Imam `Ali [a] said,
"Whoever sets right his inward self, Allah sets right his outward self. Whoever performs acts for his religion, Allah accomplishes his acts of this world. Whoever's dealings between himself and Allah are good, Allah turns the dealings between him and other people good."

Imam Ja`far as-Sadiq [a] said,
“Every feigned righteousness is polytheism. One who works for the people, his reward is with the people. One who works for Allah, his reward is with Allah.”

Imam `Ali, Lady Fatima, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn were with the Messenger of Allah [s] when he turned his face towards them and started weeping.
`Ali [a] asked, "Why do you weep, O Messenger of Allah?"
The Messenger [s] said, "I weep because of what shall be done to you after me."
`Ali asked, "And what is that, O Messenger of Allah [s]?"
The Messenger said, "I weep over the strike on you on the side of your head, and the slapping of Fatima on her cheek, and the stabbing of al-Hasan in the thigh, and the poison which he will be given to drink, and the killing of al-Husayn."
So the Ahl al-Bayt all wept together. Then, `Ali said, "O Messenger of Allah! Our Lord did not create us except for trial."
The Messenger replied, "Rejoice, O `Ali, for Allah has confided in me that none shall love you except a believer and none shall hold malice for you except a hypocrite."

Imam al-Husayn [a] had two rings. On the first, it was inscribed, "There is no god but Allah, prepare for the meeting with Allah." On the second, it was inscribed, "Surely, Allah fulfills His command."

Imam Hasan al-`Askari [a] narrated that the Prophet Muhammad [s] said,
"When Allah created Adam and Eve, they strut through the Garden and said, 'Allah did not create anything better than us.' So the form of a young lady appeared to them, and no seer had seen anything better (more beautiful) than her. She had a brilliant light that blinded sights. She had a crown upon her head, and earrings in her ears.
They asked, 'O Lord, who is this young lady?'
Allah said, 'This is the form of Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad, the mistress of your descendants.'
So Adam asked, 'What is this crown upon her head?'
Allah said, 'This is her husband, `Ali b. Abi Talib.'
Adam asked, 'What are these earrings?'
Allah said, 'Her sons, al-Hasan and al-Husayn. They were present as shadows two thousand years before I created you.'

some thing really new to read.

A woman called Zaynab the Liar used to claim that she was Zaynab the daughter of `Ali b. Abi Talib [a].
She was brought to the Caliph al-Mutawakkil (d. 861 CE), and he said, "What is your lineage?"
She said, "I am Zaynab the daughter of` Ali [a]. " She said that she was carried to Syria, and was put in a desert belonging to Bani Kalb, so she remained in their midst.
So al-Mutawakkil said, "Zaynab the daughter of` Ali is from the past, but you are young. "
She said, "The Messenger of Allah [s] prayed that my youth be renewed every fifty years."
So al-Mutawakkil called for the faces of the family of Abi Talib, and he said to them, "How do you know she is a liar?"
They said, "No one can inform you of this except for the descendant (grandson) of ar-Rida [a]."
So Imam `Ali al-Hadi [a] was ordered to attend, and he was asked [about her], so he said," Surely, in the descendants of `Ali [a] there is a sign."
The Caliph asked, "What is it?"
The Imam said, "Lions do not attack them. Put her among lions, and if they do not attack her, then she is telling the truth."
So the Caliph took his word and starved a lion for three days. Then, he called for the Imam [a] and released the lion. When it saw him, it surrendered itself to him and wagged its tail. The Imam did not react to it. He then climbed the roof and sat with al-Mutawakkil. Then, he went back down, and the lion was still wagging its tail, until the Imam came out and said, "The Prophet [s] said, 'The flesh of my children has been made forbidden upon the lion.'"
Zaynab the Liar said, "O commander of the faithful, by Allah Allah, he wants me to be killed!" So she mounted a donkey and began calling, "Verily, I am Zaynab the Liar!"

Imam `Ali [a] said, in a sermon,
"Know that the loss of anything of this world will not harm you, if you have guarded the principles of your religion. Know also that after the loss of your religion nothing of this world for which you have cared will benefit you. May Allah carry our hearts and your hearts towards the right and may He grant us and you endurance."

A man was with Imam ar-Rida [a] in Mecca, and he said to the Imam, "I want to travel to Medina, so write a letter for me to [your son] Imam Muhammad al-Jawad [a]." The Imam smiled, and he wrote the letter.
As the man arrived in Medina, he became blind. The servant of Imam al-Jawad [a] came out to him, carrying the Imam in a cradle.
I gave him the letter, so the Imam [a] said to the servant, "Open it and unfold it", so he opened it and unfolded it in front of him.
The Imam looked into it, and then said to the man, "How is your sight?"
The man said, "O son of the Messenger of Allah [s], my vision is gone, as you see."
So Imam al-Jawad [a] stretched out his hand and wiped the man's eyes, and his vision returned to him in a better condition than before. The man kissed his hand and foot, and left him, being able to see.

Imam ar-Rida [a] said,
"Imamate is the growing root of Islam as well as its lofty branch."

Imam Zayn al-`Abideen [a],
"Narrate to the people that which they will understand, and do not burden them with that which they cannot handle, for they would turn away from us."

Imam Ali [a] said,
"Every container gets narrower when something is placed in it, except the container of knowledge, which expands instead."
