Missing those ramadan days :(

Bismillah...

I remember few years back when SMB was dai and Ramadan was really days of blessings, we use to take dabba in masjid, do shukr of ALLAH by praying namaz and then we use to enjoy GOD given halaal food by sitting with friends and relatives and then we use to pray sunna and fard and go home happily.

those were the days we remember till today, those were the days of LOVE and WARMNESS for friendliness and relations.

in last few years every thing has got lost.

are you missing the goodies that you bought from home for iftar, yes it was becoming a party gathering instead of namaz congregation, people used to spend hour in that activity and skipping the magrib sunnat, iam very happy that this one dish party has ended although eating biscuits is not an ideal choice but it is the right thing to do.

you know what?

those who knows importance of prayers will always pray, and those who dont want to pray wont pray no matter what.

we use to enjoy dabba (for few minutes) and also use to pray sunnat and isha, and I am so surprise to see local amil is skipping sunnat in zohar namaz (in regular days) but again he remembers to pray in ramadan. amazing isnt it?

yes I really miss those dabbas which had love and amazing cooking from my sisters and bhabhis/relatives of my friends.

we use to await whole day for maghrib to arrive and the joy of iftaar was unforgettable.

i still feel that it is not the right thing to do in masjid there is no limit for bringing food and i remember people sitting in circles and praising each others food then after overloaded tummies they used to go and sit in a corner skipping the sunnat and nafilat namaz, what is wrong is wrong and it should be abolished. now we are able to do simple iftar offer complete prayers and then eat heartly in the thaal.

It used to become even more worse when its vashek.

1. no iftaar
2. there is a bayan in the middle
3. vashek
4. the already long hours thanks to the summer

Anyways, now people do carry little bit of iftaar..the idea is to eat at your masallahs instead of forming a thaal and cease praying sunnat/ naafilat...
You are right sufi...people who don't want to pray continue talking...Namaaz is treated as a social event by such jokers.

Let me give you another reason:

Initially we use to bring goodies in all form of deep fried items. Dont know about you all but I have noticed that it use to cause a lot of disturbance by people coughing in the namaaz and this thing has drastically reduced by this biscuit thing.

This might differ with other people's view on this subject

yes this can be a good explanation, but the Imam who is suppose to pray in Qibla and his voice matters most eats samosa and bhajiya, how do you explain it?

I miss rolled up roti kabab or bhaji roti. Chai to strengthen our mind. Perfect fuel for our body and soul.

I don’t fully support nor object diktat of kothar on iftaar snacking. There has to be moderation. However serving tea and biscuits after a long day of fast is difficult to consume. My stomach aches with biscuits and tea on a empty stomach. Although there is water and dates too. But tea and biscuits makes it very heavy.
Best suggestion is to serve dates and water for iftaar, complete prayers and serve the meals. The bayaan-baazi takes a toll on hunger and time. In Kuwait people are under stress to complete the prayer and jaman and rush for their evening shifts.
However people do what they want to do, I see a lot of people bring snacks for iftaar, but in moderation and share with others around, that is a sweet thing to do. A way to connect in its small way.

tea after fasting is really bad for health specially for those who are suffering from acidity, snacks and little food in iftaar and then tea is okay.

Roza were the most helpful prayer in mu youth. It made me reevaluate my thoughts and deeds. It disciplined my body. A time to share your personnel bounties. After the first twenty, fasting, made motor run on half the cylinders. Fire crackers on jaagwa ni raat. Smell of bukhoor.

And I choke eating dry biscuits on my dry mouth and throat, sometimes the tea is not warm, and I never a chance with water as people attack water like it's a rare commodity. I should bring my own water this time. And mostly there bayans are about wajebat and money, money, money.

If you have problems with biscuits then no body stops you to bring roti from your house. The only objection was on deep fired items and bringing food in plenty which could make you miss your namaaz.

With latest instruction from the new amil to impose sabeel uniformly, which works out to be a pretty hansome amount in Kuwait.

7 kd per family and 3 kd per bachelor monthly basis. A rough underestimate ball park number of bohra population will be as follows :
7 kd x 5000 families = kd 35000
3 kd x 5000 bachelors = kd 15000
Total monthly direct income is kd 50000 which is by and large enough to run the administration and have surplus funds. Inspite of such huge income generated from sabeel only, these guys are asking for masala registration and hoob for niyaaz, apart from that ramazan will be hot season to collect some qardana hasana, silatul imam, silatul fitra, najwa and fat wajebaat !.. phew

I m encouraging my friends and relatives to resist paying for Ramadan administrative charges as jamats are well covered to take care of it.

I have not heard any such camp coming up in kuwait and even if they do, why would they have a separate markaz ? this ramzan will be interesting.
You are from Kuwait, are you planning to pay up ?
