mutilation

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

mutilation

I am horrified to know that genitalmutilation of little girls is still carried on. And what is shameful is that the women are propogating this cruel tradition. Indeed a woman is a woman's worst enemy. I wish the Sayedhna would put a stop to this practice.

Well keep on wishing and dream on. You see the whole idea here is that if we cut out the female genitals (clitoris to be graphic) the sex drive of our daughters will be curbed. So they will not get as horny as the other females in the general population so then they will not have extra-marital sex and so they will not run away with those infidel boys. This gives our uneducated parents a lot of security. Start at home first. Do not mutiliate your daughters. Discourage those in your family who are considering it. Educate your children who will then refuse to go to the "lady" in the neighbourhood with the knife and if you have been mutiliated have you considering suing for trespass of the person. Sue your parents and the person who did the mutiliation. It is a criminal offence. Do not wish that Kothar will do it for you. When has the Kothar done something for your welfare apart from having yearly Muhurumpic Games and squeezing your hard earned money. Change can only come if you bring it about. Do not wait for someone else to do it. Regretably there are a lot of "Bikan" bohoras and all we do is suffer and complain forever.

We have got the following suggestions for Bohri women:

1. As soon as they find out about Syedna and his Quafla's impending visit to their repsective country, they could make a representation to the Immigration authority and the Press to deny the visas to the Kothari visitors, until the Syedna publicly condemns and bans this inhuman practice of FGM (forever and everywhere) being carried out in the name of the religion.

2. To have Syedna abolish the barbaric FGM (Female Genital Mutilation), the Bohri Female, every time Syedna and his Quafla visits their town or city, should pre-arrange with their respective town or city's women's organizations (and the media) to hold peaceful vigil or demonstration and follow wherever Syedna and his Quafla visit the city or town's various locations.
