Buddha as actual incarnation, others prefer to treat it as a useful myth.

The origin of the concept of avatara is obscure. It cannot be found in the Vedas, but it is possible that it came from the Aryan settlers in Iran. The idea of discontinuous incarnations can be found in the Bahram Yasht, which forms part of the Zoroastrian corpus, where incarnations of the deity Verethragna can be seen. According to another theory, the concept originated in central Asia, as the Bahram Yasht shows traces of Chinese influence and mythology. In none of these beliefs, however, does the concept play as important a part as it does in post- Vedic Hindu thought, particularly that of the epics, Ranayana and Mahabharata.

"THE GITA AS IT WAS"

"THE GITA AS IT WAS" is a shocking book which reveals the Brahmin fabrication and forgery of the Gita. Mr Phulgenda Sinha, a Sanskrit scholar from Bihar, now settled in the U.S., has come out with the original Gita which, he says, the Brahmin have interpolated to obscure its original message. The author also gives the original text in Sanskrit and English to prove his claim. The book is available from: Open Court, La Salle, Illinois -61301, U.S.A. Price US$ 15.95.

UNSCIENTIFIC CLAIMS

Brahmins always have a tendency to claim everything in the name of SCIENCE. But the Scientists, Doctors and Specialists claim otherwise. First of all any man with common sense won't agree to the claims originated by these BRAHMINS. Here are a few examples of Brahmin-originated unscientific claims (and the true knowledge of "the gods"):

(A) THE EARTH IS FLAT
NARASINGA PURANA - Page 169 - Abithana Sinthamani - says that the earth is flat. Today it has been proved beyond doubt by the scientists that the earth is round.

(B) DISTANCE BETWEEN EARTH, SUN & MOON
VISHNU PURANA says that sun is 800,000 miles and moon is 2,200,000 miles away from the earth respectively. Astronomy has now proved that the moon is nearer to the earth, i.e. 240,000 miles and that the sun is 93,000,000 miles away from the earth.

(C) THE AREA OF THE EARTH
MARKANDEYA PURANA says that the earth has an area of 4,000,000,000 square miles. According to astronomy, it is only 190,700,000 square miles.

(D) VIBOOTHI (COW DUNG ASH)
The Vedas say that the cow is holy and should be worshipped. These Brahmins also claim that cow dung ash has medicinal value. Samples sent to a leading test laboratory in West Germany have proved this to be untrue. Even today ignorant Hindus smear their homes with cow dung.

In India people are dying of hunger. Why are these low caste Hindus prohibited from eating beef? In India cow meat is cheaper than other available meats. Instead of these Brahmins taking care of the low caste people of India they are doing their best to save their "holy" cows. According to Valmith's Ramayana, God Rama "ATE" meat. Why then have these Brahmins given up beef-eating?

(E) URINE DRINKING
One erstwhile Prime Minister, Morarji Desai (Brahmin), boasted that he was drinking eight ounces of his own urine daily (pure and fresh!) in the morning in accordance with the Vedas claim that urine has medicinal value. With the same claim today the Brahmins/RSS are drinking cow's urine as if it is a DAILY TONIC. No scientists have ever claimed that urine has any medicinal value. On the contrary it is well known fact that urine is an unwanted organic substance that the human body needs to discharge. [Editor’s note: This is just plain common sense!!!]

(F) SUN WORSHIP
The Vedas and Puranas say that all Hindus must pray to the sun god SURYA, and that if you look at the sun daily every morning with your naked eyes, your sight will improve. Accordingly many Hindus practise this act of worship; but instead of their eyesight improving, India is the country that has the most blind people in the world (2.5 million blind people and 9 million with corneal blindness).

There is no scientific truth in sun worship, and on the contrary the scientist and doctors advise everyone not to look at the sun directly with the naked eye. Who is telling us the truth, the Scientists or the Brahmin scriptures? You be the judge! The credit of India's blindness also goes to Brahminism.

(G) THE RIVER GANGES
Hindus are dumping half-cremated bodies, and the ashes of these corpses, into River Ganges for their salvation as ordered by the Brahmin scriptures. In other words, the Holy Ganges water is a human soup! This has made the Ganges water polluted and a breeding ground for numerous diseases.

Question: Is there anything similar to this water in America?
Answer: Yes there is! It is called raw sewage. And common sense tells one that sewage is not to be swam in, drank, nor utilized in sacred activity.

