brain_dead, don't get disheartened. It would be a mistake to think that the reform movement lives on this forum. It does not, and it is not anonymous. True, leaders matter but no leader is indispensable. When the time and situation demands, new leaders will come forth. It is the spirit of reform that lives on, on the ground, in the heart of the people. Reformist jamats all over the world are teeming with people who are bold and open about their beliefs, and they are definitely not anonymous. As long as humans feel the need for dignity and freedom of conscience, the urge for reform will continue. In fact, this is the only engine that drives human progress and evolution. Leaders come and leaders go.

Dear Orthodox brothers,

Avoid making such hatred comments. I don't find any reason to celebrate. He has no personal grudges with the Da'i. .He was againts the administration and the functionality. He had his own view and he followed it. He was not a enemy of Islam or Muslims or Bohras, that we should celebrate and party on his demise. Subconsciously, many peoples wants what Engineer was asking , many peoples believes that system should work on the grounds which He was requesting. .
The only difference is that He raised his internal belief on different level. He preferred to be leader of his own belief than to being follower of what was imposed.
Or in other words, He had choosen the path he wanted & So as we have choosen our's. . Ours is along with the Dawat and His was NOT. .Thats it.

Dr. Asghar Ali Saheb just left from Mumbai airport for ten lectures on "Islam, Jihad and Peace". He will be back to Mumbai on 8th of July.
Articles on Saifee Hospital, in Tehelka magazine and the news that Dr. Asghar Ali Saheb's autobiography "A Living Faith" is going to be released at the hands of Vice-President of India, and that too after spending a fortune in the name of Syedna Saheb's 100th birthday, are unexpected blows on Kothar and difficult to digest.

This is an excellent case of dirty politics being engineered at saifee mahal in order to divert the abdes attention from the burning issue of nass in which the mazun was conspiciously absent and also the dai's health to which the abdes dont have proper access to.
