Iraq : A Tragic Incident in Bohra Community.
I recieved a text message as under. Can anyone confirm if the same is true or not ?

"Sheikh Taizun Yamani, Barwaha Amil. Bomb Blast In Mumin bus, 2 killed and 4 seriously injured, Mubaraka Tours, Mumbai group. Travelling from Shaam to Karbala. Blast on Iraq side after crossing border".
Blast in Bus - 2 Bohras Died.
As per random sources,
Yesterday there was a bomb blast in a ziyarat tour bus ( of dawoodi bohras) , which was heading towards Iraq from Syria. While entering the Iraq, there was explosion in the BUS resulting in 2 deaths, one child and one man. The victims are identified as resident of sidhpur/daahod. The tour started from Mumbai. There is news that 7 more people are injured and currently r in the critical state. Suspection is that the bomb was probably planted in the bus itself.
Members from Gulf region can confirm the news (?) and throw more light on the incident.

Families mourn Iraq blast deaths, government silent
Mumbai, May 29 (IANS) While two Indian Dawoodi Bohras on pilgrimage were Sunday evening killed in a blast targeting a bus near Baghdad, Iraq, their bereaved families in Maharashtra have not yet been officially intimated by either the central government or the Indian embassies in Syria and Iraq, relatives said.
The body of one of the two Dawoodi Bohras killed in the Sunday evening blast will be buried in Najaf, Iraq, and that of the other is likely to be brought back home, family members said.
Both the families -- Kothawalas of Nagpur and Masanawalas of Pune -- said they have not received any official intimation from either the Indian government or the Indian embassies in Syria and Iraq about the tragedy.
Insiya Zakir Kothawala of Nagpur will be laid to rest in Najaf, her uncle Sajid Kothawala said Tuesday.
It is not yet clear whether the Masanawalas would bring the victim's body back to his home country or complete the last rites in Iraq.
"My brother Zakir, his wife Arwa and two daughters Rukaiya (17) and Insiya (7) were travelling by bus from Syria to Najaf in Iraq when the tragedy struck near Baghdad. While Zakir sustained some injury on his left arm, his wife and elder daughter are unharmed, but little Insiya was killed," Sajid Kothawala told IANS here.
The Kothawala family was among many others who were on a pilgrimage to the holy city of Karbala in Iraq when the blast hit their bus around 6.30 p.m. Sunday (May 27) near Baghdad.
After completing Insiya's last rites, the family will continue the pilgrimage and return home June 7, Kothawala added.
A Pune businessman, Abbas Masanawala, who was on the same bus with his family, was also killed in the blast, according to his family members.
Fortunately, Masanawala's wife Saida, daughter Lubaina Jariwala (30) and son Burhanuddin escaped with minor injuries while son-in-law Yusuf Jariwala (30) was unhurt.
While the Masanawalas live in Fatima Nagar and run a business in hardware, the Jariwalas live in Burhani Colony, both belonging to the Dawoodi Bohra community.
The Kothawalas and Masanawalas had left India May 24 for the fortnight-long Karbala pilgrimage covering Syria, Iraq and Jordan, and are booked mainly through private tour operators.

If any of the relations of the victims are reading my condolences for the death and grief, this is not in any way directed to you specifically but the pathetic policy of the dawaat.
Regarding the issue where the media believes Indian government is responsible it is wrong.
The dawaat encourages abdes to go on a risky non-obligatory pilgrimage and collects fees in the process , from the pilgrims, it is the Diai and the organizers who should be held to account to explain and compensate materially to the least for any incidences . It is also wrong for them to keep silent and stranegely we rely on an opposition website for this news.
Abdes do you not notice the hypocrisy in that when the relations of a zada is occurred there are global grieving ziarats while in this case there is low key. Even in my country when a person is killed while on national duty their is political mention.
Where is the dawaats influence in such difficult moments ? Where is Modi ? Where are the governors of Iraq who repeatedly get bribed? All the publicity is just a bunch of selfish greedy wheeling and dealing for peer and prestige.

