Judging by the pictures in Malumaat. Mumineen.org and other such sites, all that ever happens in bohri mosques these days is kadambosis, salaam, wadhawa and adulation of the Sultan and his children. How elaborate are the decorations put up by the abdes. This is all very cute - decorations in the form of candies, cakes being cut, etc. The security guard in his red regalia is especially endearing, sooooo sweeeet! So much more fun than the austere functions in other muslim mosques!

But is there any praying going on during these meetings?

The photos would never be in the main masjid. The photos, if at all there, would either be in markaz or sehan of masjid which is not waqf area. So nothing wrong in that.

And what you call music is actually marsiyah or matami noha.. You should be ashamed of calling that music.

And I agree with Smart.. Nowadays, in many places musallah space in masjid/markaz during ramzan is sold for fixed amount which is completely unfair.

The photos, if at all there, would either be in markaz or sehan of masjid which is not waqf area. So nothing wrong in that.

Cant understand why you need a photo even in sehan which is used by people to pray when the waqf masjid gets filled.

Islam prohibits all sort of image creation practices any where in a muslim's life , so not stopping a photo in a sehan is like promoting it which is definitely a responsibility of a dai coming from fatimid dawat chain .

Not to forget the extensive photographic skills shown by abdes in waqf masjid on all occasions including yaume aashura!

The masjids have also become multiplexes with life size screens used for screening the dai's bayan, in future we may also have a sophisticated home theatre system with surround sound to give a dolby/stereo effect to matams and there may also be a 3D screen to experience a true to life image of the dai. In that case volunteers will be stationed at the gates to give the 3D spectacles for Rs.52/- hoob. The libas-e-anwar will then be a kurta,saya,topi and the 3D spectacles which will cover the rest of the face as the balance is already covered by a dadhi.

Are you kidding!! Just visit the masjid during Salgirah drama and you will find sayednas life size photos just behind Amil bethak and it is so cleverly set that behind Amil seat the Kibla is covered with these photos and slogans. Even during namaj it is not removed and bohras are praying in front of the photos. It is all over the world.

I think you have missed the function of iftettah of saifee Hospital relayed all over the world and most of the bohras have seen this in Masjid a song along with music were played. Also Kothar has started a drama serials to teach bohras, in that also there were musics.

I even have seen the complete family tree portraits of Burhanuddin family in masjid. Some idiot’s abdes even kiss the life-size photos of Burhanuddin when they enter to masjid. It’s so pathetic and mind boggling!

would not be surprized when the fanatics start putting garlands around the dai's photo and and light some agar batti on his photo.

Why dont you start a PR firm with a motto.. "Contact us for Incredible results", I hope with all your closeness to zaadas, kothar will immediately hire you for all the PR work for the dai, we may get to see some more kothar sponsored sites like Incrediblemal (umat).com or Incrediblemumin.org. Or else politics would be another choice because it is the place where goondas with serious criminal records get elected and the system is full of corruption, very similar to your beloved kothar administration whose defence is your ibadat.

But this seems to be a one time arrangement and the occasion is the maqdam majlis of shehzada saheb. So there shouldn't be any problem.

Yes, ideally there shouldn't be any pictures during namaz and there aren't.

And if at all it is there in any masjid, it's the fault of the masjid's caretakers and not dai's!
