false belief of bieng progressive, open ur eyes u will see the
Love for its people in the eyes of sayedna (T.U.S). U call ur self

person on whom Lakhs & lakhs of poeple hv faith. Faith cannot be
forced on any one it comes from within the heart. as for ur false propoganda on misaq & other things remember if u want to be part
of comunity u hv to follow its rules & regulation. u cannot free

Re: Misguided Souls
The reason why you are in the community is that you were born in it. You may come to love the Dai. I am all for that. You may think that Heaven can only be attained through him.Originally posted by truebohra:

My Christian friend loves and honors the Pope. He believes there is no salvation except through him, the only living representative of Christ on earth.
Both points of view and equally valid for the individual practitioners of their faith.
Enlightened persons will see that there is really no need to get attached to any one of the hundreds of similar views. They are self-created delusions. At their core are fear of being left alone. Religions are based on fear.
Fear is false. Allah cannot asbandon you. He canot abandon his very self.

I agree, therefore, the Misaq should not be necessary.
can u say that i will not follow the constitution of india & still want the citizen ship
You then acknowledge that the Bohra community is setup like a political entity (a government wihin a government) and not a religious entity.

Re: Misguided Souls
At least you do understand that Faith cannot be enforced on anyone. Maybe you should tell your Dai and his mafia this.Originally posted by truebohra:

In the Progressive Dawoodi Bohra, nothing is enforced on people. Those who are committed do it out of the sincerity of their heart.
As for the other thing you said, stop being and idiot and Think before you speak. Do you think if the Constitution of India ask for your complete submission and slavery (pretty much like communism)…do you think people will accept it without objecting?

To Truebohra
I am a dawoodi bohra. I like you was born into the community and its doctrines and practises. I go to the masjid, pay my wajebaat and sabil and superficially everything is fine! But Increasingly as i have sought to learn more about my true heritage and the reasons behind our practises and customs i have felt increasingly marginalised. I am proud to call myself dawoodi bohra but cannot reconcile myself with some of our customs and the secretive nature of the ways our communities are run. This is the 21st century and yet we have are archaic in the way we manage ourselves. We have a system where cronyism and favour trading is rife. This leads to corruption. I agree that to be a member of a 'club' you have to follow its rules, but as members we also have a DUTY to be couragous enough to reform those rules when they no longer fit the times. Our rules, the secrecy, the cronyism, the purchase of titles, the fiscal support of a burgeoning 'royal family' that doesn't really add any value. We have a caste system in all but name. Do you truly agree that these practises do justice to our society? Our people need to emancipate themselves. We need to belive that it is NOT WRONG to question. We have a right to that. Until we gain more transparency the schism in our community will continue to grow not shrink. You are the old school, I am the new school. Its time we changed, its time we reformed from within. But we cannot because we are all too chicken s$%t and so use this forum with its anonymity to disclose our true feelings. THIS ISSUE WILL NOT GO AWAY. You can say what you like but when you diss these reformists you are dissing your dawoodi brother too because I have these feelings too but am too intimidated to reveal them to my people.
