Let's be realistic.
The bohra community (esp orthos) are likely to be in for a traumatic shock upon the demise of the current dai. Not just becasue of the loss of a "loved one" but also because they will truly be a flock of sheep without a shepard.
It will be a real lesson for the masses that life is fleeting and no sould escapes death, despite continous ramblings of "may allah grant our moula to be with us till qiyamat".
The point is that the community is (arguably has been) a rudderless ship becasue a 94 sickly man (insaan) is not in a position to lead with strength despite the propaganda the followers themselves advocate
Upon the imminent demise, the position of the community as 'leaderless' will be compounded unless direction is restored. Much like a large organisation without effeective management (not just a a figurehead) I fear the bohra community will end up shooting itself in the foot as there cluelessness will get the better of them.
Perhaps there will be a radical lesson here for the masses and they may finally learn that they can't rely on anyone except Allah and that as humans they have to make there own decisions and think for themselves.
Any comments?

Re: Community Management
As for now, the kothar is celebrating the recovery of sayedna by throwing mass jamans. All jamatkhanas are open today.

Re: Community Management
It will be interesting to see what happens.
However, if a flock of sheep loose their shepard - eventually a new shepard comes along - the sheep soon forget what happened in the past and continue to trot along blindly no matter how radically different (better or worse) the new ways are.

Interesting to look at some old discussions from almost a decade ago. Still poignant.alsojinxed wrote:Let's be realistic.
