Saudi Wahhabis call for destruction of shrine of Zaynab (as)

Unread post by sixfeetunder » Sun Jul 29, 2012 1:45 pm

Amid an escalation of the terrorist attacks on citizens and government buildings in the Syrian capital Damascus, the extremist Wahhabi clerics in Saudi Arabia have called for the destruction of holy shrine of Lady Zaynab.

The shrine is located in the neighborhood of Sayyida Zainab, which has seen rise of violence and terrorist attacks over the past few days.

On Saturday, youths armed with sticks and knives, formed committees to protect the holy shrine of Lady Zainab, Press TV reported.

According to the Arabic website of Al-Alam TV, the move is designed to encourage sectarianism inside Syria and pave the way for a full-scale civil war in the country.

Lady Zainab is the daughter of first Imam Ali (PBUH) and granddaughter of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). She is regarded as a very noble figure by Shias around the world.

Syrian troops on Saturday regained control of most parts of the neighborhood after government forces launched an all-out offensive against the armed rebels across the capital.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011, with the Syrian government saying outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorists are the engine behind the violence.

What type of Islam are these clerics following. What will they achieve in destroying holy shrines. It is sad...

I assume that Bohras do not acknowledge this shrine in Syria as legitimate?

I know that we do ziyaret of Sayyeda Zainab in Cairo, not Syria.

Can someone please clarify.

Also, I believe that majority Shias do not accept that the head of Imam Husain is buried in Cairo, but we do. So where do Shias believe that Imam Husain's head is buried?

Yes you are right according to Bohras, the roza of Janabe Zainab(as) is in Cairo, whereas as per shia 12vers it is in syria.

Regarding the return of head of Imam husain(as), it is believed by shias and sunnis to be in Karbala with the body, which is different from the beliefs of fatimids.

"aliabbas_aa" has 'liked' this topic. It shows that he supports these Wahhabi fanatics and doesn't care if riots break out and innocent men, women and children are killed. On another thread, he was advertising a lecture on 'Muslim unity' to be held in his local Wahhabi mosque. These are hypocritical double standards. With a rose in hand, there is always a dagger hidden under their sleeve. There is no such thing as 'unity with Muslims' in Wahhabi minds. 'Peace' and 'Unity' are just words used to distract people from their violent mindsets.

The Head of Imam Hussein(A.S.) is in the Holy City of Karbala with the Body.

As usual this is just another example of false innovation invented by Burhanuddin and his mafia kothar in an effort to manipulate the Bohri Public.

In Damascus she was later on freed from Yazid and allowed to return to Madina. Later on Sayyida Zaynab again moved with her husband to Damascus, where she died. (Or she went to Cairo and died there (a shrine is built there as well), or she is burried in Madina - as there are different narrations and opinons).

DAMASCUS (Syria): President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday visited the Shrine of Hazrat Bibi Zainab (RA) and offered Fateha.

http://pakistantimes.net/pt/detail.php?newsId=7554

Hazrat Zainab's shrine in the town of 'Sit Zainab', Damascus, the capital city of Syria (Shaam), has granted her name to the town awarding it more beauty, spirituality and fame. The holy tomb of Hazrat Zainab (pbuh), is a haven and refuge for the disheartened ones from around the world.

The shrine with regard to its elegance, magnificence, splendor, grace, nicety, decoration and beauty is the most beautiful and marvelous not in Damascus, Syria (Shaam) alone but in the Arab and Islamic world.

Note: In Cairo, Egypt there is another Rauza/Ziyarat dedicated to Bibi Zainab (sa) and the place is known as Masjid-e-Zainabia. This Bibi Zainab is the daughter of Yahya, Yahya bin Hassan, Hassan bin Zayed, Zayed bin Hassan, Imam Hassan bin Imam Ali bin Abu Talib (pbut).