Still these Brahmins claim the River Ganges a sacred river - saying that nothing can contaminate it. Why then is the Government of India spending millions of rupees to clean up the dirty waters of River Ganges?

(H) THE THREAT OF THE ECOLOGY
AP News (India) dated 10-1 1-86 says: When a Hindu is cremated in India, one or more medium-sized trees are also chopped down to accompany him on the funeral pyre. Ecologists warn that forest loss seriously threatens the environment and that we have already lost 32 % of the Indian forest. Daily in India, Hindus are dying and taking with them trees. A staggering 6.43 million kilograms of timber goes up in flames each day. The annual loss is 2.35 million tons. How much pollution does a body create when it is burnt with wood? (Not only that, imagine the foul smell it causes in the atmosphere.)

"The most absurd stories of their gods are readily believed... This hurrying from one means of salvation to another can be accounted for partly by the fear that though an act of merit may have satisfied the claims of one deity, others who have not been pacified may wreck their vengeance upon them.
Interested and unscrupulous Brahmin priests make capital out of the gross ignorance and credulity of the people.... Shrine after shrine is visited and word after word is done; and yet the fear remains that some deity has been neglected who at any moment may demand his rights, or punish for neglect..... There are so many deities, and are so different in character, that almost any habit can be different in, almost any vice committed, under the impression that it is pleasing to one or another." (W.J. Wilkins Modern Hinduism)

Dear Bhai Ghulam Mohammed,

Can you please quote even one authentic literature of DB faith- where its leaders have claimed, "Bohras Proudly Say We Were Brahmins"?

Doctor saab,

Havent you heard of the story of 'Sawa Mann' (1.25 quintals) 'Janoi' (brahmins sacred thread) proudly narrated to the bohras ? Moreover, bohras take pride of an alleged fact of being brahmin converts.

Doctor saab,

I think I have answered your question in full because if the dai is a leader then years ago I have heard him narrating the story of "Sawa Mann Janoi". By the way could you confirm the said story if it all it is mentioned in any of dawoodi bohra books, I ask you this question bcoz you seem to be having lot of bohra literature with you whereas the same are not available to the rest of dawoodi bohras due to the restrictions imposed by the current dai.

GM contention is: "Bohras Proudly Say We Were Brahmins."

I inquired: Can you please quote even one authentic literature of DB faith- where its leaders have claimed, "Bohras Proudly Say We Were Brahmins"?

GM bhai, read all your answers- does you find any citation of any authentic book of DB where its leader have claimed your contention of being "proud"?

Please stop it Doctor. You have said many times on this board that you are great because you were a brahmin. Go back and look at your posts. Unless you accept that your thinking is not the same as DB thinking, then I am willing to consider that.

Doctor saab,

Iam still waiting for your answer to my above mentioned question. So is the story (as narrated by bohra dai) stating that the missionaries of bohra faith who first stepped on the Bay of Cambay (Khambat) managed to convert so many brahmins into bohraism that the 'Janois' (sacred thread) which they removed from their body, weighed 1.25 mann (1.25 quintals). Is there a mention of this incident in any bohra literature or is it just a fairytale which is used to lure and impress the gullible bohras ?

once a person becomes muslim(incase brahmins became bohras) there all identity is changed and now they are not questionalble about there past.

If anyone has a real desire to be a Muslim and has full conviction and strong belief that Islam is the true religion of God, then, all one needs to do is pronounce the “Shahada”, the testimony of faith, without further delay. The “Shahada” is the first and most important of the seven pillars of Islam.

With the pronunciation of this testimony, or “Shahada”, with sincere belief and conviction, one enters the fold of Islam.

Upon entering the fold of Islam purely for the Pleasure of God, all of one’s previous sins are forgiven, and one starts a new life of piety and righteousness. The Prophet said to a person who had placed the condition upon the Prophet in accepting Islam that God would forgive his sins:

“Do you not know that accepting Islam destroys all sins which come before it?” (Saheeh Muslim)

When one accepts Islam, they in essence repent from the ways and beliefs of their previous life. One need not to be overburdened by sins committed before their acceptance. The person’s record is clean, and it is as if he was just born from his mother’s womb. One should try as much as possible to keep his records clean and strive to do as many good deeds as possible.

Unfortunately, some muslims like our Doctor Saab keeps reminding us and himself that he is a descendent of pristine Brahmins and that is why he is a pristine Dawoodi Bohra. So if he is willing to forget about his pristine forefathers, this topic will become irrelevant.

