Melbourne, Sydney both cities are without Amils for now almost a year. Jamaat are trying and trying.

Melbourne Amils visa expired and was not renewed.

Sydney Amil to replace the detained previous Amil was in application process but was not finalized.

New temporary Amil from Houston did not arrive in January.

Auckland public protested to NZ government about their Amil who was pain in the butt for them .he was about to be asked to leave from NZ . He visited Melbourne and Sydney and there was possibility he will try to shift.he was unsuccessful. I understand he has been granted 2 years stay in NZ.

AU and NZ reformists can work together.

After lobbying and good fortune and coincidences

Religious Worker Sub Clas 428 is abolished since 2015.(note the year ! big news in Australia, terrorism, fgm )

New visa requirements

Note it is clear Amil cannot collect funds demand payment directly. Failure to comply means breach of visa.

Shezada cannot come on visitors visa and preach, mission, or preform formal sermons It is a criminal offence
A Minister of Religion for immigration purposes includes; Chaplains, Imams, Monks, Priests, Rabbis and Salvation Army Officers.

They usually have to have a skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification. The occupation in this unit group requires high levels of personal commitment and interest as well as, or in place of, formal qualifications or experience.

The tasks that they undertake must show experience in the following:

preparing and conducting services of public worship and acknowledgments of faith
preparing and delivering sermons, homilies and special talks, and planning music for services
participating in the social and welfare activities of communities, encouraging people to be aware of their responsibilities, and organising participation in community projects
conducting classes of religious instruction, and supervising prayer and discussion groups, retreats and seminars
conducting premarital and family counselling and referring people to professional service agencies where necessary
performing marriages, funerals and special memorial services according to tradition and ecclesiastical and civil law
visiting members of the community in their homes, hospitals and other institutions to provide advice and religious comfort
Since 1 July 2015 religious organisations must sign up to the Minister of Religion Industry Labour Agreement before lodging a nomination for the Agreements Stream of the Employer Nomination Scheme, or to become a sponsor for the Subclass 457 visa temporary work visa.

It is also important to note that there are no longer exemptions under the age, skill and language requirements that applied under the previous visa streams pre 1 July 2015.

Minister of religion labour agreement

This page provides information specific to requesting a minister of religion labour agreement and should be read in conjunction with the information guide Information about requesting a labour agreement (116KB PDF).

A minister of religion labour agreement is the only pathway which allows overseas skilled workers to work in the occupation of minister of religion.
The minister of religion labour agreement allows Australian religious organisations to sponsor the temporary and permanent entry of overseas skilled workers. The terms and conditions of the agreement have already been established and are non-negotiable.

Minister of religion labour agreement

A minister of religion labour agreement is the only pathway which allows overseas skilled workers to work in the occupation of minister of religion.
The minister of religion labour agreement allows Australian religious organisations to sponsor the temporary and permanent entry of overseas skilled workers. The terms and conditions of the agreement have already been established and are non-negotiable.
Key settings
Visa subclass
Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457)

Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186), either where an overseas worker has held a subclass 457 visa as a primary visa holder, for a minimum period of two years, or through the subclass 186 Agreement stream.
The final decision on which visa pathway is appropriate will be made based on the religious organisation’s business case.
Religious organisations
Defined as per Regulation 1.03 of the Migration Regulations 1994:

the activities reflect that it is a body instituted for the promotion of a religious object
the beliefs and practices of the members of which constitute a religion due to those members:
believing in a supernatural being, thing or principle
accepting the canons of conduct that give effect to that belief, but that do not offend against the ordinary laws
meet the requirements of section 50-50 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997
their income must be exempt from income tax under section 50-1 of that Act.
Religious organisations must provide with their request a detailed organisational structure.
English language A concession to the English language proficiency requirement applies. Overseas skilled workers must meet one of the following English language proficiency requirements:
demonstrate an average test score of at least 5.0 in an International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or an equivalent accepted test
hold a valid passport from one of the following countries:
Canada
New Zealand
The Republic of Ireland
The United Kingdom
The United States of America
have completed at least five cumulative years of full-time study in a secondary and/or higher education institution where instruction was conducted in English.
A further concession to English language proficiency requirements might be considered where the visa holder will be directly serving the needs of an ethnic group and interaction within the wider Australian society will be limited – for example they are working in a cloistered or monastic environment.
Occupation
Religious organisations can only nominate the occupation of minister of religion (Skill level 1 - ANZSCO 272211).

