9th Shawwal - Dar Es Salaam - Aqa Moula (t.u.s)'s plane touched down at 3.50pm (east african time) today 24.12.01 in Dar es Salaam. There were lots of Mumeneen to welcome and also have the dedaar, although we were not allowed to go inside the airport, the boundary was filled up, with little children too. Aqa Moula TUS got down from the plane and into the car, accompanied by the Minister Mr. Jakaya Kikwete and a few other dignitaries going around the boundary, escorted by the Burhani Boy's scout band. We were lucky to get the sharaf and dedaar of Aqa Moula from a very close range. Aqa Moula TUS then boarded a charter plane, sitting in front on the right hand side, next to the Pilot, which then took off for the Tafreeh trip. It is estimated that the flying time for this shorter trip would be of 1 hour and 15 minutes. We will keep you posted on further news, once available. Shouldn't Burhanuddin be doing something other than killing an elephant at age 90? What was the purpose of killing an animal that is on the endangered species list? I think he has committed a heinous crime by killing one of God's creature that is on the verge of extinction due to mass killings performed by poachers? Does this put Burhanuddin at the same level of the poachers? Certainly. We already knew that he enjoys robbing the wallets of the community, but now we can add robbing the life of nature to that list. <br>Local authorities must prosecute this man for the killing of the elephant. <br>What will he do with the dead carcass of the elephant other than stuffing it and putting it on display at Saifee Mahal? Or is Burhanuddin and his "royal" family going to feast like hyenas on the succulent elephant meat?<p>I hope you Kothars on this board realize that there was no legitimate purpose for killing an elephant or even taking a hunting trip to Africa. This is just another example of how Burhanuddin takes pride in "blowing" the money he receives from the Bohris.<p>

Jinx posted:<p>Syedna’s slaves <br>Being born into a family of Dawoodi Bohras, a sub–sect among Shia Muslims, you do not automatically become a Dawoodi Bohra yourself. You become one on attaining puberty only after swearing an oath of allegiance — misaq — to the sect’s Dai (head priest). The present head priest is named Syedna Burhanuddin. On the face of it, this appears to be a fine arrangement — you voluntarily choose to become a Dawoodi Bohra by accepting the oath of allegiance to the Dai. But that is theory. The fact is if you are born into a Dawoodi Bohra, you have very little choice at the age of puberty but to sign on the dotted line. And accepting the misaq is nothing short of agreeing to a state of life–long bondage to the head priest and his agents. <p>The oath means the acceptance of the Dai not merely as your religious head but also as absolute dictator controlling all aspects of the life of all members of the community. Among other things, the misaq document commits you to the following: <br>“If a person taking the oath breaks it, all his possessions, i.e., moveables, cash, housing, utensils, jewels, ornaments, carriages, horses, cattle, milching cows, she buffaloes, slaves, males and females, and all worldly material become unlawful for him. All his property is liable to be looted and distributed among the poor and the needy. When he takes the oath again and accepts all the terms of the covenant then his things become lawful to him and then he is entitled to get his things back. <br>“And if the breaker of the covenant has a wife, that wife becomes forbidden to him. The breach (of covenant) has the effect of the three talaaqs (divorce) against his wife… The woman can never marry him again, neither can he take her as a wife.” <p>Having accepted the misaq, be sure to seek the raza (consent) of the Syedna or his agents in everything you do. This means that marriage, construction of house, starting a business, opening a school or creating a trust, standing for elections, or even voting for a certain candidate is not possible without prior permission of the Dai. Any member who does not take the raza of the Syedna before any such actions is liable to baraat. <p>The breach of oath brings complete social ostracism or baraat. Baraat means total social boycott of the individual. Those socially boycotted can no longer associate with any other Dawoodi Bohra, not even their own family members, nor are they allowed entry in the community mosques or burial in the ancestral grounds. <br>The use of misaq, raza and baraat is intended to effectively and absolutely enslave members of the Bohra community to the head priest so as to allow him to financially exploit the community to the extent he wishes, and interfere in their social and secular affairs, virtually reducing them to the position of pawns and puppets in his hands. <p>To seek escape from the tyranny of the Syedna, reform–minded Bohras approached the human rights group Citizens for Democracy in 1978. The CFD appointed a Commission which came to be known as the Nathwani Commission. On the basis of the evidence placed before it, the Commission found “widespread violation of human rights of Bohra community members and recounted instances of mental and physical torture of those who raised their voice calling for truly religious functioning of the high priest against his authoritarian methods.” <p>Successive governments chose to ignore the recommendations of the Nathwani Commission even while the Syedna’s tyranny continued. As a result, a second commission comprising of Justice Debi Singh Tewatia, former chief justice of the Calcutta High Court, and veteran journalist and the CFD chairman, Kuldip Nayar was appointed in 1992. After recording evidence placed before it, the Tewatia Commission came to the following conclusions: <br>“Ours is the second Commission after a lapse of 14 years. It