Maqam-e-jahannum,

Who is harrasing the converts ? On the contrary it is a matter of pride for muslims when people from other faiths convert to Islam. What I was asking Doctor was to provide evidence from bohra literatures if any to substantiate the claim of dai that 1.25 mann janoi was removed, giving the impression that scores of brahmins converted to bohraism en-masse. So where is the question of harrasing the ex-brahmins, if any ?

There seems to be confusion that janoi is associated with brahmins only. Actually, all those who are "dwijas", i.e. twice born, who are part of the savarna castes, i.e. Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Vaishyas all wear the janoi.

The myth of the janoi may be true, but it does not imply that only brahmins were converted. "Mullahs on the Mainframe" a book written with the raza of the dai, mentions that bohras were converts from "vaniyas" which means that they were converts from the business castes. It also makes sense when you see the behaviour of most bohras even today.

Bhai GM,

You may refer to following authentic DB literature:
1. Munt'za Al Akhbaar (2nd Volume) by Sheikh Kutub bhai bin Suleman Ji Burhanpuri
2. Al Najam Al Sakib

If you like to read in short the key gems from books above then read book: "46 Duwat-a-haq ane hudate kiraam" by Sheikh Ahmed Ali Raj. In Bombay you can get this book from Imad bhai Attarwala (his perfume shop is opposite to JJ Hospital, opposite to Al Mas Cafe, opposite to Bakery). Or bhai Saifuddin Insaf may have a copy of it.

Doctor saab,

You have conveniently ignored by moot question as to the mention of the "sawa mann janoi" in any authentic bohra literature. I will definately try to get hold of the books as mentioned by you but in the meantime it would be appreciated if you could clarify whether the subject incident is mentioned in the books or not as you seem to have read most of the books and must be more aware of the facts.

Bhai GM, in book, "46 Duwaat-a-hq...." it is mentioned that Brahmins who belt religious-thread (jinoi) on their body were converted to DB Islam but in this book weight is not mentioned.

Doctor saab,

Thanks for the reference, now the doubt is clear with regard to the tall claims made by the 51st and 52nd dai with regard to the weight of janoi (1.25 mann) which was to hoodwink the abdes and make them believe that huge number of brahmins converted in one shot.

200 years on, Nangeli’s sacrifice only a fading memory

Nangeli gained her place in history as the woman who cut off her breasts to protest against an inhuman tax imposed in erstwhile Travancore

Many books and histories have been written about caste oppression in Kerala and the men and women who fought the injustice. Yet the story of one woman’s protest has almost faded away from the collective memory of the State.

Nangeli, who lived in Cherthala in Alappuzha over 200 years ago, gained her place in history as the woman who cut off her breasts to protest against the inhuman mulakkaram (breast tax) that was imposed in the erstwhile kingdom of Travancore.

Caste oppression

Kings of the time ensured the subjugation of the lower castes by imposing heavy taxes on them. Their wealth was built on some of the worst taxes imposed anywhere in the world. Besides the tax on land and crops, peasants had to pay taxes for the right to wear jewellery, the right of men to grow a moustache, and even the right of women to cover their breasts.

The heavy taxes ensured that the lower castes were kept eternally in debt, while members of the upper castes flourished.

“Nangeli was a poor Ezhava woman from Cherthala. Her family could not afford to pay the taxes and was in debt to the rulers,” says D. Sugathan, advocate and former MLA from Alappuzha.

“The tax collector, then called the parvathiyar, came to her house one day and demanded that she pay the tax,” he says. The legend goes that Nangeli cut off her breasts and presented them to the parvathiyar on a plantain leaf. The tax collector fled in fear, while Nangeli bled to death at her doorstep.

Her husband Chirukandan came home to find his wife lying dead and mutilated. He is said to have jumped into her funeral pyre out of grief.

“The incident happened in 1803. It created a lot of anger and the practice of collecting breast tax was put to an end here by 1812,” says Mr. Sugathan, who mentions Nangeli’s story in his book ‘Oru Desathinte Katha, Kayarinteyum’.

While Nangeli’s sacrifice put an end to one form of caste oppression, the land where she lived came to be known as mulachiparambu – the plot where the woman of breasts lived.

“Nangeli’s story is unique also for the fact that it is the first recorded instance of a man committing sati,” says Ajay S. Sekher, a teacher of English at the Tirur centre of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit. A blog post written by Mr. Sekher, who researches issues of caste and gender, has introduced many to the story of Nangeli and mulachiparambu.

