New Documents Released of 2007 Iraq Atrocity by Troops

My name is John Needham. I am a member of Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry division, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, (BCo,2-12INF,2BCT,2ID . I deployed with my unit to Iraq from October 2006 until October 2007 when I was medically evacuated for physical and mental injuries that I suffered during my deployment. The purpose of my letter is to report what I believe to be war crimes and violation of the laws of armed conflict that I personally witnesses while deployed in Iraq.

I have photos that support my allegations. I also have numerous other photos on a laptop PC that the unit illegally seized from me. I have requested its return but they have refused.
My experiences have taken a terrible toll on me. I suffer from PTSD and depression. I had no way to stop the ugly actions of my unit. When I refused to participate they began to abuse and harass me. I am still in treatment at the Balboa Naval hospital. I respectfully request that you investigate these matters, that you protect my safety by reassigning me to a different unit that is not located at Fort Carson, that you return my PC or, at least, seize it to protect the evidence on it, and that you issue a military protective order to prohibit the offending members of my unit from harassing, retaliating, or contacting me.

The US Exit from Iraq: What were the Reasons for this Costly War?

Finally, following the announcement made by President Barak Obama, the last batch of US troops are exiting Iraq very soon; the inhabitants of Fallujah are rejoicing by burning the US and Israeli flags; for sure so are the relatives of the victims of this unjust war, especially those who survived the gruesome torture in Abu-Ghraib and other prisons. The rest of the masses in Iraq were indifferent, ‘ungrateful’ to their liberators! This is a suitable point to reflect and speculate -what were the reason(s) behind this costly war?

One can imagine the US officials stating to the troops “mission accomplished”, a cliché often seen in Hollywood films. What was that mission? To locate Iraq’s WMDs. Regardless of your viewpoint, according to the ‘official’ figures, the blood of 100,000 Iraqis and almost 5000 US soldiers confirmed that Iraq had no WMDs; thus, Saddam Hussein and the rest of the world were telling the truth. In contrast, George Bush with his neo-conservative Zionist cabal were lying through their teeth, thus the huge mass protests within and all round the world; the maxim of democracy, majority opinion rules was discarded as irrelevant, it was war as usual.

Ironically, the pre-war evidence furnished only corroborated the view that Iraq’s WMD was a false pretext. The UN inspectors failed to produce any evidence, not even one bomb; despite the pleas from UN Inspector, Scott Ritter, this was ignored! The British Cabinet Minister, the late Robin Cook who was a physicist stated that you cannot hide Nuclear weapons, because they are easily detected from space. The heap of lies piled up with a fabricated ‘dodgy’ dossier to outlandish claims of a 45 minute threat posed to British forces was entertained for the tabloid mobs.

Even afterwards, when all sides accepted that Iraq did not have any WMDs, unlike the Israelis or the Americans, there was no talk of war reparation and immediate withdrawal of troops with an apology. Instead, the lie about Iraq’s WMD continued with a new spin, the Zionist neo-con dominated media propagated that they were shipped to Syria or Iran. Most probably transported on Aladdin’s magic carpet by Saddam’s elite forces, enabling them to bypass all the troops and the high tech monitoring that were placed in the region during the war!

The invasion also revealed certain truths about both sides. It ignited a sectarian war, with regular suicide bombings that were never witnessed in the past under the reign of Saddam Hussein. This implies the Arab-Baathist regime failed to unify the nation, as the fault lines were just lying dormant, until ignited by the US invasion.

Concurrently, it also reconfirmed the violent sadistic culture that is a feature of US culture and way of life. Numerous clips surfaced showing the US soldiers brutalising the Iraqis, and the initial denials by the mainstream media was eventually halted by the revelation of the gruesome images from the sadistic torture chamber of Abu-Ghraib. This was later described by one US Senator as their “boys letting off some steam”; indeed it was not the Mujahedeen, but GI-Joes raping and sodomising innocent young boys, women and men, besides raping women is rife within the US forces, so the soldiers do not require much training!

