Tandoor
Re: Tandoor
It would be too easy.No sweat equity.
Re: Tandoor
Well, you can wash dishes for a year to pay for it.
Re: Tandoor
I do that regularly, there has to another way.
Re: Tandoor
How about Jhadu Pota? Is there a chance that you do that too?
Re: Tandoor
I have a lady take care of that.I also dont like making beds, washing clothes, dusting or regular cooking.Dont like any kind of shopping.Only store I go to is hardware store.
Re: Tandoor
hmmm. So what you are saying is that you are pretty much useless!!
Re: Tandoor
No,I play a mean game with tools. So hows it for you.Writing a check would not take up 1/2 a day of gathering stuff, another 1/2 to build it.Use it few times and then chucking it in garbage.Unless the lady decides to do it before me.Miss out on all my wife's ideas.(I TOLD YOU SO).
Re: Tandoor
I am a big fan of tools. Do pretty much everything around the house. Have been recently into painting. Have done a great job with my kids rooms and the living room. Did the dining room too. I am a big fan of the movies, so have setup a bose home theatre in the house. Not a big fan of doing work in the backyard.
Re: Tandoor
I bet you didnt wear the old old clothes and ruined your so so good clothes, well it happens to me every time.I dont mind painting but my wife sure hates the mess I leave behind. She had to have this greenish color in the computer/office.The blue masking tape is great.

seeker,
You are absolutely right. I have ruined all my home clothes. Although when people doubt that I could do such a fantastic job, I put my clothes on display.

Re: Tandoor
Fantastic job? House painting is no big deal - you can't mess it up even if you tried. Modern tools make it simple and easy. With rollers, tape and a little patience even a half-fool like me can do a half-decent job. Although I agree there is no guarantee that you won't ruin your house clothes.
Re: Tandoor
Well, I have themes in each of my kids rooms. My daughters room is like an underwater place. I have sky blue on the cealing with clouds painted all over which I did individually using spray paint. The walls are ocean blue with a 1.5 foot wave going all around the center of the room. I have tattouages of fishes and dolphins and corals etc. My sons room has a "cars" theme (the disney movie) with a black and white checkerboard going all around the center of the room and car tattouages around. Have you tried doing a checkerboard with masking tape? It is not easy. So yes, I am proud of what I have done and it is fantastic!!
Re: Tandoor
hmmm... that sounds fantastic! Would you care to post some pictures? I wonder what's the theme in your room- Islamic green?
Re: Tandoor
I thought about that, but lowes doesn't carry that shade of green. So my room has the builder color for now. But that will change soon.
By the way, I still haven't figured out how to post pictures over here. Any ideas?

Re: Tandoor
Upload your pics on a free server like google docs and post them here with the "img" tag. Or you could post them on Flickr, Picasa and other photo sites and provide a link here.
Re: Tandoor
I was wondering if it is possible to just post it over here in a post?
Re: Tandoor
You mean copying and pasting an image? I don't think it will work, never tried it. To post an image here or on any web page it must reside somewhere physically - that can only be on a server.
Re: Tandoor
Well, I've seen a lot of images posted in posts by brother S. Insaf. Does the link get rendered within a post? Brother Insaf, if you are reading this, please let us know.

We post the pictures for Insaf saheb and host them on our server.
Re: Tandoor
The tandoor I was thinking of is basically our stovetop oven without the top, layered inside with clay.Cutting the drum in half and layering the inside with clay some how makes it harder to do pizza.Sliding grill-tray would make easy access.By the way anybody with a throwaway kitchen stove?
Is it true you have to put hair in your clay to keep it all together, so it wouldnt crack after the first temp. change (600F).