There are conflicting versions from mainstream shias and bohras with regard to the burial of the head of Imam Hussain (a.s.) :-

SHIA VERSION

Several Shia and Sunni sources confirm the return of Husayn's head to his body in Karbala. According to Shaykh Saduq, Husayn's son, Ali ibn Husayn, took it back from Shaam and returned it to Karbala.[25] Fetal Neyshabouri and Majlesi have confirmed this in their books, Rouzato-Waisin and Bihar al-Anwar respectively.[26][27] Sharif al-Murtaza also mentions this in his book Rasaael.[28] Ibn shahrashub verrifies Sharif al-Murtaza stating the same thing about head of Husayn. He also narrates Shaykh Tusi that this event, i.e. returning the head to the body, happened forty days after Ashura and it is for this reason, there are specific rituals for this day.[29] This day is recognized by Shias and is known as Arba'een. Similar statements are documented by famous Shia scholars e.g. Ahmad ibn Tawoos[30] and Muhaqeq Helli.[31] Among Sunni scholors, Abū Rayḥān al-Bīrūnī in his famous work The Remaining Signs of Past Centuries has stated that Husayn's head was returned to his body and was buried altogether on 20th of the lunar month of Safar (Arba'een).[32] Similar statement is mentioned by Sunni scholar Zakariya al-Qazwini, in his book ʿAjā'ib al-makhlūqāt wa gharā'ib al-mawjūdāt.[33] Qurtobi narrates from Shias on the return of the head to the body on Arba'een.[34]

BOHRA VERSION

It was the Abbasid emperor Al-Muqtadir (d. 295/908), an enemy of the Ahl al-Bayt He attempted many times to stop the pilgrimage to the head, but in vain. He thus tried to completely eliminate the sign of the sacred place of Ziyarat; he transferred the head of Husayn to Ashkelon (located 10 km (6.2 mi) from the Gaza Strip and 58 km (36 mi) south of Tel Aviv, Israel) in secrecy, so that the pilgrims could not find the place.

It was the 15th Fatimid/Ismaili/Dawoodi Bohra Imam Abu Mansoor Nizar al-Aziz Billah (d.386 AH/996) who traced the site of the head of his great-grandfather through the office of his contemporary in Baghdad, in 985. In the city of Ashkelon, Israel, it remained buried at "Baab al Faradis", for a long time (about 250 years up to 1153).

Commander of the Fatimid forces Dai Badrul’jamali (d. 487/1095) conquered Palestine, during the period of 18th Fatimid Imam Ma'ad al-Mustansir Billah (d. 487/1094). The Fatimid Imam assigned him to discover the head of Husayn ibn Ali. The Dai, in 448 (A.H) discovered the place of Raas al Imam al Husayn.

Under the instructions of the Fatimid Imam Ma'ad al-Mustansir Billah, Badrul’jamali constructed a mosque and donated several huge properties to meet the expenditure of the 'Trust', so as to maintain the affairs of the Mashhad the place of burial. He also prepared a wooden minbar (pulpit) and placed it in the mosque, where Raas al Imam al Husayn was buried. This minbar bears the historical account which is engraved in Arabi Fatemi Kufic script about the Raas al Imam al Husayn.

After the 21st Fatimid Imam At-Tayyib Abi l-Qasim went in to seclusion, his uncle, Abd al Majid occupied the throne of the Fatimid Empire. Fearing disrespect and the atrocities of the traitors and enemies, the Majidi-monarch, Al-Zafir, ordered the transfer of the head to Qahera. The W’ali of the city of Ashkelon, Al Amir Sayf al Mamlaka Tamim along with the custodian of the Mashhad, Qazi Mohammad bin Miskin, took out the buried casket of Raas al Imam al Husayn from the Mashhad, and with due respect and great reverence, on Sunday 8 Jumada al-Thani, 548 (31 August 1153) carried the head from the city of Ashkelon to Qahera, Egypt. Syedi Hasan bin Asad (Hir’az, Yemen) discussed this event in his Risalah manuscript as follows: "When the Raas (head) al Imam al Husain was taken out of the casket, in Ashkelon, drops of the fresh blood were visible on the Raas al Imam al Husain and the fragrance of Musk spread all over."

