You are right, its Spence Lane and not Road. How can reformist families get permission from Kothar to organise their Mohurrum vayez ?? BTW The main organiser is one Moiz Dholkawalla.

My personal experience with an old couple who approached the jamaat for karze hasana. after having paid jamaat dues for over half a century they were stuck with hard times and approached the shabbirabad jamaat for a small loan as karze hasana. The jamaat kept giving them one excuse after another and this dragged on for almost six months. One day they stated they could not give karz e hasana. This is personal factual experience. such are the goons of shabbirabad "A" block and "B" block

Ok during Muharam this funny incident happened, since we were informed by vazarat that we should keep our businesses closed during Muharam waazes, so there was this bohra bhai who had been waiting to get over with his customer and leave for masjid, meanwhile bohra police (vardi waley bohra bhai) was on patrol. he entered the shop and instructed the bhai to leave for waaz as soon as possible. Later on the employees of that shop who were out cast thought these were (Shurtahs) arab word for Police. And they seriously thought they were from Police!

here is how asara preparations took place in atlanta. The local amil with his wife and children were given plane tickets from jamaat funds to visit mumbai for waez since his nana is mukasir. On top of that the atlanta jamaat had to call in a mulla from L.A. to take care of the 10 days of moharram. the mulla said he cannot come alone. so the jamaat had to pay plane tickets for him and his two sons to fly him from l.a. to atlanta. On top of that the jamaat had to pay him money for his trouble to come to atlanta. all boarding and lodging expenses were paid for by the jamaat and all mumineen had to do money salams to him. This guy who came from L.A. has no education , no job and is surviving by being a teacher in the madrassah of L.A. This is how easy money is made.

The business season starts with the very beginning of Islamic New Year by way of collecting hundreds of crores in the name of Imam Hussain (a.s.) which continues even after Ashura by way of various ziyafats, hadiyats, mafsusiyats, nikahs, etc etc. all of which are done after maghrib. During daytime, the business of bethaks/qadambosis continue and this year the minimum charge per person is Rs.5,200/- , the crowd is at its peak due to thousands of bohras coming from all parts of the world and India, hence the collection could be anyones guess !!

After the marathon vayez in Mumbai, Muffy Mola flew down to Moshi-Tanzania for the much needed rest and the consequent hunting spree (which has now become a ritual).
