Hazrat Abbas (AS)

Unread post by questions » Wed May 07, 2014 9:25 am

Hazrat Abbas was the son of Hazrat Ali Ibne Abi Talib. His mother's name was Fatima, who was aslo known as 'Ummul Banin". She was the daughter of Huzam Ibne Khalid, an illustrious person of the Kalb-a tribe, which was distinguished for its chivalry. Hazrat Abbas was born in Medina on 7th Rajab 26 AH. When the news of his birth reached Hazrat Ali, he prostrated himself on the ground as a token of his humble thanks to Allah. Imam Hussain took the baby in his arms and recited the Azan and Eqamat in his right and left ears. On the 7th day of his birth, the ceremony of Aqeeqa was performed and Hazrat Ali named him Abbas.

Hazrat Abass was a towering and handsome personality. His dauntless courage, supreme confidence and unflinching loyalty earned him many tiltes. He was called 'Qamar-e-Bani Hashim' (the moon of the Hashemites) because of his imposing appearance. His remarkable horemanship made him "Syed-ul-Forosan' (the chief of horsemen). His ability to lead people resulted in his being called "Rais-ul-Shujan'(the leader of the valiant), and the manner in which he sacrified his life earned him the title "Afzal-ul-Shohada" (the choicest of the martyrs) and "Saqqa' (water carrier)because he sacrified his life to procure water for Iman Hussain's children in the tragic battle of Karbala. He fully lived up to his name which in Arabic stands for Lion. Hazrat Ali who himself was known as the Lion of Allah, brought him up and ably guided him until he was 14 years old. The next 10 years of Hazrat Abbas's life were spent under the careful eye of Imam Hasan and the last ten years with Imam Hussain. Little wonder that he accquired near perfection in so many aspects of life - gallantry, boldness ,patience tolerance, loyalty and sacrificing nature.

Salam Ya Abass (AS) - hum sub ko unka viladat ka din mubarak ho.

These days the shahadat of Maula Abbas is read precisely due to the shortage of time however from the detailed shahadat i would like to bring in front of readers the sacrifices of the other sons of Maula Ali, Abbas was granted raza to bring water for the haram and not to engage into direct conflict with the enemies by Maula Hussain, Abbas went into the field alongwith the other six sons of Maula Ali and Ummul Baneen, their names are Maulana Abu Bakar, Maulana Umer, Maulana Usman, Maulana Aun, Maulana Abdullah and Maulana Jaffar.this small contingent went into the field with Maula Abbas in the center, all the brothers were surrounding and defending him from all sides, the objective was to bring water for the haram of Maula Hussain, they went out and started jihad, they were the sons of the lion of Allah, this was the contribution of Ummul Baneen in the propagation of islam and the khidmat of panjatan, she delivered them for this day. enemies pounded on them and they did whatever was possible till their end, it is easy to say but the banks of AlQama was fortified by thousands and thousands of enemies but with their sheer courage and bravery Abbas reached the river pushing and killing all who dared to come in his way, when Abbas looked back he was left alone, sons of Ali Murtaza had accomplished their job and sacrificed their lives for their brother, it was at that point that Abbas had water in his hands but he did not bring it to his lips and only filled the mashkiza to earn the tile of Abbas e Ba Wafa, as he turned back the enemies attacked him they were well aware that if the water reach the haram the battle would prolong and the Hussaini army would fight more ferociously, they chopped the right hand of Abbas, he took the mashkiza in the left hand, some enemies took cover of the trees and attacked him chopping his left hand, Abbas took the mashkiza in his mouth, at this point he was very near to the khaima and could see them, Abbas galloped the horse to reach the khaima, the enemy fired arrows on the mashkiza and the water flew out of it, now Abbas lost his objective and was surrounded by the enemies it is said that an arrow was shot into his eyes and his face was also badly hurt by the blow of iron chain with iron ball called gruz, he fell from his horse, when a person falls from horseback he takes the support of his hands to avoid direct hit but when Abbas fell he had no hands on his body, he called his Maula Hussain for assistance, when Hussain saw him he held his back, Abbas requested Hussain to wipe off the blood fom his eyes as he wanted to have a last glimpse of his Maula, and made another request not to take his body in the khaima, Hussain asked Abbas to call him Brother as he always called him Maula, both the brothers embraced each other and the Rooh of Abbas left his body to reach Kausar and to meet Panjatan. YA ABBAS YA ABBAS

shortage of time?

oh come on 3 hours of waez is wasted on fuzul badhai of recent mullas, while important personalities of Islam are ignored because there is no time?

they deliberately don't speak about these personalities to keep people ignorant about truth of Islam and how truly life should be lived.

