Muslim leaders condemn arrest of Urdu journalist in Israeli Embassy car attack case

The Coordination Committee for Indian Muslims (CCIM) has condemned arrest of eminent Urdu Journalist Muhammad Ahmad Kazmi by the Special Cell of Delhi Police in the Israeli Embassy car attack case. Kazmi has been writing on Middle East particularly Iran-Israel relations in Urdu media. He was regularly appearing in TV debates as expert on Middleast affairs. Kazmi was picked by the police on Wednesday here in Delhi.

After the meeting, CCIM in a press statement said: “The continuing at random arrests of Muslim youth are not only a matter of grave concern for the community, they are also injurious to the democratic setup of the country. It is a matter of alarm that now a senior member of the Urdu journalist community has been arrested without any apparent evidence or proof. Muhammad Ahmad Kazmi is a senior Urdu journalist of long standing who works and writes in the higher interests of the country.”