is painful to find that the Syedna has not learnt anything from the criticism that the Nathwani Commission, the first one, made about his working. In fact, he has become worse now, not even bothered about what others say, much less the Dawoodi Bohra community which he heads. No community among the Muslims has suffered so much and for so long as the Dawoodi Bohras have done at the hands of a leader, who continues to be dictatorial, ruthless and unmindful of cruelties he perpetrates. <p>“The community is not against the office he holds but against his functioning, which indeed reflects a personal rule of a whimsical type. In the name of religion and God, he has structured an ungodly, irreligious and inhuman order, the like of which will shame even the most despotic rulers. That he continues to defy even the minimum norms of free expression and freedom in an open democratic society like India’s is a slur on the nation and that he does it with impunity is a challenge to every thinking person. <p>“There are some heart–rending accounts of those who have dared to cross his path. He has destroyed families, separated children from their parents, wives from their husbands and sisters from their brothers. He has put up blood relations against one another to act as spies. It is like Big Brother watching you. Even hearsay has been punished severely. He has driven many members of his community to desperation and many among them have gone into oblivion, some have tried to finish their lives. Indeed, it must be crushing for a person, who after having been ex–communicated cannot bury his dear ones in the ancestral grave–yard and cannot expect even his close relations to commiserate with him. <p>“His mode of working is to strike terror in the minds of his followers. They dare not question the Syedna. Even the highly–placed among them obey him and his petty subordinates blindly. Any tax imposed or money demanded is paid obediently, although most members of the community are aware of the luxuries in which he and his family wallow. <br>“Yet, some community members have not stopped fighting against the Syedna’s dictatorship. More and more are joining them despite threats to them by their relatives and friends. They want the community’s conscience free. It goes to the credit of reformists that they have created an awakening even among those who once considered their cause hopeless. Even at the expense of all indignities and discriminations, their fortitude and determination remains undiminished. <br>“We had the privilege of meeting a few of them in the course of our hearings. Their faith in the righteousness of their cause sustains them. As days go by, their resolve is getting firmer and their optimism stronger. To the extent the rest of the community, more so the nation on the whole, responds to their sufferings, will depend the future of the reformists’ movement. They have borne the burden of Syedna’s tyranny for too long single-handed. The rest of the countrymen have to help them discipline Syedna and his musclemen. <p>“Our investigations have revealed that the Dowoodi Bohra Head Priest, Syedna Saheb, has made unbridled use of baraat against those who belong to the reformist Bohra Movement, their relations, their friends and those who associate themselves socially with them. The same is the fate of those who question the head priest’s personal takeover of the community and trust properties, the amounts collected by way of various levies, salaams, nazaranas and the sums obtained from those on whom he confers religious titles. Even such secular activities as the construction of a house, the starting of an association, co–operative society and launching of educational and medical institutions, etc., if done without his raza (permission) also attracted his wrath and consequential social boycott. So did reading of books/newspapers banned by the head priest. <p>“While examining the concept of misaq, we find that the working is so designed that it reduces a follower to the position of a bonded labourer to the head priest. The administration of oath by the head priest is violative of the provisions of Section 371 of Indian Penal Code as also of the provisions of Article 19 (I) of the Constitution. It is destructive of the human rights of the members of the Dawoodi Bohra community. The obedience to misaq is enforced by the threat of imposition of baraat. <p>“The imposition of baraat against a member amounts to much more than mere ex–communication. It involves blatant persecution of ordinary people, causing financial ruination, breaking marriages, snapping family relations and likes. Such punishment to a person by his caste, community or sect, is totally against the norms of human rights and civilised social existence. Since the head priest wields a clout in social, economic, political and religious affairs, it is difficult for an individual or group of individuals to match his sway. Therefore, it becomes a constitutional obligation of the state to protect human rights of such citizens in all respects”. <p>But nearly six years after the Tewatia Commission’s findings were made public, the Bohra head priest continues to treat his followers as bonded labour within the boundaries of free, democratic and secular India. <br>

Typical Bohri Wedding Card written in "Dawat Ni Zaban" for Bohri Sissy slaves imposed by "Burha" Burhanuddin - It's so funny and it symbolizes Burhannudin as an idol or god that is in need of worship! The wedding cards 5 to 10 years ago were not written to praise Burhannudin like a god. This card is so senseless and made even worse because it is written in"dumb" Dawat Ni Zaban. How dumb can the Bohras get by adopting this trash and forgetting the mighty Allah? Here it goes:

But during the mean time, one should adhere him/herself to code of ethics of civilized society.

