shirk would be described as when you put somebody higher then he is supposed to be or vice versa put him lower then he is supposed to be.
in todays world shirk is best described by the wahhabis demotion of the position of the greatest prophet rasullah sa who ever lived by calling him an ordinary person who was simply sent to deliver a message

they will quote from all sorts of unknown people to promote their fiery brand of intolerant islam and the world blames the prophet sa (danish cartoons) for this .this is all the fault of the wahhabis who are the biggest devients from islam for this shirk on the prophet sa

by calling our prophet an ordinary man(astagferullah) they are also doubting the quran majid and islam itself since according to them it was brought by an ordinary man. if thie is not shirk what is it