An earlier generation of political leaders grew up hearing about Nangeli’s protest and its significance in Kerala’s history. Leaders C. Kesavan and K.R. Gowri Amma have mentioned her in their autobiographies.

‘Unique resistance’

“Nangeli’s story is an articulation of a unique resistance and struggle against a Brahmanic patriarchy. The tradition of such resistance by leaders such as Gowri Amma could perhaps be traced all the way back to Nangeli,” says Mr. Sekher.

The legend of Nangeli’s mutilation of her own body in protest against oppression has been handed down through generations.

Today, however, her tale is preserved only in the memories of a few old-timers and researchers. There are no memorials to her name, no books extolling her courage.

The name mulachiparambu too has been covered up, perhaps due to embarrassment. The plot, divided up between several owners, is situated near the SNDP office at Manorama Junction in Cherthala.

bhai gm,

you have initiated this thread and made several subsequent posts on it, but not once have you elaborated on your actual raison de' etre behind it. in short, what is the underlying crux and thrust of your expose' and argument.

if you will kindly permit me, i will do so on your behalf.

the bohras of india strongly believe that since they were converted from the elite brahmins, they are in a certain sense, 'entitled'. this sense of entitlement (as per their thought) extends not just to their feeling and knowing that they are much higher in rank than the lowly miyabhai's, who are crass, vulgar in speech and manners, ill-behaved and uncouth, but also far higher in upbringing than the general populace of hindus, the christians of india who are majority converts from the lowest caste hindus, sikhs, other muslims like ishnashari's, ismailis and so on. i have heard these statements from umpteen elders since i was a kid; how superior we are, we are a class apart, we are very clean, very well-mannered, we dress well, we eat well, we are the privileged, we are much more clever in business and money management etc etc. the fact that many of our bohras are generally lighter skinned than the majority population is also touted as a stock advantage, that is perhaps why we see those few dark skinned bohras amongst us as achoot and undesirable. they are relegated to the last safs in the masjid and generally shunned socially. this is of course true for all dravidians in india, who strongly and most vehemently hate the fairer skinned 'aryans' of the north for discriminating against them and treating them as inferior in looks, intellect and refinement. the bohras do this with everybody. thus I have heard from commoner abde bohras that the dai's family is 'so fair and smooth skinned, they have noor on their faces' etc, attributing some divine quality to their complexions and looks. the irony is that over the last 3 dai's, the bohras have themselves been cruelly but most cunningly divided into classes and castes. thus the bayte zaini and qasre aali are the highest caste brahmins, followed by the amils, shaikhs, aayans and mullas, as if the titles and positions seem to be bestowing additional layers of noor or miraculously elevating your caste into the next higher hierarchy. this is of course apocryphal and does not fit in with the manu smriti ideology wherein you can never change your caste even if you were to be reborn a thousand times and no matter how much good you do on this earth during your lifetime. of course, these are most clever strategems to keep the brahmins perennially on the top of the food chain, and in our case, to fool the ignorant and idiot abdes into attempting to buy a higher caste or rank by throwing money at the haramkor brahmins at the top.

i doubt that most bohras will ever admit publicly to this subtle ideology which they nurture in private, but secretly they all swell within with pride at their being 'chosen' and being superior than all the 'others'. this is of course drummed into their minds from the earliest formative stage. 'ola musalmano', 'kuffar shia', 'yahudi - nassara', 'murti pujak' and 'apne momeen', 'apnawala' and so on. it is made clear to all bohra kids that 'arey apne ewa lokon saathe sambandh nahi rakhwana' and so on.

i have socialised with hard-core high caste brahmins where i was the only non-hindu, non brahmin and despite my having grown up with them and being more than their equal, as a pack they made me feel, perhaps not deliberately, as a complete alien amongst their midst. it was very subtle and very discreet, but that is how they are. whilst the hindu-muslim riots raged all around the city, these high caste brahmins had parties where food and drink flowed freely, confident in the knowledge that the stupid bloody shudras and other low castes were doing their bidding, while they themselves were untouched, ensconsced as they were in their palatial bungalows.

the dai, his nefarious family and his establishment very cleverly and subtly propagate and promote this 'higher by birth' and 'privileged and entitled' theory among the stupid bohras who actually buy en masse' into this anti-islamic shirk. but then who says that the bohras are muslims anymore??