Apart from the human cost, the financial cost runs into trillions of dollars, which has compounded the US debt problem. What did the US really achieve from all this? Abundant supply of cheap oil as often stated by the red comrades and conspiracy minded Islamic activists? This maybe partially true as Iraq has been looted to some extent, yet that has not covered the cost of war, even the reconstruction contracts are now going towards countries that did not participate in the war. A more bizarre theory that the war was to prevent rivals like China and India to acquire the oil, this is not enough to explain the motive behind waging the costly war as the gains would be implicit in that, it prevented some of the resources going to their rivals. The costs still outweigh the benefit. In any case, the issue of oil is overplayed here, the US has plenty of oil and it can access that from numerous other places just as cheaply.

What about ideological motives such as spreading democracy and freedom? This is probably a secondary or a lesser objective, because if the US was that committed to such values, then it would not ally with non-democratic nations. Moreover, the US has not been enthusiastic in embracing the recent genuine movement for democracy in the Middle East, shown by its lethargic response to support the Arab Spring, and committing only when it is sure of the outcome. Otherwise, it supports the causes selectively when it conforms to the foreign policy of Israel. Hence, it shows plenty of support for the Syrian uprising, but not those in Bahrain, Kuwait or Saudi.

Could the Iraq invasion have been primarily an emotional response to 9/11? The US needed to demonstrate their firepower to the Muslim world, in order to show that it means business. Therefore, Iraq was primarily a revenge attack for 9/11, their lust for blood and vengeance was satisfied, like a vampire needing to feed on human blood. It explains partially the brutal behaviour of US Soldiers and why many stated openly that “I got my revenge”. If so, how does that sit with the born-again Christian, George Bush and the Catholic Blair guided by their loving God into war who allegedly teaches that you should “turn the other cheek” and “love your enemy”, but did the Iraqis slap the cheeks of the Americans or the British in the first place?

Maybe it was a combination of all of the reasons stated and more, however, that was still disproportionate to justify this war, because there is no tangible or intangible benefit, the only thing is, US has gone deeper into debt, and Iraq became more violent and instable; it is left with a corrupt dictator and the country is barely holding together along the sectarian and racial fault lines.

Americans must substantially recompense Iraq for nine years of occupation!!

On the 15th of December 2011, America announced that it officially ended its nine year occupation of Iraq by withdrawing its troops and handing the country over to Iraqis.

There is heavy skepticism and doubt surrounding the extent of honestly of America regarding its statement because American sources also announced that there will still be some seventeen thousand US nationals (bigger than any single military division) remaining behind under the name of diplomats, security officials, experts of oil refineries and contractors!! However there isn’t any doubt that a large part of the American occupation has left Iraq and the last of its military convoy also exited the other day but rather the important question which needs an answer is: to what state and condition have the Iraqi people been left behind to?

It is clear that the American invaders left behind Iraq in a condition in which the country’s treasury, historical artifacts and infrastructure has been looted and destroyed; its high rise commercial and political buildings turned to rubble; its green areas and parks turned into junkyards; its roads and bridges pock-marked with craters and on top of this, one hundred and fifty thousand innocent Iraqi’s have been murdered and around 2.5 million Iraqi’s have been displaced whereas its resource rich wealthy people have been thrown into a ditch of poverty and destitution.

It is an open secret that America made baseless excuses to occupy Iraq so it can control its rich mineral resources and fill its belly with oil. To attain its objective, America (in its own words) spent about one trillion dollars and sacrificed 5000 of its soldiers but it was the will of Allah Almighty that in this Muslim country, the neck of imperialism would be broken, its plots and determination made fruitless and it would be forced to flee empty handed in the end.

The 9 year violation of Iraq by America disclosed to the World that this notorious criminal did not give Iraqi’s anything other then killings, destruction, plunder and poverty. On top of this, it ruined the nation’s unity; created and dispersed sects under the names of nationalism and faith; conjured fire and enmity under the disguise of Shia, Sunni, Arab and Kurd and then left all of it behind.

So what is needed now is that America be asked to provide justification and explanation for its violation of a country’s sanctity and sanctums, taking of its people hostage for 9 years, causing billions of dollars worth of damages, liquidating its military and political strength and for killing and maiming about half a million Iraqi’s!!?

