I am just curious to know that how come a "HAFIZUL Quran"needed an arabic translator when he visited Sheikh sabah's Mahal.I thought he must be fluent in arabic because he quoets everything from Quran.i saw it on malumaat.com that there was an arabic translator who translated whatever shiekh was saying to aqua mola.

I've personally heard Syedna delivering a speech to a group of Yemeni bohras. I can't vouch for the perfectness of his Arabic but to claim that he cannot converse in Arabic in my opinion is misplaced criticism.

By the way, just for your info, the arabs in the AGCC speak with a local Bedouin dialect which is much different from the Fasih (Pure) spoken arabic that is common to the arab world such as Egypt.

Arabic spoken in the AGCC countries is full of slang.. Simply like the enligh spoken in ghettos in the US and normal english spoken by others..

I mentioned about the “accent”, which was no way near Arabic accent (sorry I misspeld in my last post). I never mentioned, Sydena was delivering Arabic speech reading through Gujrati script.

When we talk about Ulema-e-Karam, we expect that their grasp on Arabic knowledge is superior than commoner Muslims as they study the language over the period of time through most learned teachers and scholars. When we talk about Sydena, he holds several Ph.D. degrees from different universities including one from Al-Azher (per my knowledge).

Regarding question 1: HOw would a muslim woman look? Well, you probably wouldnt know as you are barely muslim. forget being Mumin.

I am also a dawoodi Bohra and following each and every rasm including safai ni chithi,Razaa,Saaya and many other things but frankly speaking i don't like to do them i am doing it forcibly.I have to do it because i don't want my parents to face BARAAT AND SALAAM BANDH etc etc.

I studied Arabic for one year and I can vouch for the fact that Arabic dialects are not communicative. I had a Yemeni teacher who was somewhat of an expert of classical Arabic poetry and prose who admitted that if he didn't watch Egyptian TV and listen to Egyptian radio he would not understand their dialect. I speak Fusha, classical Arabic, but I do not understand Egyptians, Iraqis, Lebanese, etc. Although I am not Bohra any more it is incorrect to assume that because he required a translator therefore he can not speak Arabic.

Syedna has a Gujarati accent when he speaks in Arabic? What kind of accent do you expect him to have? Chinese? Ayatollah Sistani has a Persian accent when he speaks Arabic. That doesn't prevent him from being a spiritual leader to mainly Arabic-speaking Shias.

Unfortunately your problem with "accent" has little to do with the above. The Arabic knowledge you are talking about is classical Arabic, in order to understand the language of the Quran and early texts, not modern Arabic or local dialects.

Syedna does not hold PhDs - he holds honorary doctorates, which as the term implies, are honorary degrees not academic.