Historians, Al-Maqrizi, Ahmad al-Qalqashandi, and Ibn Muyassar (d.1278) have mentioned that the casket reached Qahera on Tuesday 10 Jumada al-Thani (2 September 1153). Ust’ad Maknun accompanied it in one of the service boats which landed at the Kafuri (Garden). Buried there in the place known "Qubbat al Daylam" or "Turbat al Zafr’an" (currently known as "Al Mashhad al Husain", wherein lie buried underground thirteen Fatimid Imams from 9th Muhammad at-Taqi to 20th Al-Amir bi-Ahkami l-Lah). This place is also known as "B’ab Makhallif’at al Rasul".

If by Ali bin Husayn you mean Sajjad than he managed to travel to Shaam , get imprisoned by Yazid, get freed, get the head of Husayn back to Karbala in 40 days? :?

Dear Sajjad Bhai, The following words coming from you on such a muqaddas post ?
"Oollu Ka Paththa"
Please refrain from such words.
I have lived for many years in the middle east and have been invited and attented numerous Itna Ashari majlises. In Urdu as well as Arabic. The Arabic ones ,much of it I would not understand because of the language ,but nonetehless shared the emotions.
There is not much written evidences available of the post karbala period. There are many Itna Ashari shia ulemas who beleive the shrine of BIBI ZANAB to be in Cairo like the Ismailee branch of Shiaism. So there is a dispute in this. There is also new evidence that Bibi Sakina was not matyred in the prison of Shaam but lived till an old age and had also re married. But one thing is for sure that a girl child was matyred. This fact is well documented and it was perhaps Bibi Sakina or her sister. Infact the death of the girl child awoke the inner feelings of the people of Shaam and this forced the tyrants to release the prisoners , otherwise the citizens would have revolted. So the possibilities of the Cairo being the shrine of BIBI ZAINAB are huge. Miracles are happening in both places.
Regarding the Holy head of Imama Hussain.
It is not possible to be brought back in 40 days as it was used as a trophy to show people the might of the tyrants and was paraded everywhere. There is written evidenc. There is an old mosque in Bait al Muqaddas where on the borders of the Qibla there is a shahadaa written in kufic script. The shahaada is from a slave of so and so giving shahadat that the Head of Imam Hussain is buried in Cairo in so and so place. Since the script is in Kufic not many people are able to decipher it.
You choose to beleive the majority view so be it. Agree to disagree with respect on this matter.

The architects of the war on Islam
by Maniza Naqvi

This is addressed to Muslims who think that Islam is under attack: They are right. Just take a look at the images of the House that Abraham built, the Ka’aba and see how progresses that ancient attack. Just look at the transformation of the environs of the Ka’aba and the Haram Shareef into a garish resort rivaling Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Just look, at the transformation of the sacred environs of the Haram Shareef into a shopping mall and Disney world--to understand the war on Islam and who is responsible for waging it. Just look at this and see how Islam has been trafficked as though it were a bonded slave, dressed up in bells and baubles to be whipped and sold in the marketplace. Who is it, Muslims should ask themselves, who has undertaken to do this and has destroyed and defaced the symbols, the reminders, the graves, the homes of the Prophet and his family? And is this okay with them that this should happen to their most revered place of worship? This Ramzan Muslims should reflect on the image of the “renovations” in Mecca around the Ka’aba and the Haram Shareef and ask themselves about the war on Islam.