The nations of the world must put pressure on the United Nations and other international organizations to drag and put on trial those perpetrators of the American administration who had a role in burning the Iraqi people in the flames of gunpowder for nearly a decade under false pretexts. It is the due right of the Iraqi people to expose the American authority and to ask for a heavy compensation for causing the catastrophic destruction of Iraq.

In summary, the taxpayer-funded ABC (Australia’s equivalent of the UK BBC) has deliberately ignored and censored out authoritative reportage of the Iraqi Holocaust and Iraqi Genocide that has been associated with 4.6 million war-related Iraqi deaths, 1.7 million violent Iraqi deaths, 2.9 million avoidable deaths from war-imposed deprivation, 2.0 million under-5 infant deaths (90% avoidable and due to gross US Alliance war crimes in violation of the Geneva Convention) and 5-6 million refugees.

The ABC claims that it “Is Australia’s most trusted, independent source of news. Our network of more than 500 journalists at home and abroad provide unrivalled coverage of the news events that affect Australians” .William Joyce (Lord Haw Haw) was hanged by the British in 1946 for broadcasting on behalf of the Nazi Germans. The Neocon American and Zionist Imperialist (NAZI)-beholden and pro-war-, pro-Zionist- and pro-US ABC and its 500 “journalists” must simply be publicly exposed for lying by commission and lying by omission over the Iraqi Genocide (4.6 million war related deaths), Afghan Genocide (5.6 million war-related deaths), Palestinian Genocide (1.5 million war-, occupation- and expulsion-related deaths), Somali Genocide (2.2 million war-related deaths) and the Libyan Genocide (50,000 war-related deaths).

CAMP VICTORY: SPINNING THE CONQUEST OF IRAQ INTO A WIN FOR “DEMOCRACY” AND WAR WITH IRAN

As a Nobel Prize recipient, Barack Obama faced the oxymoronic reality of having to accept prizes for peace while waging global war. Were global consciousness at an enhanced level, observers would have equated such a contradiction as akin to a reversal of the Nuremburg principles against aggressive war; a radical pardon of Hitler’s underlings recognizing that at the heart for such military expansion was the intention of peace and liberation.

The Maliki government has agreed to purchase 7.6 billion in F-16’s from the U.S. military-industrial complex and will have signed over 370 military sales by January 2012. This is part of a “Bilateral Framework Security Agreement,” the details of which cast doubt on the claim that all forces will be removed. The plan authorizes U.S. “trainers” to remain to conduct joint terrorism exercises and calls for continuing negotiations that could return troops to Iraq even as soon as shortly after next year’s U.S. elections. The new democracy in Iraq will be marked by security forces killing Iraqis with U.S. weapons as the regime embezzles the oil proceeds on behalf of Multinational Corporations. It’s a liberation only oil can buy.

Just what does “Democracy” in Iraq look like? The Iraqi government was hardly immune from the Arab Spring. Despite underreporting in the Western press, protests there were squashed like those in other U.S. client states with large petroleum reserves without a word of criticism from the benigh American master. Prime Minister Maliki recently arrested a spate of Sunnis without charge and the justice system is broken. Police checkpoints cover all of Baghdad as 100,000 officers there answer directly to the Prime Minister, representing a personal army for the “elected” official. The capital has been virtually cleansed of the Sunni minority, which reporters and bloggers claim lives in fear of a return to heightened ethnic tensions. Press freedom is virtually non-existent with many journalists in jail and the prospects that violence will return is high as well.

In truth, the U.S. returns the biggest foreign embassy the world has ever known in Baghdad, and covert forces remain. But in typical Obamaesque rhetorical manipulation, this temporary transition is at least a political play to make Maliki and Obama appear like honest polititicians, legitemately interested in preserving “peace” and “democracy”, but “democratic” Iraq stands on the faulty pillars of natural resource exploitation, lucrative military contracts, and genocide. Perhaps sometime next year we will see Mr. Maliki accept his own Nobel Prize with Obama at his side.