Battle of Siffin took place in the year 37 Hijri, a bloody battle in which Maula Ali was leading a strong army of 80000 muslimeen, including the fighters of Badar a whole contingent was led by Maulana Malik ul Ashtar all the members of his group were Hafiz e Quran, jalilul qadar Muhajireens and Ansaars of madina were part of the muslim army, ashaabs of Maula Ali included Maulana Ammar bin Yasir, Maulana Malik ul Ashtar, Maulana Khuzaima bin Sabith and so on, the other side was led by laeen Mawiya,Marwan, Ibn ul Aas and Shimr aljoshan, they were leading a strong syrian army of 120000 soldiers, both the sides had their renowned warriors with them, among the syrians there was a very strong knight his name was Ibn e Shasa, he was there with his 7 sons all participating in the battle against Maula Ali, this Ibn e Shasa was a very proud and arrogant warrior who was proud for his physical strength and fighting tactics and so were his sons, before the start of the main battle skirmishes took place between the two sides, then the syrians saw a horseman fully disguised, masked and armoured, galloping towards them, Ibn e Shasa said, for him my son is good enough and send one of his son to fight but to their surprise he was quickly tackled and killed by that disguised soldier, in a fit of anger Shasa kept sending all his sons to face that knight and they were all killed one after the other, finally Shasa himself jumped into the fight and after sometime he also lost the ground and killed by that disguised horseman, people were sure that this could be nobody but Ali Murtaza himself as his fighting style was just like that of Ali, but to their surprise, when that horseman reached the other side he was warmly recieved by Maula Ali, people were guessing who this could be? finally when the horseman removed his mask and armour they were surprised to see ABBAS who was just 11 years of age at that time but was trained by no other then Sher e Khuda himself, this was the first battle in which Abbas participated and proved himself to be the lion of the lion of Allah. Ali embraced him, Maula was saving Abbas for some other day when Hussain would be left alone in the desert of Karbala.

...................................................................... "LAANAT TAARI AMAAN OUPAR"..................................................................................... During the battle of Karbala Shimar Ibn Ziljoushan laeen who was the second in command of the Yazids army came galloping his horse towards the khaimas of Maula Hussain and shouted "Where are my nephews Abbas. Abdullah, Jaffar, Usman?" this laeen belonged to the same tribe and was in relation to the ma sahiba of Maula Abbas, Maulatena Fatima, commonly known as Ummul Baneen, at first Abbas refused to reply but after getting the raza and instruction from Maula Hussain to reply, Abbas said, what is that he wanted. Shimar said "O my nephews i have asked Oubaidullah for your safety(amaan) so why do you wish to get killed alongwith Hussain, come with me and join the forces of the mighty Yazid". Maula Abbas looked at him and then roared "TARA OUPAR ANAY TARI AMAAN OUPAR KHUDA NI LAANAT, HAMNAY AMAAN AAPAY CHE ANAY NABI NA NAWASA NE AMAAN NAHI"(waezeen often recite these words in majlis) Abbas further said "HOW DARE YOU ASK US TO DESERT OUR MAULA HUSSAIN AND TIE OURSELF TO THE CORRUPT AND MISGUIDED YAZID". Shimar got red in anger, he turned and galloped back briskly.

Ofcourse for the true lovers of ahl e bayt this is reverence however for the people in the herd of zakir kutta this might be flattery as they cannot reject the words of their prophet HUSSAIN MINNI WA ANA MINAL HUSSAIN.

the pattern on which shahadat are read in bohra majalis differs from the isna ashari, in bohra majalis the 2nd majlis starts from nabi Adam then Nooh then Ibrahim Mousa and Essa then we start with the shahadat of Panjatan that is Mohammad then Fatima then Maula Ali then Hasan Imam and on the day of Ashura Imam Hussain whereas in Shia majalis they spread it like on the 2nd they do the majlis of Muslim bin Aqeel on the 6th they do the majlis for Shehzada Ali Asghar then on the 7th for Abbas Allamdar then Shehzada Ali Akbar and so on, this is a fixed pattern and practiced every year.