Indian Blast victims laid to rest in Iraq
May 30 2012
Pune: The last rites of the two Indians who died in an explosion on the Syria-Iraq border on Sunday took place in Iraq on Tuesday. Abbas Manaswala of Pune and Insiya Zakir Kothawala (7) of Nagpur, both from the Dawoodi Bohra community, were among a group of Indian pilgrims travelling to the holy city of Karbala in Iraq by bus when the blast killed them.
Family members of Manaswala are raising questions as to why the bus was allowed to travel despite a “red alert” issued in Iraq. “We read on internet that Iraqi forces were on high alert for several hours following clashes between the Syrian army and rebel forces near the border. The tragedy could have been averted if the bus had not been allowed to ply in such a situation,” said Mohammed Jariwala, a nephew of Manaswala.
Jariwala said, “I got to know that the last rites of both the deceased took place in Iraq. It was not possible for us to bring the body to India, as getting a visa is time-consuming. Besides it involves a lot of money.”
Manaswala was travelling along with his wife Saida, son-in-law Yusuf Jariwala, daughter Lubaina and grandson Burhanubin, who were all injured in the explosion.
Manaswala’s nephew said their family members in India could not go to Iraq for the last rites owing to problems in procuring visa. He said he is in touch with the injured Yusuf Jariwala over phone.
“Getting visa to Iraq takes about eight to 10 days. We are praying that the injured get well soon. They should get the best of doctors for proper treatment. We came to know that some of the injured are in a critical condition,” he said.
He said that so far no calls had come in from the Indian and the Iraqi governments. “We are being helped by the Bohra community in Iraq in this time of grief,” he said.
Insiya Zakir Kothawala (7) of Nagpur was reportedly buried in Najaf, Iraq. She was travelling with her parents Zakir and Arwa Kothawala and 17-year-old sister, Rukayya. Zakir was injured in the left arm, while Arwa and Rukayya escaped unhurt.
Manaswala owned a hardware shop, Universal Bearing and Tools, in Pune’s Ganesh Peth area and lived in Fatima Nagar. Insiya was a student of Class II in Nagpur’s Centre Point School. The two families had left on May 24 for the pilgrimage through a private tour operator.

Re: Iraq : A Tragic Incident in Bohra Community.
Why is he blaming Govt of India,Even US Govt has issued Red Alert for travel to Iraq and Yemen but many Bohras even from USA travel to Yemen and Iraq because they say Moula will have their Saya and he guarantees their safetyThe tragedy could have been averted if the bus had not been allowed to ply in such a situation,” said Mohammed Jariwala, a nephew of Manaswala.
It is being hypocritical of Jariwala to blame Governments instead of blaming those greedy Kothari Travel Agency
And so far no mention of this tragedy has been mentioned on any of the Abde websites eitherHe said that so far no calls had come in from the Indian and the Iraqi governments. “We are being helped by the Bohra community in Iraq in this time of grief,” he said.

Abde websites are one of the many marketing medium used by kothar to propagate their fanfare and used only for self glorification. Incidents like these do not fall in line with the website's protocol and would infact have a negative impact. The abde websites are for kothar, of kothar and by kothar, average abdes are not part of it !!SBM wrote:And so far no mention of this tragedy has been mentioned on any of the Abde websites either
Re: Iraq : A Tragic Incident in Bohra Community.
I think Syednasaheb should discourage Bohoras from going to Syria and Iraq. He is concerned about people riding scooters without helmets but he is not concerned about his people going to terrorist infested countries? What kind of rationale is this? Who in the right mind would encourage people to go to Syria and Iraq for Ziyarats? Now, please don't tell me Syedna is not aware of people going to these places. He is well informed because people ask for Raza without which they do not take a step. Somebody in Saifee Mahal had better wake up.
Re: Iraq : A Tragic Incident in Bohra Community.
Why should any one be stopped from going. History shows us that people were being killed or persecuted for going to Aqa Husain's Ziyarat but that never deterred anyone from the ziyarat. So why should we stop now. Any one who goes is very well aware about the condition in these countries and if they are not willing to take the risk they will not travel. Till few years back stampede was a normal thing in Haj, did any one stopped.

You are right nobody can be forced even in USA when US citizens are prohibited in going to countries which are on State Dept list of undesirable destinations like Cuba,North Korea,Iran and Yemen people still travel . The only difference is then you can not expect Government to be responsible in any tragic event. In this case the family of the person who died blamed Govt of India for not providing any support system as well as Iraqi Govt
Iraqi Govt can not provide security to its own citizens why one would expect them to do for others
Yemen and certain areas in Pakistan have the same danger but people should go on their own without expecting and Travel Operators should inform people with these perils instead of saying "Moula ni dua si baddhu saro and safe chey" those untrue statement should be said

Br SBM,
Anguish of the person should be understood who has just lost a family member. They are not asking for assistance in traveling, that they are doing on their own. His issue is when some untoward incident has happened he didnt get much help from Embassy. But i have read in some article the guy was all praise for Indian and Iraqi govt and local DB's for the help he received. I think their are two families who have lost family members so might be different perspective of different family.
When i went i very well knew what kind of dangers are there and willingly took the risk,While in Kerbala local Markaz informed us well in advance that we should not travel to Baghdad because that area is prone to attacks, and no one should travel alone or venture out deep in Kerbala city.