Yes there is a war on Islam. The responsibility for this destruction lies with the House of Saud. This war on Islam continues and has been waged from the birth of Islam 15 centuries ago. And it has been strengthened in the last century thanks to oil. The Saudi so called royal family of 5000 persons and its grantees of oil wealth and its courtiers, princes, princesses, sheikhs and sheikhas—all of them, barring none-- have done their utmost to insult, humiliate and destroy the religious belief systems of 1.2 billion Muslims and their holiest of shrines.

The Saud are not from Hejaz. Yet they claim as a birth right their custodianship of Islam itself. The birthplace of the Prophet and Islam is Mecca. The cities of Mecca and Medina are in Hejaz.

The Saud are not from Al Ahsa (here). Yet, the Saud’s wealth comes from oil in the province of Al Ahsa. Ever since they have gained ownership of the entire Arabian peninsula and the oil, thanks to the British in the early 20th century, and to the Americans, they have succeeded, fourteen centuries after the Prophet's death in restoring their gods to Mecca. And they have also financed militaries and security apparatuses that keep their hold on the oil secured. The majority population of Muslims in Al Ahsa where the oil is located do not share the traditions of Saud they are Shi’a.

The Saud, are from Najd. The Saud are from the Banu Hanafi tribe which is one of eight or ten major tribes in the Najd. The word Najd means highlands. The Najd has a harsh climate and it was mostly barren and isolated at the time of the Prophet and till 1932 when the fortunes of the Saud changed. Riyadh was the largest settlement in Najd which after 1932 was declared the capital of Saudi Arabia by the Saud who became its rulers. Most tribes there were nomadic and even those that became sedentary originally were nomadic. Harsh terrain and a harsh climate made the nomadic way of life one that was focused on survival of all the animals in the flock including humans. The rules and laws of the tribes were therefore in harsh adherence to the purpose of survival and procreation. Men, women, goats, sheep, cows and camels were equally tattooed, covered, circumcised, birthed culled, cut and slaughtered as was seen fit to keep the tribe strong and safe from the harsh life. Following a leader was critical. Dissent could mean a wrong decision and endangering the entire tribe. To question the tribal leader’s judgment could mean leading the tribe into peril, away from water or straight into the path of disaster. Dissent had to therefore be harshly and swiftly and publically punished for the sake of survival. Insular behavior was rewarded and risk taking was not.

Because of their isolation, the tribes of Najd spoke dialects particular to their own tribes, an Arabic not influenced by elsewhere in Arabia and therefore with variations from the Arabic spoken for example in Hejaz. Each tribe spoke and understood its dialect of Arabic. The written word was a luxury of Hejaz and its cities. The tribes from Najd, once a year ventured into Mecca with their livestock for the annual event which was primarily a livestock market and for the pilgrimage to their gods at the Ka’aba.

The Saud can claim no other cultural or human achievement except surviving in the cruel rocky barren mountainous terrain and giving sanctuary to Al Wahab in the 18th century and his ideals called Wahabism. The Saud’s kingdom of Saudi Arabia created in 1932 at the time that oil was discovered in Bahrain and Al Ahsa is based on these Wahabi ideals. They also had an admirable knack for expediency, which foolishly, was referred to as hypocrisy, by revolutionaries or idealists to their own peril,. These tribes of the Najd only made alliances when it became expedient for them to do so. They agreed to an alliance with Mohammad but not allegiance to him or to Islam.

The Saud have held the Haram Shareef hostage. Just look at how it has been transformed by them. The Saud’s alliances and allegiances to themselves and their belief systems is evidenced amongst other things by their treatment of the Ka’aba. The Ka’aba today seems as though it were a project of revenge of avenging their own family’s ancestors for the humiliation they felt when the Prophet more than 1400 years ago returned victorious from his exile in Medina, into Mecca and went straight into the Ka’aba and destroyed their stone idols, their Gods, which they adored. Today, it seems that they the Saud are embarked on the project of destroying what the Prophet did.

