That was the time when Pakistanis were living and enjoying life as it was meant to be. Islamic way of life but government was secular.

the whole mess was created by zia ul haq who was a self proclaimed ameerul momineen and enjoyed slogans like mard e momin mard e haq ziaul haq zia ul haq, he is the father of this taliban and weaponisation in our dear country, by the way isnt it that wherever people emerge with the support of religion they create mass destruction

That has been the case in recent history. The moment you have a religion-centric government, all hell breaks for any alternate school of thought and minorities. The Huddud ordinance has messed up the whole country. Before that ordinance were we not respectful of our Muslim heritage. Actually we were a country where tolerance and mutual respect was norm, now it is total intolerance and tendency to accuse people falsely.

I hope Pakistan will recover from this dark period and become the 'Land of Pure' as its name.

the only leader for me is Quaid e Azam and i always adore what he said "you are free to go to your mosques you are free to go to your temples religion is not the business of state" these mullahs are selling different kind of islam creating their own groups just for personal gains and power, mustapha kamal of turkey is a glittering example who hanged all mullahs from all sects and relieved turkey from everyday riots and killings. I pray to Allah to send another Mustapha Kamal in Pakistan.

I would like to add few of my other favorites to the excellent list provided by slaar:

1. Ye Samaa Moj Ka Karwaan - Film: Chand Or Chandni
2. Kabhi To Tum Ko Yaad Aayenge - Film: Chakori
3. Kahan Ho Tum Ko Dhondh Rahee Hain - Film: Chakori
4. Khamosh Hain Nazare Ek Baar Mukuraa Do - Film Bandagi

Where did those days, artistes, people disappear? What talent pool we had then.
