To the idiotic dumb Ghetas of Dai who are made to believe that Bohras were not targeted during 2002 due to the so called dua, barkat and azeem shaan of their Dai, herein below is an article from Times of India which appeared in 2002 which gives a synopsis of what happened in ONE city alone !! There are numerous such instances of Bohras being attacked, looted and their establishments burnt in the ENTIRE Gujarat :-

BJP and Modi let us down, say Bohras

Rajkot: The peace-loving and trading community of bohras in Rajkot believe that they have all the reasons to be unhappy with the ruling BJP and the Chief Minister Narendra Modi whom they voted for just a week before riots erupted. "we have given everything that the BJP and Modi demanded for during the electioneering and yet this is what they gave us in return" was the common refrain when this correspondent talked to a cross section of the community.

As many as 200 shops and 20 houses were destroyed by mobs in the aftermath of the Godhra tragedy. It is also no secret by now that a senior BJP leader from the city who was spearheading the election campaign of Modi, in close co-ordination with the RSS had systematically targeted the community, their trading houses and homes. "It was neither by default nor mob fury. It was a systematically orchestrated plan to inflict injury on the community" said a senior Bohra community leader wishing anonymity for obvious reasons. He said the BJP leader constantly contacted the RSS cadre in the city through mobile phones and instructed on the next target for mob fury. Even a BJP leader confirmed this act and remarked "things are beyond our control. the remote control is somewhere else ."

The community, virtually living in fear, are keeping a low profile. Ammel saheb Kauserali at the Noor Masjid in the old Rajkot area told TNN "The loss to our business is running into crores." The head of Dawoodi Bohra community Syedna saheb declined to comment on any controversial issue, but said "let allah give them sense. why punish innocent people? instead punish those who perpetrated the crime."

When asked what would be their next step, Kauserali said "Ask for dua for peace and tranquillity. We allowed the BJP to organise a meeting and Congress was also allowed to express their views. while no fiat was issued, the final voting decision was left to individuals." Ameel saheb was, however, critical of the role of the Police Commissioner Upendra Singh, who "failed to act in time that could have saved some property and houses."

However, some other members of the community were more forthcoming. "we have been wronged for no fault of ours and despite the fact that the community stood solidly behind Modi, he failed to stand by us in our times of crisis." The community members do not rule out the involvement of "someone from within" in the attacks. a community leader said "otherwise, how was it possible that shops even without a signboard were looted? It is amply clear that someone from within the community was guiding the mobs." When contacted, BJP leader Vijay Rupani said "the riots which spread like wildfire after 4 pm could be the handiwork of unknown people." Defending the acts of the VHP, Rupani said that "it could be that the bohras were targeted as their names and surnames were similar to the ones of the Muslim community."

Dawedar Mr Muffadul Saifuddin (DMMS) is perhaps unique in history of dawaat in that he is celebrating non-stop, 365 days a year, 12-14 hours a day. All day long he roams around in horse-drawn buggies, expensive cars, with music and funny-hatted people doing tamasha in front of him. He keeps traveling as he needs new audience in case the old ones get bored. I mean, he does not even spare the solemn occasion of Muharram, and rides in a AC six-horse carriage, while Imam Hussain bled hungry and thirsty in Karbala.

Of course, his fanatical followers will continue to lick his boots independent of how absurd his behavior gets. Perhaps that is what they deserve.

It seems that Muffy is on a road grabbing spree as he has not only bought the above mentioned road in Ahmedabad but is also trying to grab Dhaboo street near Raudat Tahera in Bhendi Bazar where too he is bound to face stiff resistance from the locals. In the past he tried to grab the road near Surat roza but his dubious plans were stalled by the brave lady, Zehraben Cyclewala who filed a case against him in the court of law and managed to get a stay order thereby preventing him from grabbing the road.

Members of the Community should continue to remain calm and maintain peace and harmony during this period, particularly since proceedings are underway before the Honorable Bombay High Court.

I was only wondering if you were reading this thread because your community was expressing the outcome of the lanats on 1,2,3 on this thread and not on the other thread.

I don't have to respond on the other thread only because I decided nothing good came out of the lanats, whereas you said the opposite.

As for my bohora friends, who are well educated to use their brains, they were also upset with the outcome of the above and at the moment are trying to move on with their lives in the privacy of their homes praying as usual without taking sides. They are happier. They have formed a group and pray by themselves. One family joined the progressives in our area.

They agree that late Syedna committed a booboo for which a lot of their people paid a price.

Situation worsens in Ahmedabad....... Due to the Road grabbing case of Muffy wherein he grabbed a public road near the Roza, a full fledged agitation by the locals is going on. The situation further worsened when there was heavy stone pelting and police had to fire 10 teargas shells in which a few policemen were also injured. In this entire fiasco, Muffy is missing in action as he has run away to Colombo on his routine extortion trip, leaving his abdes behind to fend for themselves. I remember how mercilessly people from your Jamat were attacked in cities like Surat in 1992. This is the sign of a good community leader who unlike the Bohra Dai doesn't care about protecting his own interests in India but gives two hoots to people like Modi ! Shame on the Bohra Dai !

From your post it seemed to me as if Ismailis were singled out. I had never heard of this, in fact I had there were Hindu/Muslim riots and heard Imam had intervened with the government. It seems some Ismailis paid a price for "greedy Ismailis" . I had also read how Imam had contacted PM, Heptullah and Modi, etc.

I quote what my fellow Ismaili said to me upon inquiry: "In 2002 ismailis did suffer. Specially in Surat. Where hindu fundamentalist mob broke into a khoja colony. But 3 - 4 families were specially targeted who were known to give money on very high interest rates to the people of slum near by. Causalities were small in number when compared to others. Imam called PM of that time, imam also talked with Dr. Najma Akbarali Heptulla (vice president) who had very good terms with Modi. She was able to provide urgent security for ismailis. Thousands of ismailis then migrated to other cities. Most of them were moved to Hyderabad. They were given free food for almost a year and their kids were given school fees for couple of years. A colony was constructed in the outskirts of Hyderabad for them. Many of those families are now thriving.

I did not know this. I guess I was young at the time and did not care about the world!

Everyday I thank Allah SWT for giving us a Rahebar like our Imam. He really takes good care of his flock!

Iam very much aware of the attacks on your jamat in 1992, the hindutva mob had barged into your colony and also burnt furniture. However your community was the safest during 2002 Mass genocide as a strong contingent of police force was stationed near your colony and jamatkhana near Ghod Dod road. This was all thanks to your leader who made sure that police were present round the clock near your jamatkhana/colony, this was told to me by a high ranking police officer of Surat. Nowhere did I see any photo op of your leader with Modi nor any felicitation like the Bohra Dai who inspite of giving millions of rupees (looted from Bohras) and draping a shawl around him could not prevent the Hindutva brigade from targeting Bohras and even today NO Bohra can buy a residential/commercial property in Hindu dominated areas of Gujarat.