The Saud are from the place from where the Prophet at the birth of Islam faced continuous opposition. It was from Najd that Islam faced its greatest threat. Islam’s history is replete with references to this opposition to Islam from Najd. The Koran itself has references to this opposition and disbelief: Chapter “Repentance” refers to them: “The village Arabs are more obstinate in disbelief and hypocrisy and impervious to ordinances revealed to His Apostle by God; yet God is aware of everything and is wise.” and “Some of these rustics take whatever they spend in the way of God as a penalty, and wait for an adverse turn in your (addressed to the Prophet) fortune.”

There are four shahria interpreters in the Sunni sects Imam Hanafi, Imam Shafaee, Maliki and Humbali. In a hadith or saying of the Prophet quoted by Imam Maliki : Abdullah ibn Umar Radi Allahu anhu said, “ I saw the Messenger of Allah Salla Allahu ta’ala ‘alayhi wa Sallam pointing at the east ( Najd) and saying, ‘The cause of dissension is here. The cause of dissension is here, from where the helpers of shaytan arise.’ (Imam Malik’s: Muwatta, Hadith #54.11.29). The Hadith or the saying about the Najd (here) Also other hadith quoted here. Muslim scholars Sunni and Shi’a would be united on the veracity of this saying of the Prophet.

Muslims should question themselves as to how could an isolated tribe from a region historically opposed to Islam rise to power and take control of Ka'aba and Islam. Muslims should question themselves about the relationship between this rise and the discovery of oil in Hejaz in 1932. When was Saudi Arabia created? 1932. And when did Wahibism begin to rise from a belief in a nowhere land mountain range in Arabia to spread across the globe? 1932. Muslims should ask themselves who are these custodians of the Ka’aba and what right do they have to occupy it and to have absolute and total control and ownership over it in the way that they do? Who gives them legitimacy and who enforces that legitimacy? Who protects them and secures them? Who benefits? Who loses? Where is the oil located in the Saudi peninsula? Why is the Arabian peninsula called Saudi Arabia? How and why was the name of the clan of Saud given to an entire region in 1932? A region whose majority population and sub regions have nothing to do with the tribe or clan of Saud? Those who never accepted Islam are now the custodians of it. Those who never accepted Islam now claim to be the founders, the definers the protectors of it! Those who are now poised to destroy Islam and all symbols of its origins and humanity are the custodians, the kidnappers and hostage takers of the Ka’aba itself. It is they, the House of Saud that has taken Islam hostage, it is they who have buried Islam, up to its neck in mud and it is they who stone it to death with their actions, policies and ideology and it is they who are poised with the gleaming sword of their emblem to behead it.

Muslims should take a look at the symbols in the architecture that now looms over the Ka’aba. The architecture of the Haram Shareef which had evoked an invitation to the expansion of thought and a moderation of need that had beckoned a charity in spirit and freed an abundance of emotions, that was cooling to the eyes and calming for the soul that planted the seed of hope in the heart of those that knelt or walked with in its precincts, that kindled a sense of a beginning, a contentment of resolve—that led to an elegance and simplicity of manner, has now become a monument to the Saud, an expression of their character.

Thanks to the Saud a reversal of Islam is underway: Now a hideous clock tower, garish shopping malls for the rich, and equally vulgar billboards and skyscraper hotels for the wealthy dwarf the Ka’aba and its sanctity. Muslims should ask themselves how it could be possible that public toilets have been built where the house of Hazrat Kadija the wife of the Prophet Mohammad used to be. How is it possible that the graves of the Prophet’s family have been razed to the ground? This has been done in the name of adhering to a pure Islam? It has nothing to do with Islam, the faith of the Prophet Mohammad.

