A true beacon of hope for Muslim women.......
didnt matter if she was a Shia, the main thing is that she did what she WANTED to do, not dictated by the Male Ulema of Bahrain.....In a country where the foreign minister is Jewish and other Gold medal winners include Kenyan born Africans, its truly a step forward.....You go Girl!! now only if you would bring home the GOLD medal.!!

In 2004, Bahrain's Ruqaya Al Ghasara, a devout Muslim, was the first athlete to ever take part in an Olympics wearing a hijab.
Beveqoof;

do you know what "a devout Muslim" means?

MF,

Its a good thing that a muslim woman is doing what whe wants to do on an international stage. That raises a very serious question.

If she was your daughter would you allow her to dress like that in front of thousands of people, males included, and take part in the olympics? It defeats the very purpose why hijab was introduced by your folks, doesn't it? Is this kind of clothing allowed according to your beliefs?

It is good to have positive read positive stories. I hope that a progressive, tolerant, and peaceful Islam continues to win the battle against the intolerant and conservative elements.

Hijab has origin in Qur'an and Sunnah of Prophet SAW of Muslims.

By your response (Your flols)I can surmise that Ismailis have distanced themselves from Islam.

They have good examples in half naked wives and womenfolks.

MF,

It was my understanding that a Hijab is designed to cover the body as not to expose its contour. Are the Wahabis now going to simply accept long sleeves, head scarf and long pants or skirts ?

It would help if you also paste the captions. Who are these people and what function/occasion is it?

Besides I asked you if this Ruqaya girl was your daughter, would you approve of her dressing and taking part in Olympics? According to your screwed up logic even taking part in Olympics, male or female, would be against Islam, wouldn't it?

Thanks for posting the links to the video of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of my Imam's 50 years of Imamat.

I don't see anything that would amount to shirk it 'em. Then again you are the lord incarnate in this world and can declare anything as shirk that you don't like.

What is shirk is being in the presence of your masters and accepting them as your kings.

So is taking part in the Olympics or patronizing it allowed in Islam? Also posting pictures and images of people, let alone of women, allowed in your faith?

You do not even know what Shirk is.

My daughter can compete in any sport so long as she is dressed like MHI's women.

50 years of Imamat, numerous art galleries, numerous schools, and still not a single ayah of the quran interpreted.
