is it true that if one fasts on this day then it is equal to performing 100 haj and 100 umras.
if this is a happy occasion i.e. eid then why do the bohris have to fast? do other shia's fast on this day?

Eid ghader ul khum is a innovation by Ali worshipping Shias. There is no support for it in Qur'an or Ahadith.Qur'an and Ahadith support only 2 celebratory days. 2 Eids.
There is only one Hujj. Only Allah knows whose Hujj he accepts or rejects.

not my words; local amil in southern u.s. says about sawab of 110 haj and 100 umras if one fasts on that day and the bohris also give misaak to dai that they are his slaves. misaak is given to a 12 or 14 year old who does not even understand what he/she is swearing to; when the child grows he /she realizes . It is the parents that force upon the child and it is just a cultural tradition but the after effects on the child are devastating. It is time this ritual be stopped.

Sounds really close to another lame theory about 72 virgins.