Modern Mecca: The Transformation of a Holy City, described in this article by Basharat Peer in The New Yorker, the clock tower looms like a one eyed Jinn (here). Or like a stone idol in the shape of a clock tower—whose face is in the shape of a moon or the sun—and inscribed as though on the forehead of its face is the word Allah, the face is encircled by stars. Allah, the moon, the sun and stars. Allah, Laat, Manat and Uzza. There they are in the shape of the clock tower--the return of the stone Gods revered by the ancestors of the current bunch, the current custodians of the Ka’aba. The stone gods, the ones that Mohammad shattered upon his triumphant return to Mecca from Medina—now they have been resurrected after 1400 years from crumbled sand restored bigger, better, more garishly thanks to oil and its power.

The Sauds' power of petrodollars has spread the insidious venom of hatred for the teachings of Mohammad from Riyadh to Washington DC to Mindanao from Jakarta to Aguelhok. It is they, the hereditary enemies of Mohammad’s Islam who are the current custodians of the Ka’aba. It is clear in all their actions—of violence, and immorality and greed and debauchery that it is they who have never accepted Islam. It is their brand of beliefs which espouses the subjugation, humiliation and torture of women, the destruction of monotheistic and Abrahamic spirituality, the adherence to monarchy, hatred of the vulnerable and poor, extreme inequality of humans and the worship of money. A reading of historical references including the Koran show that from Najd, from where the Saud originate, there has always been an animosity a fissure, mischief making and diversion with the Prophet and his faith and it is they who have from the time of the Prophet sought to destroy the faith that the Prophet Mohammad had sprung on them.

The Saud have financed much destruction of Islam and its shrines and now their target is closing in on the shrine in Damascus of the revered lady, Hazrat Zainab, the granddaughter of the Prophet Mohammad. Is it to become a “casualty” of their civil war? Is the shrine about to face the same fate as the destruction of the holy shrines across the globe funded by Saudi petro dollars? The shrine is threatened and in danger of being destroyed much like other shrines, by the same venom that holds the Ka’aba hostage and has defaced it.

This great animosity of the United States towards Iran, is it Israel inspired? Is it because of an affinity to Israel? Or is it because of the Saud and oil? Not the oil in Iran but the oil in the Ghawar Fields in Saudi Arabia. For the Americans it may be about oil. Keeping the ownership of the oil in the hands of the Saud and protecting them is greased by funding their belief system. The images of US Presidents one after another arm in arm or holding hands with, or kissing the cheeks of and bending over the hands of Saudi Kings, as if pledging allegiance, are instructive.

The Saud must be admired for strategic thinking and entrepreneurial expediency. They are not from Hejaz which is the birthplace of the Prophet Mohammad and Islam. The Saud are not from Al Ahsa where the richest oil fields on earth are located. The Saud are from Najd from where during the time of the Prophet and his four Caliphs there was a constant opposition to Islam. Now in the twenty first century the Saud, the architects of war on Islam seem to be poised for victory on the House of Abraham, the house of the Prophet Mohammad.

THE POWER OF PROPHECY
by Karima Hamdan

It is narrated by Abdullah bin Umar that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) said:

“When the belly of Makkah will be cleft open and through it will be dug out river-like passages (i.e. tunnels) and the buildings of the Holy City of Makkah will rise higher than its mountains, when you observe these signs, then understand that the time of trial is near at hand.”

The ahadith (narrations of the Prophet, s.a.w.) are pearls of guidance and advice that are timeless in their wisdom. There are some ahadith, however, that cause the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up as you slowly peel away the onion-like layers of meaning in them. One such hadith is that quoted above; one of the many prophecies of our Prophet (s.a.w).

If one compares this hadith to a “prophecy” emanating from someone like, for example, the medieval “seer” Nostradamus, whose books of prophecies are so beloved that they have only rarely been out of print since their original publication in the 1500s, there is a stark difference. The quatrains of Nostradamus are so woolly, vague and nonspecific they can be twisted to suit any and every time – so the same prophecy has been seized upon as an example of him “predicting” everything from the French Revolution, to both world wars, to the moon landing and even the death of Princess Diana.