Moharram and Ashra - It's a big feast for Burhanuddin and his mafia kothar - They run around all over the world to make the most money -Where is Burhanuddin going to be this year? How insane can a 93 year old person be? He is still meandering all over the world to make fat bucks in the name of Imam Hussain. I know that the fanatical Bohris are willing to scurry about the Earth this Mohrarram in search of Burhanuddin.
At every event whether it can be a birthday for the baby, wedding, death or daris Burhanuddin and his kotharis have imposed matam. This is absolutely wrong because matam should only be set aside for the month of Moharram (Like we use to do before the new imposed "fatwa"). By doing matam everyday Moharram has less significance. Also, the excessive matam has caused people to do matam as if they are relentlessly beating on their chests without any meaning. Bohri people just do it because they have to under the dictatorship of kothar and the watchful eyes of the community.
Burhanuddin and his chamchas have imposed matam for their materialistic interests. The scheme they have developed allows Burhanuddin or any mulla to not have to preach much and spend the majority of the time sitting on their "Ass" watching bohri flocks matam. I'm sure Burhanuddin and his agents get tickeled inside because they eagerly await the moment after the Bohri flock is exhausted and ready to dump cash into the kothar's greedy hands.

This year Bohra priesthood did everything possible to turn Moharram into a gala celebration. And succeeded. The cult of Burhanuddin was in full display, politicians were invited and feasts were had. Few remembered Imam Hussain and his supreme sacrifice!!!.
The month of Moharram in the Islamic calendar commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (A.S.), the grandson of the founder of Islam, the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh). Imam Hussein is widely revered by all Muslim communities without any exception. Even many Hindus in India mourn with high emotional intensity, the tragic death of Imam Hussein and his 72 relatives and companions who were brutally killed on the 10th day of Moharram.
But it is most unfortunate that the Dawoodi Bohras who are Shi'as and have great devotion for Hazrat Ali (A.S.) and his son Imam Husain, now-a-days under the leadership of their religious head, Mohd. Burhanuddin, literarlly celebrate the solemn days of Moharram rather than commemorating them.
As if it is a day of Eid, they happily call the 10th of Moharram as 'Ashara Mubarak' and celebrate it with fine colorful dresses (Indian Express describes them as "Women made a pretty picture in their colorful ridas - in baby pink, pale green, baby blue, lavender - embroidered with intricate floral patterns), lavish food with chicken biryani, ice-cream and sweets.
No Muslim leader anywhere in the world makes such vulgar show of his personality as Burhanuddin does, by stopping vaiz every where and compelling the followers to gather at just one place where he is delivering his sermons. Bohra shop owners are compelled to close down their shops, businessmen to suspend their business and students to miss their classes and exams for 9 days of Moharram and be present in the mosques to hear Burhanuddin's discourses. Crores of rupees are spent on relaying his lackluster vaiz in Bohra-populace all over the world. In Mumbai itself the discourses were relayed via satellite to more than 30 centers through 660 TV sets and 74 giant screens.
Bohra men and women kneeling down on the road at Bhindi Bazar, Mumbai with folded hands (like a slave) on Burhanuddin's arrival for vaiz. Mid-Day - March 10, 2003.
Burhanuddin's establishment invited media and TV channels persons with their cameras inside the mosques to cover the occasion and give it as much publicity as possible. The whole atmosphere in the Bohra locality was heavy with the cult and personality of Burhanuddin. No one, not even his representatives while sending press release ever talk about the tragedy of Karbala. They only talk about the Burhanuddin, falsely claiming that he is most concerned for India, for Muslims, for love, peace integrity and well-being of every individual in the world.
The fact is that Burhanuddin is not bothered even about the sufferings of his own followers. He and his establishment leave no occasion to exploit and squeeze money from his followers. Even for his Moharram sermons he charges amounts in crores of rupees as his Salam and then only he agrees to deliver his sermons at a place of his choice. Red carpets are rolled out all over the path for Burhanuddin as if he were a monarch and not a religious leader.
As in an RSS (the fundamentalist Hindu grassroots organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) camp the followers worship weapons like swords and trishool, Dawoodi Bohras worship Burhanuddin and Burhanuddin worships power and those who are in power.
Otherwise what was the reason of inviting the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shushil Kumar Shindhe alongwith other politicians inside the Bohra Mosque, interrupt Moharram sermons and allow them to speak over the mike showering praises for Burhanuddin, and that too on the 7th day of Moharram, when supply of water was stopped for the martyres of Karbala? On behalf of Burhanuddin the Chief Minister was thanked for moving the dates of S.S.C. and H.S.C. board examinations so that Bohra student can have 'didar' of their Burhanuddin.
'In this feast a community remembers a martyr.' Indian Express - March 10, 2003
Again India is a secular country. It is against the basic norms of secularism if the prime minister, or chief ministers and other ministers of the country become party to religious activities of one religious group or other and allow themselves to be 'used' by religious leaders.
