I don't read much (almost nothing) about what is happening in Surat jamaat. As Mumbai and Surat are the 2 most important and (bohra) populous cities, I thought there might be much happening.

I know ... but, surprisingly, they have been far and few inbetween. I thought there would be much more. But I guess the iron grip of the kothar is more dominant in Surat.

That's mainly because of the current Amil Muder BS as he happens to be the saadubhai of Muffy and his wife is the daughter of the fitnati Yusuf Najmuddin, hence they are from the same group which has total control over bohras and are responsible for the current mess in the community !

It was in the past that they had some sort of dominance there. But current affairs seem that they ain't no Mulla's opsy mullahs like in Mumbai. Like them one of the little abde may be 16, from jameea was saying Surat has lost it colours. In context to muffy taking any interest in educational activities even though his own future ATM's that reside 24 hours at Surat jameea..

On 1st Zilkad, the Surat Amil Muder summoned khidmatguzars of various committees randomly and everyone rushed to the devri expecting some news regarding Mohurrum vayez in Surat. There is one such committee "Amtalullah blah blah" which comprises of around 400 women, majority of whom are very poor and who tirelessly manage the various jamans by picking up thaals, serving them in scorching heat and even washing utensils. Their job becomes really tough during jamans on major events like mohurrum vayez, zikra etc. wherein they have to manage thousands of thaals. The members of this committee also rushed to devri leaving aside their household chores and spending money on travel as many of them stay very far from Surat devri. To their utter surprise they were asked to wait for quite some time after which they were sent to the zaadi Huseina (daughter of SMB, who was on a visit to Surat) and were asked to do "pehli taarik no salam". The poor ladies who find it difficult to meet both ends were forced to do salams alongwith hundreds of members of other committees after which they were coolly asked to go back. In this manner, the zaadi Huseina made a fast buck and laughed all the way to the bank !!!

Mohurrum is still a month away but the mafia clergy have opened their shops and one such mafia member is the Surat Amil, Muder (saala of MS) !! The Masjid space are now up for sale for vayez and the going rate is Rs.1,052/-for "Jaalia ni jagah" wherein the amtes get the front seats followed by "Teka ni jagah" wherein the amtes can listen to the vayez comfortably with their back rested against the wall or pillars. Amtes are rushing to book their seats much like the rush on the first day of a Bollywood blockbuster as there are strong rumours that the axe is going to fall on Surti bohras this Mohurrum as MS has selected Surat for his first appearance in Mohurrum tamasha !!

Muharram in Surat !! SMS will be sad, he cant go hunting after muharram ! 10 days of of SMS gyaan. abdes and SMS both are shivering… one with headache and latter with nervousness !