The nominee is required to have a leadership role within the organisation. We will consider the size of the organisation and its workforce composition if more than one overseas nominee is proposed by the Australian employer.
Religious organisations must provide, with their request, the following supporting information:
title of position within their faith tradition
duty statement for the position
a copy of an employment contract.
Skills, qualifications and experience
Ministers of religion must have:

been 'ordained' or have ‘professed to a religious life’ as a minister of religion (or equivalent accreditation process within the faith tradition), and
minimum qualifications equivalent to a relevant Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) bachelor degree, or
undertaken at least five years of relevant structured training or instruction. Experience does not meet this criterion.
Religious organisations must provide, with their request, details of the ordination process, training structure and minimum qualifications for the role of minister of religion.
Age
Visa applicants must be no more than 60 years of age at time of visa application for a subclass 186 visa.

Further concessions might be considered where there is not a tradition of retirement within the faith tradition and where the needs of aged religious workers continue to be met by the religious organisation without recourse to the aged pension.
No age requirements apply when applying for a subclass 457 visa only.
Salary
Overseas ministers of religion must receive terms and conditions of employment that are no less favourable than that provided to an Australian minister of religion working in the same role in the same location.

The minimum salary (for both subclasses 457 and 186) must be either:
no less than the temporary skilled migration income threshold (TSMIT) - monetary or non-monetary benefits might be considered in the calculation of TSMIT
where a vow of poverty is required by the wider religious organisation for the occupation, the sponsor attests that overseas workers will be provided equivalent terms and conditions to that of Australians in the same occupation in the sponsoring organisation and will provide all living needs, including board and lodging, health, education, welfare and any other costs incurred by the minister of religion.
Religious organisations must provide evidence of remuneration that is paid to, or would be paid to, an Australian in the same role and location.
Other
Employers are asked to identify nominees at the time of request.

Employers will not be required to:
undertake stakeholder consultation when requesting a labour agreement
provide evidence of meeting training benchmark requirements and obligations
provide evidence of domestic recruitment efforts.

Any zada or Saheba e dawat arriving on visitor visa collecting funds should be reported for visa breach. He she will be arrested, detained charged and deported.
http://www.border.gov.au/Busi/Trav/Conf#
This information is for you if:

you are organising an international event, conference or meeting in Australia involving international speakers, participants, competitors and performers
you have been invited to speak at, perform in, compete in, or attend an international event, conference or meeting in Australia.
Collapse all
Major events
Australia will be hosting the following major events:

2017 Rugby League World Cup
Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games
2020 ICC World Twenty20
Further information will be available closer to the event dates.
Spectators and supporters planning to visit Australia for these events should use the Visa Finder to find out about which visas are available to them.
The International Event Coordinator Network
The International Event Coordinator Network (IECN) provides free advice on visas to event organisers on the following types of events:

business or academic meetings, conferences and seminars
sporting tournaments, championships and games
trade shows, expos and fairs
cultural festivals
religious events.
The IECN cannot assist you with personal events such as graduation ceremonies, birthday parties, weddings or attendance at interviews or exams.
Event organisers and participants
We can provide advice on visa and border requirements for organising committees managing conferences and events in Australia where there are international participants attending.

If your organisation is involved in the coordination or facilitation of an event involving international participants and delegates (including any contractors/workforce), providing us with advanced notice of events will assist us to provide timely advice to all parties associated with the event. This will also assist participants to apply for the correct visas and if they are eligible, be granted a visa in time for the event. We can also provide relevant information on import and export requirements in relation to baggage, equipment and other goods for these events.
All visitors to Australia must have a valid visa to travel to and enter Australia. New Zealand passport holders do not usually need to lodge a visa application prior to their departure unless they have health and/or character concerns.