The headings in the Indian Express in its 10th March 2003 issues says: 'At this feast, a community remembers a Martyr's death'. A large photograph of Bohras enjoying the feast is given. In another heading 'Reaffirming faith in a spiritual leader'. What a mockery of Moharram! Where is the concern for the greatest sacrifice Imam Husain and his supporters made for the cause of upholding principles of Islam? Where is the mention of simple God-fearing lifestyle of Ahle-bait?
In fact Yazid was condemned as he became the tyrant and exploited the followers of Islam for his personal glorification. Imam Husain opposed him sacrificing his life to expose him. Dawoodi Bohras should realise that Moharram is a month of condolence, reflection and humility not celebration. Other Shi'a vaizeen have criticised Burhanuddin in their speeches. Burhanuddin's luxurious lifestyle and exploitative way of functioning against the grain of a religious or spiritual leader. Who can be a true religious and spiritual person? History provides many examples from among earlier Bohra Dais as well as Muslims saints.
Take for example the life of a great Indian saint, Hazrat Nizamuddin Olia of Delhi. Even today he is revered with great respect by large number of Hindus and Muslims. A railway station in Delhi has been dedicated in his name. All through his life he followed the life of Hazrat Ali (A.S.). He used to observe fast in the daytime and used to eat pieces of dry breads dipped in water at night.
Renowned historian, musician and poet, Amir Khusro was a great devotee of Hazrat Nizamuddin. At the same time he was the courtier of various Sultans at Delhi. Hazrat Nizamuddin had seen the reign of five Sultans who tried their best to see that Nizamuddin Olia visit their Dabar. But like Hazrat Ali (A.S.) he had given triple divorce to this world, its wealth and its power. He refused the invitation and offer of everyone who was in power. Ultimately one Sultan suggested that as Nizamuddin Olia is not ready to come to his darbar he himself would go and pay a visit to Olia.
Khusro was asked to convey this message. When Khusro told Hazrat Nizamuddin he said "Khusro go and tell your Sultan that my Khankah (settlement) has two doors. If your Sultan enters from one door I will walk out from the other.
This is how a true religious and spiritual person remains away from worldly desires and pays no heed to those who are in power. They do not fear anyone except God and do not seek favour from any one except from God. They remain careful in not getting corrupt by any worldly power. Once Khusro asked Hazrat Nizamuddin as to why he eats dry bread pieces when in his own Khankah delicious foods are cooked and distributed among people. Hazrat replied, "This food is supplied by the rich and wealthy in your Sultan's court. I have nothing to gain from them. So why should I take their obligation?"
Compare Burhanuddin's royal lifestyle with Hazrat Ali-like-life of Nizamuddin Olia and decide for yourself who is right?

1. When will Burhanuddin select a new heir to lead the future Bohri Empire? He is at an age where he may pass away soon (as much as other Bohris pray for him to live forever they must come to realize that this is physically impossible and we don't want a day of quiyamat tomorrow).
2. Why does Burhanuddin constantly travel all over the world fervently collecting money from Bohri communities? Shouldn’t he take a break at this age?
3. How much money does Burhanuddin want to collect before he passes on? Isn't the current amount he has sufficient?
4. Why does Buhanuddin make the month of Muharram similar to a circus event where thousands of Bohris follow him around like sheep?
5. How can he collect millions of dollars during the sacred month of Muharram? Isn't he collecting money in the name of the greatest martyr, Imam Hussein?
6. Has there ever been a time when Burhanuddin's repetitive lackluster lecture has bored you to the point of dozing off for a brief moment? Be honest now!
7. How can Burhanuddin claim he is a dai when he doesn't exhibit any qualities of a dai? Aren't genuine dai's suppose to live a life without luxury, numerous quantity of material goods, and reaping a massive amount of money on almost every occasion of his life?
8. Why has Burhanuddin developed such a system where we must offer money every time to get permission, for burial purposes, marriage, naming ceremonies, new births, birthdays, and several other "rituals"? It wouldn't shock me if Burhanuddin required us to ask him permission for each time we shit, pee, or engage in sexual activity and don't forget we would have to offer him salam along the way.
9. Why did Burhanuddin invent the concept of "Daris?" Did he do it so he can indulge in fattening foods and make a fat stash of cash in the process?
10. Why does Burhanuddin intimidate his community by brainwashing and even indirectly threatening them if they fail to conform? As a result this type of harsh treatment from the hierarchies of the Kothar has made most Bohris timid and afraid to voice their concerns and opinions about the community. If you haven't noticed the Bohri community seriously lacks the mode of free speech. Without this vital tool Burhanuddin's business will only crumble in the near future.
