Are all believers in God automatically idol worshipers?

All believers in God are following an entity that they only know by what other people have said about that God. Few, if any, know their God from apotheosis or first-hand information.

That fact makes whoever that God is, an idol.

It must be so, as what is believed is not a known or real entity. Believers have no real or personal knowledge or experience of their God. All a believer can have is faith in whichever God they are idolizing based on what others have said.

Do you, as a believer, recognize that you are an idol worshiper?

DL

It depends upon how one chooses to define an idol. The Islamic definition of idol is more aligned with the traditional definition of idol which is a representation of God in some material form.

mamaji, you do not have to worry about surah 56:22, 23. Those rewards are not for people like you. They are for people who believe in the Quran as it was revealed and follow it as the prophet (saw) followed it. Not a bikini interpretation of it.

He was a prophet. He didn't need technology. He had the most powerful angel at his disposal. Seriously man, I don't know why I am wasting my time discussing these things with you. It is like arguing with a 7 year old who has the brain of a 3 year old!! It doesn't matter how many I convert. The prophet (saw) was told clearly in the Quran that converting people is not his job. His job is simply to deliver the message.

are u delivering the message or fighting the infidels to deliver the message?
first come out of ur confusion.
if it is fighting, then no use crying victimisation or persecution of muslims everywhere coz --that is sheer hypocrisy
coz in war u loose some-win some.
if only delivering then must be ready to hear and allow other side too even if false.
but u dont want others to propagate their religions and authenticating scholars who justify tafkiri killings--again sheer hypocrisy.
guess where u stand?

Right, so you should be ready to lose at the hands of the muslims. That is what is going to happen in the end. And no, it isn't going to be half chaddi muslims like you, it will be the muslims who follow the Quran and the Sunnah of the prophet (saw).

Because it is victimization. Plain and simple. Only Muslim haters want muslims to quietly suffer. They shouldn't. they need to rise up and prove to the world that the secular nations that are persecuting muslims is because they know the muslims are going to be victorious very soon.

I have been taking that description a bit further and internalizing it as that is where idolization occurs.

From the Oxford Concise Dictionary of World Religions (2000 Oxford U. Press) p. 266
"Idolatry (Gk eidolon image + latreia worship.) The attributing of absolute value to that which is not absolute, and acting toward that object, person or concept as though it is worthy of worship or complete commitment. In a religious context this most usually mean treating as God that which is not God, and in particular acting toward a representation of God as if it is God. Thus idolatry is associated with the worship of idols, as though these are the actuality of God. In that sense, idolatry is extremely rare, since most religious worshippers are well aware that the signpost is not be be confused with that which is signified." [Discussion of the attitude to idolatry in Judaism and Islam follows.]

All the worship is directed to the concept that people create in their minds.

You do not idolize Mohammad or Allah?

You do not consider either a supreme or absolute being?

Why in particular do you think people hate about Muslims?

I know that some do not like your ideology because they think it immoral but that is not the same as hating Muslims.

Why in particular do you think people hate about Muslims?
The same reason a poor man hates a rich man. Especially a poor man who has the power to steal from the rich.

You have it backwards.

In this case, it is the morally rich who hate the morally poor Muslims.

Why do they see Muslims as morally poor?

Because Muslims say Jesus was a prophet that they respect, yet do not do his first moral tenet of loving your neighbor and doing unto others as you would want done to you.

Muslims ignore the Golden Rule.

Not sure which muslims you are referring to. I love my neighbors. Even though they have attacked and destroyed the countries I love.