The above hadith prophesying the state of Makkah towards the end of time reads more like an eyewitness account from an alien-like future. No concerted attempt has ever been made in Islamic history to claim that this hadith speaks for that time… until now when, much like a camera suddenly coming into focus, we can suddenly see what our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) was warning us about. When taken together with several other ahadith, including the famous Hadith of Jibril which speaks of the coming of the Day of Judgment being when “you see poor, naked, barefoot shepherds of sheep and goats competing in constructing tall buildings”, one sees a distinct pattern. This is especially so when combined with the current list of vainglorious monuments to the hubris of the ruling classes over much of the Arab world:

World’s tallest skyscraper: Burj Al Khalifa, Dubai, UAE
World’s tallest clock tower: Abraj Al Bait Towers, Makkah, Saudi Arabia
World’s tallest lighthouse: Jeddah Light, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
World’s tallest minaret: Hassan II Mosque, Casablanca, Morocco.

When reading this one wonders whether those in power in those countries (or their advisors) have ever heard these ahadith and, if so, why have they gone ahead to build these follies, in most cases dedicated to their own pride?

This, however, begs the following wider question. If they are so willing to ignore the ahadith of our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.), what does that make those of us who, labouring under the collective “British Muslim” moniker, have abandoned so many ahadith. The hadith above describes the characteristics of those who build these towers; nowhere does it curse them. That is starkly contrasted to the many sound hadith regarding, for example, music.

It is easy to condemn an Arab ruler who makes himself look ridiculous in his humiliating aping of western culture. We are all very vocal, laughing at their folly and their ignorance of well-known ahadith. Where, however, is the same condemnation when our own “leading lights” cast around for any sort of odd and tenuous opinion that would allow them to wiggle out of rulings on issues that the majority of scholars have deemed haram?

Indeed, whenever a hadith strongly suggests the impermissibility of something (e.g. the impermissibility for a woman to uncover her hair in public), the average reformist of Islam will cock his head at a certain angle and speak in a low, calm voice as if addressing a particularly dim-witted child as he explains that either (i) the hadith is da’eef (weak), or (ii) there are “many”ahadith supporting the opposite view, or (iii) the scholar (and I have seen them include great shuyukh of Islam up to and including Imams Malik, Shafi, Ibn Hanbal and Abu Hanifa) who came to that particular conclusion was not in receipt of all the facts and so his ruling is deficient.

We recognise the power of ahadith when we come across those like the one set out at the the top of the page. These words are from the tongue of the Prophet himself, and they have crossed the oceans of time awaiting their moment in order that they can describe a people so distant from ninth century Makkah and yet so desperately in need of the guidance of their beloved Rasool, sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

As we recover from the momentous idea that our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) loved us so much that he scattered his advice like pearls, throughout the ages to help us along our way, we then reflect on the reason we have this hadith – it is both a description and a warning to us:
“…when you observe these signs, then understand that the time of trial is near at hand.”

We may well be the generation that face the trials that so many of the ahadith speak of. We have the strongest armour as our protection: the Quran and the Sunnah, but they can only help us if we don them in their entirety.

“O you who have believed, enter into Islam whole heartedly and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.” (Quran, 2:208).

May Allah make our imaan strong enough to bear these trials and guide us to His straight way. Ameen.

What type of Islam are these clerics following. What will they achieve in destroying holy shrines. It is sad...
They take shrines as their competition, more competition less money for them. Most of this is about money. Some part of it is also about using violence to create fear so that they can convert the humans into saudi slaves.

The Loss of Meaning: The Destruction of Muslim Holy Sites
Faraz Rabbani

EVERY YEAR, Muslim holy sites are destroyed at an alarming pace. What is perhaps more alarming is that some Muslims see no problem with this.

Rather, they may even feel that this is a good thing because an “exaggerated emphasis” is placed on the holiness of such sites. This overstated emphasis, they fear, could weaken or cloud sound understanding of the Oneness of God and reliance solely upon Him.

