Six months after alleged attack on Syedna’s brother, Sunni complainant claims project undertaken by Borha-led trust using force to garner the required votes.

Five Bohras were arrested on Monday more than six months after Sunnis from the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust (SBUT) transit camp filed an FIR alleging assault and rioting, among several other offences, during the holy month of Ramzan in June.

Although they were arrested, the five accused – Murtuza Rangwala, Mustafa Soni, Ali Asgar, Shabbir and Tahir –were granted bail the very same day by the Sewri Metropolitan Magistrates Court.

The case dates back to June, when the present complainant, Sarfaraz Usman Lakdawala, was arrested along with his two brothers on charges of attempting to murder the current Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin’s brother, Qaid Johar, when the latter had come for Ramzan sermons in the SBUT transit camp in Ghodapdeo.

According to Lakdawala’s complaint, he was assaulted by more than 300 people of the Bohra community after the incident.

In his complaint against Johar, filed through advocate M A Khan, and several other Bohra community members, Lakdawala has alleged that the murder attempt was not over any ‘parking issue’ as claimed by the other side and that he could call for an investigation only after he secured bail.

During the bail arguments, Lakdawala had argued that no weapon was recovered from the spot despite the case being that he had wielded a knife

“It is seen that facilities under the law of the land are available to rich people only; for poor people like us, there is a different law to be applied. We feel this goes against the soul of the India Constitution,” reads Lakdawala’s complaint.

The present arrests were made based on the CCTV footage of the alleged murder attempt that was provided by Lakdawala.

More than meets the eye

The complaint further claims that the issue has its roots in the SBUT redevelopment project, where to garner support, people were allegedly forced by the management, which is headed by Johar.

“With a view to gather majority support from non-consenting residents from our locality, the SBUT management had resorted to using force,” reads the complaint letter.

Lakdawala’s complaint also claims that he had approached Johar only to talk of the redevelopment project but he was denied a meeting with him.

He also has alleged bias on the part of the Byculla Police, claiming that although he had approached the police first with the complaint, his complaint was not registered till the other side reached the station. Moreover, they were arrested, while no one from the opposite party was arrested until the arrest earlier this week. SBUT is the largest urban cluster renewal undertaking in the city. While work finally seems to have started in the first cluster, a lot of people had moved out as early as 2008. The project has faced severe opposition in the past as well, especially from non-Bohra’s and shopkeepers from Chor Bazaar.

Despite repeated attempts, SBUT was unavailable for comments.

दाहोद (दबंग समाचार ) बिते कल से सोशल मीडिया एवं गुजरात के समाचार पत्रो मे राजकोट के बोहरा समाज के समाचार पढ कर मै शर्मसार हो गया । मामला हे राजकोट के दाऊदी बोहरा समाज मे कोई चार माह की अबोध बालिका की बिमारी की वजह से मृत्यु हो गई । उस परिवार विशेष कर उस बालिका की माता पर क्या बिती होगी हम सहज ही अंदाज लगा सकते हे किन्तु उस बालिका के पिता की क्या मनोदशा हुई होगी यह सोच कर ही रोंगटे खड़े हो जाते हे । मै उस घटना से बहुत आहत ओर विचलित इस लिए हो गया की उस बालिका को सुपुर्द खाक की रजा स्थानीय आमिल ने नही दी वजह जो भी हो हम उसकी गहराई मे नही जाना चाहते किन्तु आमिल जो दिन दुनिया दोनो की पढाई कर इस पद तक पहुचते हे जिन्हे यह ज्ञान भी हे की मृत्यु पश्चात मय्यत को रखना अजाब हे इस्लाम की किताबे पढने वाले तखत पर बैठ कर वायज फरमाने वाले किबले मे खड़े हो कर बयान करने वाले आमिल ने दफन की रजा नही देकर इन्सानियत को तार तार कर दिया । आमिल कि ऐसी हिन हरकत से तो समाज जनो का ऐसे आमिलो से विश्वास ही उठ जाऐगा मुझे समझ नही आ रहा हे कि आमिल ऐसे किस मदरसे मे ऐसे किस स्कुल मे ऐसी पढाई करते हे ऐसी कोन सी कालेज हे जहा इन्सानियत की जगह हैवानियत का पाठ पढाया जा रहा हे ? क्यु आमिल इतने कठोर हो गये हे क्यु इस्लाम को भुल कर बाते करने लग गये हे क्या ऐसे आमिलो का इमान सिर्फ संपति हे सिर्फ पैसा ही हे पैसो की खातिर आमिल इस हद तक गिर गए हे कि वे मासुम के जनाजे को रोक रहे हे क्यो ऐसे बिमार दिमाग आमिलो को इतना महत्व दिया जा रहा हे कयु उन पर भारतीय संविधान की धाराओ का उपयोग नही किया जा रहा हे भारतीय संविधान मे भी उल्लेख हे की चाहे जो भी वजह हो किसी की मय्यत न रोकी जा सके किसी की लाश की ऐसी फजीहत न करवाई जा सके ऐसा करने वालो के खिलाफ प्रकरण बनता हे व वे सजा एवं जुर्माने के पात्र हे । किसी की मय्यत या किसी के निकाह रोकना भी अपराध की श्रेणी मे आता हे इतना कानून क्या राजकोट के बोहरा समाज को नही मालुम क्यो वहा के समाजजनो ने उक्त आमिल को इन्सानियत का पाठ नही पढाया ऐसे आमिल किमै निंदा करता हु समाज जन बैचारे करे भी तो क्या करे क्युकी हर स्थान पर समाज जन मे कुछ स्वार्थ पसंद लोग आमिलो की चमचागिरी कर अपना स्वार्थ सिद्ध करते हे इनकी ऐसी हरकतो से आमिल बिगड़ते हे बल्कि स्वयं ऐसे लोग ऐसा करने पर उकसाते हे वही आमिलो को स्व विवेक से सोचना चाहिए शायद आमिल नही जानते की उनकी ऐसी हरकत कभी उन्हे सलाखो के पिछे बैठा सकती हे ये तो अच्छा हुआ मानव अधिकार आयोग नही जागा वर्ना राजकोट के आमिल की जमानत मुश्किल हो जाती ।
