It seems that the countdown for the much awaited Muharrum Tamasha has begun. Hectic activites are going on within the precincts of saifee mahal and abdes are eagerly waiting for the edge of the seat, Hitchcock like suspense to unravel at the earliest. As usual, lot of speculation is going on in abde circles and most of them are betting on Mumbai to be the most preferred choice due to the fragile health of the dai. But the developments in this regard suggest something else.

It is reported that the big caterers of mumbai, Ghoga, Dilawar and others have requested their clients (who have bookings from next week onwards till end of zilhaj) to look out for other caterers and excuse them as they have been summoned to saifee mahal with their passports and may have to leave with the dai's entourage any time to an undisclosed destination.

The likely venue is somewhere in africa and this also explains the reasons for the mansoos's recent visit. The exact country has not yet been identified as the auction ala Christies/Sothebys is not yet over, the bidding process is in progress and the highest bidder is yet to be publicly announced. It is a great surprise that the leading betting syndicate of Dawood Ibrahim, who also shares an excellent rapport with kothar (the bhendi bazar project has further cemented their ties) has not yet explored the vast potential of the "place of Muhurrum venue" betting. He is set to rake in a lot of moolah with kothar on his side and needless to say that the zaadas will be the one who will be making windfall profits as they are the only ones who are actually aware of the place of muhurrum venue as the same is in fact decided by a few of them. The Sign of Hypocrisy



Hypocrite is one who pretends to be a believer but deep inside does not s/he believe at all. Hence, recognizing the hypocrites is not easy for they hide behind their pretentious face while they are the most dangerous enemies. They were even spread around the Prophet as the Holy Quran says:
وَ ممن حولكم من الاعراب منافقون و من اهل المدينة مردوا علي النفاق ...

“And from among those who are round about you of the dwellers of the desert there are hypocrites, and from among the people of Medina (also); they are stubborn in hypocrisy; …” (Al-Tawba 9:101)



These posed a serious danger to Islam as people could not know them by their looks. But the Prophet gave a very clear sign of them:

لايحِبُّ عَلِياً مُنافِقٌ وَ لايبْغِضُهُ مُؤمِنٌ

“No hypocrite loves Ali and no believer hates him.” (Muhammad-ibn-Isa Tirmidhi, Sonan-Tirmidhi (Sunni scholar of the 3rd century), vol. 5, p. 635)



وَ اللّهِ اِنَّهُ مِمّا عَهِدَ اِلَي رَسُولُ اللّهِ اَنَّهُ لايبْغِضُني اِلا مُنافِقٌ وُ لايحِبُّني اِلا مُؤمِنٌ.

“And by Allah, indeed among the words that the Prophet gave me is that but a hypocrite does not hate me and but a believer does not love me.” (Ahmad-ibn-Hanbal, vol. 1, p. 138 and Sonan-Ibn-Majeh, vol. 1, p. 42 and Sonan -NasAi, vol. 8, 117)



And Abuzar said: “We used to know the hypocrites by three signs: Either they denied Allah and his Prophet, or they did not participate in the congregation, or they hated Ali.” (Mostadrak- Ala-Sahihain, vol. 3, p. 139)



The Prophet and some of his companions were walking and while walking his shoe was torn and he had to walk barefoot. Imam Ali took his shoe and started repairing it. The prophet said:

“And there is one among you who will fight for the interpretation (of Quran) as I fought for its revelation.”



Then some of the companions asked whether they are the person mentioned by the prophet, his answer was negative. Then, he said:

“I mean the one who is repairing my shoe.” (Mostadrak-Ala-Sahihain, vol. 3, p. 139, Sonan- Tirmidhi, vol. 5, p. 634 and Kanz-ul-Ommal, vol. 6, p. 155)

5. Learn about the activities we could engage in to prepare for the zahoor of the son of Imam Hussein (AS) and realize that we have to work actively to prepare the grounds for his arrival.

What is NOT the purpose of Majlis?

1. Perform it is a tradition or ritual without understanding its purpose
2. Listen to "crowd-pleasers" who like the scholars of Bani-Israel tell us that all of us will go to heaven irrespective of our choices and characters. We will all to heaven if our tongues say the names of ahl-e-bait (AS) even though our characters may resemble those of their enemies or those who stayed indifferent.
3. Listen to "Scholars-for -dollars" who may share facts and analysis with us but we cannot trust what they say (irrespective of their eleqouence and intelligence) as they do not have taqwa and are themselves submerged in hub-e-dunya
4. Perform tabara in a manner different from the way our Imams (AS) performed it. Ziarat-e-Ashura is a great way to learn how to verbalize tabbara. We should not exceed from the way that the Imams did it, Ayatullah Khamenai and Ayatullah Sistani along with other Marajae have stressed upon the way to perform it so as not to play in the hands of agents of imperialism and Yazid-e-Waqt (LA)
5. Listen to the story of Karbala but not change at all in our actions and choices e.g. cry about Bibi Zainab (AS)'s chadar but be Bay-Hijab, praise the courage of Hadhrat Abbas (AS) but have not courage to stand up for the right of the oppressed, cry on Hadhrat Ali Akbar and Hadhrat Ali Asghar (AS) but rather then using them as role models, suffer from severe inferiority complex and consider everything western to be better, talk about Imam Zain ul Abideen (AS) but be immersed in materialism and take our definition of sucess from the media and the society.