However, Muslims from the earliest generations have sought blessings (tabarruk) of individuals, objects, places and times.

The Companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him) vied with each other for his hairs, sweat, leftover water from wudu, and objects related to him, as established in rigorously authenticated hadiths.

We see this practice in subsequent generations, too. Imam Shafi’i washed a shirt sent to him by Imam Ahmad and drank the water it was washed in (Ibn ‘Asakir, Tarikh Dimashq, 5.312).

Imam Shafi’i also would visit the grave of Imam Abu Hanifa and pray there when he had some pressing need and ask God to fulfill that need, which would invariably be fulfilled. (al-Baghdadi, Tarikh Baghdad, 1.122)

Imam Ahmad made a bequest that he be buried in Bab al-Tibn in the Qati’a cemetery. When asked about this, he responded, “I have strong proof that there is a prophet buried in Qati’a, and I would rather be buried close to a prophet than to my very own father” (Ibn Abi Ya’la, Tabaqat al-Hanabila, 1 . 188).

Why are such sites considered blessed?

The question arises, then: why this emphasis on the baraka (blessedness) of buildings, relics and individuals? The Qur’an talks about the baraka of certain individuals (such as Jesus), places (such as the Levant), things (such as the olive tree), texts (such the Qur’an), words (such as the greeting of salam, peace), and times (such as Laylat al-Qadr, when the Qur’an was first revealed).
Raghib al-Asfahani explains that baraka is “affirming Divinely-placed good in something” (Asfahani, Mufradat Alfadh al-Qur’an, 119).

Blessed individuals, objects and places are signs of the Divine. Beautiful in themselves, in meaning or form, they remind us of the Divine – of Divine Beauty, Oneness and of the ways of approaching the Divine.

They are a means of remembering God. They awaken us to the reality that the forms of created things have a meaningthey are all, in fact, signs of God. As the poet said,

In everything there is a sign,

Indicating that He is the One

God tells us in the Qur’an, “And whosoever venerates the sacred things of God, it shall be better for him with his Lord” (Qur’an 22:32), and, “And whosoever venerates God’s waymarks, that is of the godliness of the hearts” (Qur’an 22:36). Qurtubi explains that the “sacred things of God” (sha ‘a’ir Allah) are the distinguishing signs of His religion (Qurtubi, al-Jami’li Ahkam al-Qur’an, 12.55).

This is why Muslims throughout the ages have loved, venerated and sought the blessings of righteous individuals and places of significance, such as mosques, historical sites and the graves of the righteous. It is an expression of the love of God to see and celebrate His signs and to love those things beloved to Him. As the poet said,

We see this in the very practice of the Beloved of God, for Ibn ‘Umar relates that, “The Messenger of God (peace and blessings of God be upon him) used to ask for water to be brought from purification pools. He would drink from this water, seeking the blessing of the hands of Muslims” (Related by Tabarani in alAwsat, 1.243, and Abu Nu’aym in al-Hilya, 8.203; Haythami said in his Majma ‘ al-Zawa ‘id, 1.214, that its chain of transmitters is reliable).

In an age of increasing meaninglessness, the loss of these persons and places that remind us of God, and of the ways to approach Him, is unfortunate indeed.

Destroying a heritage site is a crime against not only Islam but also humanity. It is ok, that you do not believe intercession. That does not mean you can destroy historic places.

Many Muslims go here to ask blessings, many other Muslims (including me) go to these places to pray for these holy souls and remember them and remember allah and get inspired from them. These places helps Muslims to connect to the God and remember the great Islamic history.

They are trying to wipe out history, so they can write a fake one. Shame on them.

I has great respect for UNESCO World Heritage Centre. But looks like they are not able to do anything here as well.

Only Allah can save us from this. They are not only robbing current Umah, they are robbing all the generations of Muslims that will follow us. They will be remembered in the history as destroyers of human heritage
