So now, we have this so called "Shahi Imam" of the Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari LA and i shall put Lanaat against his name because he rightfully deserves it who opened his mouth and brayed like a jackass

this s------e (admin, pardon my harsh language but my blood is boiling right now) has gone ahead and shown his true colours of being a "Deshdrohi", a traitor, by inviting the PM of an enemy nation for the swearing in of his son (dynastic rule. GM, Al Zulfiqar, Humasafar etc etc, please take note).

He did not want to invite Modi. Fine. Fair enough. he has not forgiven him and that is his decision, but this moron has invited Nawaz Sharif

and then we wonder why Muslims in India are treated as second class citizens. its because of idiots like him. Bloody filthy traitor, namak haraam.

The Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid, Syed Ahmed Bukhari, on Thursday triggered a controversy by inviting Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif but not Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the anointment ceremony of his son on November 22.
Shaban, 19, who is pursuing Bachelors in Social Work at a private university, will be anointed as the Naib Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in the country, and the ceremony is expected to be attended by many religious and political leaders including some from abroad.

Shaban was picked for the influential post due to his “strong inclination“ toward humanities besides his religious capabilities, said Bukhari.

“I have invited several Indian and foreign political leaders. Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also been invited, but I have not sent invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Muslims have not forgiven him for the Gujarat riots,“ Bukhari said. Among those invited are BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Harsh Vardhan, Vijay Goel, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Justifying his decision, Bukhari said, “It's not a personal fight. He does not like us and we do not like him. He has never tried to reach out to us.“

Reacting sharply to Imam's statement, the BJP said it was unfortunate and asked what message he wants to send out by this action. “He is raising questions on himself. Indian Muslims love India and they would never ever think of Pakistan.“ BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kohli said.

Yesterday, I was talking with a guy and he said something similar. He was also of the view that if Bukhari had a problem with Modi and didn't invite him, it was ok. He did invite other BJP leaders as well as other political leaders. But then why did he have to invite a Nawaz Sharif when he knows he is from an arch-enemy country ? This is inviting trouble. Just imagine what must be running through Modi's mind.

Aligarh , 31 October 2014: Forum for Muslim Studies & Analysis ( FMSA ) has strongly reacted on inviting Pakistan Prime Minister , Nawaz Sharif and ignoring Prime Minister , Narendra Modi by Shahi Imam , Ahamd Bukhari in Dastar-bandi ceremony of his son , Tariq Bikhari .

India is a democratic country and any political party professing any type of school of thoughts may rule over it. We do not support the BJP but once Indian electorate have elected Narendra Modi as Prime Minister, then he is Prime Minister of all citizen including ours. By inviting Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and ignoring Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
Ahmad Bukhari has greatly insulted Indian Muslims said Prof. Razaullah Khan while chairing a meeting of Forum for Muslim Studies & Analysis (FMSA ) at Media Centre Aligarh. He appealed to Indian Muslims to boycott Shahi Imam
Ahmad Bukhari socially.

Secretary of FMSA, Jasim Mohammad said that Imamat is a holy task and it should not be politicised. He pointed out that the mentality exposed by Shahi Imam is not positive for Muslims or nation. Jasim Mohammad said that Ahmad Bukhari is on liberty to invite Narendra Modi or not but he should not have invited Pakistani Prime Minister , Nawaz Sharif at all. He
demanded that Shahi Imam Ahmad Bukhari must make it clear before Indian Muslims that he is an Imam or a politician ?

Farhat Ali Khan said that no doubt that Britishers had honoured the tradition set by Shahjahan to appoint Imam of Jama Masjid Delhi in hereditary way and the Indian government also continued that after India became independent but we will not allow to turn Jama Masjid , Delhi into a political battle field. He said that Imamat in Jama Masjid should be on Islamic principles and injunctions and this undemocratic Imamat must come to an end.

Prof Humayun Murad said that all religious head have duty to work for bringing communal harmony among various religious communities and sects and wipe out social evils. Ahmad Bukhari has never raised his voice against dowry system and caste system prevailing in Muslim society but has turned the stairs of Jama Masjid into a political plateform . We will not allow it to go on unchallenging .

In the end of meeting , FMSA passed a resolution to strongly condemned inviting Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by Imam Ahmad Bukhari and demanded that Indian government should end this un-Islamic Imamat through an Act of parliament .

The title of "SHAHI IMAM' itself looks a funny title. A person who leads the "Namaz" is called an Imam. There have been articles in media regarding Ahmed Bukhari and his father but does anyone know any thing about their religious activities or qualifications, whether they have been Hafiz, quari, Aalim mufassir etc but every body knows about their political statements and activities which show them in very poor light . If they indulge in political activities why should they be called SHAHI IMAM ?

Coming to his latest activity of inviting the Prime Minister of a foreign country, the media seems to be making a mountain out of molehill . Does a person of a calibre of a Prime Minister of a country find time to participate in this childish activity of "Dastar Bandi" ? Even a common man in the same vicinity and wandering aimlessly at that time will not care to look towards this activity. One wonders how can media use the word "Ignore" if Modi had not been invited . As if he was eagerly waiting for this great 'Honour' by Bukhari. A person who had reason for not wearing a "Topi" can he feel "ignored". This is all media created 'Storm in a tea cup'

Shahi Imam Ahmed Bukhari calls Muslim youths to engage in ‘Love Jihad’ in response to forced conversion

New Delhi , 12 Dec 2014 : In an already communalized atmosphere in the country Ahmed Bukhari , the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Delhi has called Muslims to engage in Love Jihad in response to the forced conversions of 200 Muslims in Agra by RSS and its affiliated organizations.