May Allah (SWT) allow all of us to change this Mah-e-Moharram and understand our responsibilities towards the son of Imam Hussein (AS) who is waiting for us to get ready so he (ATFS) can reappear and avenge the blood of his grandfather.

mn, your appeal is misplaced. please direct it to saifee mahal whose occupiers have perverted the solemn observance of muharram into 'ashara mubaraka', i.e. a celebration wherein they make abdes go around congratulating each other on the advent of this month of mourning during which the syedna whips up passions in the first 10 days and exploits them to extract tons of money from his followers, his amils disseminate lies, propaganda to elevate syedna to a god and spread stories of false miracles and throw dust into the eyes of a gullible community.

and after the 10 days, what does the dai of allah and hussain and the shohoda do? he goes with his family to murder innocent wild animals and spill their blood for pleasure and sport. while he is exterminating big game, his abdes go on shopping sprees and conducted tours in foreign lands, rubbing their hands in glee.

what would you call this? a tamasha or genuine sorrow and an opportunity to cleanse our souls and learn from the tragic events of kerbala as fervently expressed in the post made by brother oma? in fact this is worse than a tamasha, its a blasphemy, a slander on the events and personalities who gave their lives for islam.

The scenes at saifee masjid during the 1st vayez were extremely sad and pathetic to say the least. The dai was seated on a platform which had 2 takhts and the 2nd takht was conspicously vacant because as per plans the dai was supposed to invite the manhoos which he totally forgot. However he started his bayan around 11am which lasted for less then an hour. The bayan was completely non audible and one could hear nothing but mere mumblings by the dai. This is quite understandable keeping his old age and fragile health in mind. After delivering the 45 minutes bayan the dai was supposedly taken to raudat tahera for ziarat after which he was supposed to come back to the masjid for delivering the rest of the bayan after zohar namaz but surprisingly he didnt turn up. The obvious reason could be nothing but his ill health.

Now the moot point is not the quality and length of the bayan but the pain and discomfort undergone by the dai due to his advanced age and ill health, a fact which was observed by every abde who attended the vayez. The question is that why couldnt the dai's own sons and relatives see his condition and advise him complete rest which was more important not only for him but also for any son who loves his father and who wouldnt tolerate any hardships inflicted on him. This is because the dai is used as a marketing tool and paraded everywhere not only to keep the vice like grip on the followers intact but more so to extract millions of rupees from the abdes. During his presence which lasted for 45 minutes, some abdes were seen furling the "pinchha" which looked more like "hanuman ka gadha", a scene similar to the one in the film Mughal-e-azam when Emperor Akbar is seated on his takht. The "sharaf" of doing this comes with a price tag which runs into a few lakhs. I know of this as a relative of mine had got this 'sharaf' some 20 years back and for which he had paid Rs.7.52 lakhs for furling the gadha for less then a minute as there was an unending queue of sheeps ANXIOUSLY waiting to get slaughtered. Its past 20 years and with inflation at its peak its anyones guess as to the number of crores the zaadas must have managed to generate in a span of just 45 minutes.

Inspite of my differences with the dai on other issues, on purely humanitarian grounds I seriously feel a sense of grief for an old person with fragile health being put to such torturous ordeal by his greedy and selfish sons who have no concern or regard for their father's fragile health as they are deeply sunk in the filth of monetary garbage. Lets see what the likes of aqs, profastian, guysam, stranger and others are willing to do to put an end to the hardships inflicted on their master whom they claim to sincerely follow.

The season when kothar's business is at its PEAK is now here (Ramzan is another one). The recent fatwa from kandivli jamat states that every family has to buy a MINIMUM of One Unit (Rs.5,200/-) to get azeem barkat in the month of Mohurrum, an amount which is supposedly towards the expense of the 10 day jamans. Ironically all the jamans are virtually sponsored by some local bohras which means that the entire amount collected in the name of Hussain (a.s.) goes into the pocket of...................... Malek-ul-Nashtar who is in-charge of suburban jamats. There are around 350 bohra families in kandivli and many of them are compelled to buy 5,10,52 or 101 units depending on their financial status. Now multiply Rs.5,200/- with the number of units sold and you will derive at a figure which is much more higher then the 10 day profit of any A grade listed corporate house.

you dont seem to understand anything at all. dont you know that imam hussain and his shohodas got themselves killed and had their heads most cruelly removed so that the last 2 bohra dais could orchestrate elaborate "ashara mubaraka" celebrations where abde syednas in vast numbers could congregate from all corners of the globe, spend a couple of hours a day listening to vaaz filled with miracles of their dai, his shaan and his beshumaar ehsan ane karam, and as a token formality at the end of each noorani vaaz, shed a few tears in passing and then feast on lavish foods prepared by famous chefs.

hussain and his fellow martyrs knew that one day their sacrifice will be extremely useful for the 51st and 52nd dai's who will need to exhort their abdes to cough up funds for the upkeep of their sultan and his royal family, who need to live in a style befitting their status as badshahs and maharajas. if it was not for hussain, slaughtered in the hot desert sands of kerbala, the syedna and his family would not be able to afford buying palaces and huge properties in practically every continent and resort country around the world. hussain denied himself even the most simplest of pleasures and even food and water, so that bohras could engorge themselves on 2 kharas, 2 mithaas.