The International Event Coordinator Network can help participants choose the appropriate visa.
How can event organisers help with the visa application process?
For the best possible chance of hosting a successful event in Australia, event organisers should:
register events with the International Event Coordinator Network (IECN) by completing the IECN Enquiry Form in the event planning stage or as early as possible.
enquire with the IECN about information fact sheets that may be relevant to your type of event.
advise participants to visit our website to find information about which visa they may be eligible for.
advise participants of Australia's health and character requirements, which they will have to meet as part of the visa application process.
provide participants with confirmation of their registration, or a letter of invitation, to attend the event.
provide the IECN with a participant list.
What can event participants do to help with the visa application process?
For the best possible chance of obtaining a visa to travel to Australia to attend an event, you should determine which visa you should apply for, making sure that the visa allows for the purpose of visit to Australia. For example:
attendees, amateur performers, and volunteers (who will not be paid to participate, other than to be reimbursed for reasonable expenses such as accommodation and meals) may be eligible for a Visitor visa.
invited participants and speakers (whose principle intent is to impart information/facts) might be eligible for a Temporary Activity visa (subclass 408) as an invited participant in an event.
performers, entertainers, and other persons intending to work in the entertainment industry in Australia (including, but not limited to, directors and producers) might be eligible for a Temporary Activity visa (subclass 408) in an entertainment activity.
workers (including, but not limited to, exhibit installers, constructors of stands/event products, supervisors and organisers) might be eligible for a Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) visa (subclass 400).
Other important things to note:
apply for your visa in advance to allow for variances in processing times.
consider Australia's health and character requirements, which you may have to meet as part of the visa application process.
ensure you obtain a confirmation of your registration, or a letter of invitation, to attach to your visa application.
participants required to lodge paper-based visa applications should do so at the Australian visa office nearest to their current country of residence.
The International Event Coordinator Network might not be able to help if participants do not lodge their visa applications within recommended timeframes.

Ozi bhai good on you. With the advent of technology we do not need a priest in Sydney and I agree with you 200%.
We also need to tackle few more problems encountered by locals.

Reporter Raju writes;

The sydneysiders are waking up from a deep slumber. They have just caught up that every time Sydney Jamaat sends out majlis email it always ends with “ Te baad aap saghla ne Niyaz na Jaman nu ezzan che, Mehmaan sathe”.

Hum log atithi ko bhagvan ke roop mante hey lekin Sydney me ye logo mathe pe char bese hey. The question being asked is; who is Mehmaan? Jab me chota tha tab meree dadi kahati thi ke Mehmaan teen deen ke liye, uske baad they smell like corpes.

In Sydney we have more Mehmaan than the locals. These people come and stay put, not for ten days but for months and even year. Once the parents and siblings go then come the in-laws and other siblings. There is no limit and they expect the locals to carry them on top of their own small families.

Sydney Jamaat Members, please wake up. How long will this last? Your Masjid is over flowing with these Mehmaans.

Niyaz now costs between $3,000 and $4,000 depending on the auspicious raat. Before only one family used to cater for niyaz. Now four families get together to do a niyaz and this puts strain on family finances. The number of families have grown exponentially and very soon six families might have to get together and cater for niyaz. So Niyaz committee please note and take action and specially please don’t blackmail mumeen for niyaz. This should be done on hub not force and blackmail.

The masjid needs repairs but the repairs and maintenance of the masjid is ignored. No one except a couple of committee members know where the sabeel money goes. The rumors are that the ex amil is still being paid his salary and rent for his confinement house as well as his court costs from the sabeel money. There is no smoke without fire. There is a huge influx of professionals earning in excess of $150,000 a year driving brand new expensive cars. Yet these people hardly pay any sabeel and if they do, its just a token money. So Committee members of Sydney Jamaat its time to make sabeel fair and more equitable.

I lived few years in Melbourne and I found them cool people, they tend to respect all people. whats wrong with Sydney?

Precisely Riwanbhai, there is nothing wrong in 6-10 families getting together to do a Niyaz. Please convince Sydney Niyaz Committee who at the moment only allow 3 families and it does blackmail us to comply. By the way when you use comparison, make sure you compare apples with apples. I am sure you are intelligent enough to know that.

This is interesting. i wish these rules of importing amils also applies to Houston, u.s. jamaat. After Mufaddals brother was given a gift of a house for him and his family and the whole population of bohris was brainwashed by him to the extent that his 70 year olds were seen bowing down to his 11 year old son. He was in the limlight all the time. Where is he now? Houston jamaat needs the whip of New Zealand.

how stupid a can one get, being carried away because Pakistan won. It is just a sports and let it stay at that. Celebrating in the house of Allah for a sports occasion has nothing to do with praying.
Secondly , now that Muffy is headed to U.K. i wonder will he be under the same scrutiny as the zadas. Will he be tested in the international English language to see if he can get a test score of 5.0. Will he be collecting cash najwas in London, and money laundering ziafats where big business takes place in the name of offering huge wajebaats.
does he have a u.k. Canadian, U.S. or Australian passport?

Don't quite get this. Why is Pakistanis cheering their nation's victory equal to abusing India? And why should they leave DB community for that?

Because with the cheering they used abusive words towards India as well.

I don't see what the problem is? It's a sport. And in sports, people cheer for their team.
The Janabsaab was also there, and being an Indian, I think he was being a good sport.
Don't get so worked up for nothing.
