She probably "orchestrated" her own death just like Sunni Idiots have spewn over and over on this board.
May Allah rest her soul in eternal peace. Amen..

I have never replied to your postings but your last post is very uncivilized and pathetic in nature. She was a Muslim and overall a human being.
With this kind of comment you have left no distinction between the Al Qaida terrorists and you. Both are racist and do not care what happens to other side

I think it was Al-Qida. Now Musharraf will have to postpone elections for the sake of peace and stability. So much for democracy in Pakistan.

pakistani politics are too murky to read very easily. it could be the islamic extremists backed by al qaeda, or it could be the ISI. whatever it may be, she certainly was unable to read the situation very clearly and paid dearly.

may God rest her soul in peace. she certainly didn't deserve this.

as for turbo, yr comment was way out of line, completely heartless and betrays your paranoia with everything sunni. if u think they are bad, you are even worse! i have never encountered any ismaili as militant as u and since u come here as a representative of the ismaili community and argue on their behalf, you are definitely giving them a very bad name. not only that, u are a disgrace to your respected leader, the MHI.

Extremists and militants words are fine, but Islamic should not be used with them.

whoever does unjust killings have nothing to do with Islam.

Media uses this word everytime and being muslims, we should atleast try and avoid using such a derogatory word with Islam or Muslim.

Oma bahen, i guess you have a short memory span. It was the darling of this board Anajmi himself who said in one of his earlier post that the last attempt on her life was probably orcestrated by herself. i didnt say it. so dear, please calm down and wake up. i was merely staing what was already spewn out. You watch it, the real terrorists will start blaming from Mossad to the Syedna for her death.

Al Zulfiqar, please read my response to Omabhartis posting. I was merely recalling what was said by Anajmi in one of his earlier postings, which is available upon searching the archives. No one makes light of death, and my comment should not have been taken as offensive, although i can see why you felt that way. This has been a great loss not only to Pakistan but the world at large.

Tragic and shocking, one can only hope that she may achieve through her death what she was unable to do in life, promote democracy and constitutional rule of law, which I believe is the greatest impediment to extremists and offers the best opportunity for Pakistans future.

Benazir's death is very tragic indeed. The fools who killed her do not realize how much this will destabilize not only Pakistan but the region as a whole. Benazir's association with the West was such anathema to them, that they didn't think how she would have been an able administrator, certainly more responsible than Musharraf has been. I was a child in Karachi during the administration of her father and remember her well.

Friends: I was shocked since morning, when I heard the news of her assissination. May her soul rest in peace. I have only read Saifuddin and Al Zulfiqar's comments.

I cannot describe my feelings, I had once met her at her 70 clifton residence, when she had just come form exile in 1986. As I said before, in her we could see, Bhutto coming back. With all her misgivings and shortcomings, she was the last hope of the people of pakistan.

It is such a tragic incident, her whole family is gone, her father hanged, her two brothers murdered, one in her own government.

Pakistani politics is too complex, her killers could be any one, agencies, taliban, family or .... .

Safiuddin, i stand corrected, even though my comment was tongue in cheek, reiterating what was already said on the forum by someone else, i should have known better. Once again, a precious life has been lost to intolerance. May Allah grant Benazir Bhutto eternal peace, and her perpetrators "Nek Taufeek"

May her soul rest in peace. Benazir Bhutto was Shia and that might be one of the reason of her killing. As all of you have seen the sectarian voilence in pakistan has claimed many prominent figures from both sects. May Almighty Allah give us guidance to leave in peace and prosperity. Ameen.

I knew there was a reason to kill her and it was bacause she was 'Shia'.

This is the first time I have learned that she was shia. Her mother was Iranian.

There is no reason to kill anyone, unless it's in self-defense when your life is imminently threatened.

Benazir would have made such a difference in Pakistan and the world - but her murderers just couldn't see past their own radical, crazy version of what should happen. And what has her killing accomplished?
Rioting, murder, and chaos all over Pakistan . . .this is progress?

India is probably on high alert, Afghanistan is falling into the hands of Talibani fundamentalist jaahils, and the rest of the Middle East is holding its breath.

Now the Pakistanis gvmnt is saying that she died when she hit her head as she entered her vehicle. Utter nonsense and garbage. A fatal head injury is highly unlikely when getting into a car because the amount of force necessary to fracture the skull and cause internal hemmorhage/damage is not present. Even a gunshot to the head would probably not have caused the skull to slam against the inside of the car - because she was shot while she was standing in the open sunroof.

It was only after she was hit that she collapsed into the interior of the vehicle. Why the Pakistanis are forwarding this argument makes no sense, unless they want to downplay the fact that she was shot by a gun. The gun is clearly visible in the video released by the Pakistanis and broadcast last night on CNN.

Brother Muslim First.

Benazir Bhutto's mother Nusrat Bhutto was Iraqui. Her cousin's are in Saudi Arabia (Shia populated Saudi Arabian City Qateef in Eastern Province). Benazir Bhutto's aunty has arranged a condolance meeting at her resident (in arabic it call Azaa). As per Arabic daily newspaper " Al Hayat" she has recall the history of Sabunji family who used to export soaps to middle east from India. Nusrat Bhutto was part of that family. There are many intresting facts about the family highlighted in said article.

Nusrat bhutto was Kurdish Iranian. One of Nusrat bhutto's sister is married to Dr.Yahya A Bohra. I have heard her speaking farsi on many occassion. It is very difficult to say, whether Nusrat or any of her family members practice shiism. I have never seen any such activity during muharram at 70 clifton. Asif is a staunch shia, and he arranges majalis at his residence. But I have heard that nusrat bhutto was a shia.

zulfiqar ali bhutto was a sunni, he practiced sufi islam, as many of the sindhis do. sufi islam is very close to shiism, and claims its ancestry from ahle bait.

I do not think, she was killed because she was a shia. Her death is a complex phenomenon. She was suddenly becoming too powerful, and unobstructable in her endeavours. The powers were really threatened and the establishment could not afford to let her in PM house again.

I may be wrong, but I was under the Impression that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a Twelver Shia, who married an Iranian, his daughter Benazir Bhutto was shrewd enough to articulate herself more in a Sunni light to appeal to a wider audience.

Bhutto was most likely killed as she was close to the west not because she was Ithna Ashariyya (though we can not discount that being a factor). Neither do I believe it was because she was going to directly bring democracy, and accountability to Pakistan.

With respect to members of this board we must acknowledge that both Benizir Bhutto and Nawaz Shariff have proven themselves inept, elitist and corrupt leaders of Pakistan. They were not ideal choices to save Pakistan, but the hope was that through the democratic process Pakistan would slowely but surely move toward accountability, and extremists were likely to be marginalised.

The appointment now of her 19 year old son, as co shairmen of the PPP, and her husband who has been convicted of corruption only goes to highlight the dynastic system of government in Pakistan. Unlike India Pakistan has never enacted a land reform programme and so Pakistan remains a feudal society, where feudal lords fill their own pockets.