Addressing thousands of people during his weekly Juma sermon Ahmad Bukhari has advised Muslim youths to ‘convert Hindu girls and marry them as it’s the best way and the only suitable response to the forced conversions of Muslims by RSS .

Shahi Imam further said that the Muslims will never accept the status of a second class citizen in this country and will keep fighting for their rights, despite the thousands of riots, Muslims will never forget the Gujarat riots of 2002 .

He further explained that Islam did not spread by sword or by force. Muslims do not believe in forcible conversion. He quoted the Qur’anic verse “la ikraha fid deen” which means “there can be no compulsion in religion.” Corroborating his points Bukhari said ”had the Muslim rulers forced Hindus to convert to Islam there won’t have been a single Hindu in India today”.

The Controversial Nature of Shahi Imam Ahmed Bukhari’s Life and his Statement Against Modi

The ‘Shahi’ Imam Ahmed Bukhari belongs to an ancient religious dynasty who for the last thirteen generations has been ruling over the Jama Masjid as Shahi Imam. Syed Abdul Ghafoor Shah Bukhari was the First Shahi Imam of the Jama Masjid. It is said Shahjahan, the Mughal Emperor, requested the Shah of Bukhara to send Syed Abdul Ghafoor Shah Bukhari and on his arrival made him the Shahi Imam of the Jama Masjid. Since then all the Shahi Imams came from the Bukhari family.

Flirting With Politics

It is during the reign of Abdullah Bukhari, the father of the current Imam, that the Bukhari Family first started flirting with politics. During the 1977 Lok Sabha elections, when strong anti-congress wave existed in the country due to the emergency, Abdullah Bukhari had issued a fatwa, calling all Muslims to vote for the Janata Dal. But in the 1980 Lok Sabha election the Imam made a complete u-turn and urged the Muslims to vote for the Congress. This tradition of unexpected reversal of stand has stuck with the Bukhari Family. The current Imam has been notorious for his flip flop on political stands.

In the 2007 assembly elections in U.P, Ahmed Bukhari urged the Muslims to vote against the Samajwadi Party but in a total reversal of stand he supported the Samajwadi Party in the 2012 Assembly election in U.P. Later it was found that his Son-in-law, Umar Ali Khan, was given an SP ticket. Perhaps he changed his stand and supported Samajwadi Party for his own vested interests. When his son-in-law fell out with the SP supremo Mulayam Singh because of his alleged demand of a Minister post, Bukhari again started speaking against the SP and urging Muslims to vote for Mayawati, claiming that Samajwadi Party was fooling the Muslims.

So it is quite evident that Bukhari has a habit of misusing his influence among the Muslims and his political weight as a Muslim leader to achieve his own personal interests. It seems it was Bukhari, and not the SP, who was fooling the Muslims.

Shahi Imam Vs Modi

According to his statement against Narendra Modi, it seems he believed Modi and the BJP to have organized the riots in Gujarat. But I wonder where his convictions against the BJP and Modi were when in 2004 he openly persuaded the Muslims to vote for the BJP led NDA. Barely 2 years after the Gujarat riots he could relate to Modi’s party but cannot relate to him now when he is the Prime Minister of the Nation, a leader of all Indians. At the same time he has the audacity to invite Mr. Nawaz Sharif, a leader of a nation which has been responsible for countless terrorist attacks in India in which both Muslims and Hindus were killed. Does he mean to say that he is Anti-Indian and Pro-Pakistan?

He has been summoned by the court relating to an incident where it is alleged that Bukhari along with his mob of supporters attacked policemen and officials, who were there to remove encroachment near CGO Complex in Lodhi Colony. The Delhi Court also issued non-bailable warrant against him but he failed to show up. He repeatedly ignored the Court’s order and the police was too wary of inciting communal strife by forcefully arresting Ahmed Bukhari.

Too Much Power In One Hand

As with all dynasties, too much concentration of power in one family for too long will only result in abuse of power and corruption. There are allegations that the Bukharis have been using the Jama Masjid as their private property. A Government funded Guest House was allegedly used by Bukhari as his private bedroom moreover there are many similar allegations where the Bukharis have been accused of using government funded buildings for their personal use. There is also a case against the Bukharis in the Delhi High Court where they are accused of illegal construction in the premise of the Holy Jama Masjid. A team formed by the High Court probed these allegations and found the claim of illegal construction to be correct.

The Communal Shahi Imam

The irresponsible statement of the Shahi Imam Ahmed Bukhari not only undermines the dignity and respect of the position of the Prime Minister of India but also creates religious and communal mistrust in the largely tolerant society of India. It is the religious leaders who create insecurities in the minds of their followers and breed hatred, which in turn motivates their followers to blindly adhere to them, thereby increasing the religious leaders’ power and influence.

Hierarchy and dynasty in any religion creates powerful individuals who exploit their huge following among their masses as a tool to further their narrow interest and increase their clout. Such controversial religious leaders and self proclaimed spokespersons of entire communities should be rejected by the masses or else the ugly face of religious intolerance and communal hatred will keep on showing up from time to time.
