Forum Postings: Discussion Rules
No information or other material posted on the List by a subscriber or an outside individual or group shall be treated as reflecting the opinion of or as endorsed by the Owner or ADMIN (hereafter referred to collectively as "ADMIN").
The views and statements contained in all items so posted shall be deemed to be those of the authors or instigators thereof, as it is impossible for the ADMIN to monitor or edit every message that is received and transmitted, whether or not the same has passed through any form of moderating process. In other words, the Forum is only a channel of communication and the responsibility for anything that is conveyed through it shall be and remains that of the individual who makes use thereof.
No criminal or Defamatory Matter
In particular, subscribers shall take care not to post any criminal or defamatory matter. Equally, members should refrain from making unlawful use of any material covered by copyright protection under the laws of any country. In the event of any claim or proceedings, whether civil or criminal and in whatever country or jurisdiction, the liability for any such matter or material shall rest with the author or instigator thereof. Such author or instigator shall therefore be under a legal obligation to indemnify the ADMIN or other affected third parties in respect of any loss or damage sustained by them on account of the same.
Use of Copyrighted Material
When quoting from, reproducing or otherwise making use of any copyrighted works for purposes of comment, review, criticism, study or broadcast please ensure that the source thereof is always acknowledged and permission sought if required.
Regard for aims and objectives of the Forum
Subscribers should at all time have regard to the aims and objectives of the Forum as stated in the rules herein, and that the existence and smooth running of the Forum depend on:
- Goodwill on the part of the ADMIN and
- Mutual respect towards each other
- That this is an entirely non-commercial operation and
- That the global nature of the internet (with its speed of communications and potential impact across national boundaries) places a heavy responsibility on members of the Forum to behave sensibly.
Two other factors must also always be borne in mind, namely
No liability to Owners
As a subscriber you expressly agree that use of this Forum is at your, i.e. subscriber's, sole risk. Neither the ADMIN nor any of their employees or agents warrant that the service provided by the Forum will be uninterrupted or error free and no liability shall attach to them in respect of any act of default or omission or of any direct indirect incidental or consequential loss or damage of any kind arising from the operation of the Forum.
Reproduction and Redistribution
The subscriber shall not reproduce redistribute retransmit publish forward or otherwise transfer or commercially exploit any information software or other content which the subscriber may receive through the Forum without the consent or permission of the ADMIN and originators of the material in question.
Membership governed Terms and Conditions
The ADMIN may modify these Terms and Conditions and may discontinue or revise any or all aspects of the service provided by the Forum at their sole discretion and without prior notice. Your participation in the Forum should be mature and responsible. You agree that your membership is governed by these Terms and Conditions. In the event of any breach or non-observance thereof, the offending party may be pursued for legal redress under the laws of the relevant country.
3. Network Etiquette
Please keep the following suggestions in mind when posting messages on the Fourm. They will help keep the Forum user- friendly for everyone.
PLEASE reduce CLUTTER on your posting, when replying to another message, delete or SNIP out irrelevant text from previous messages. Paraphrasing, quoting, and sending neat and clean messages selectively, are both kinder to peoples eyes, message boxes and to our archives. Messages are archived for future retrieval; bandwidth and computer space is an issue for some systems.
Flames: a flame is an emotionally charged posting, and is often directed at someone. Please note that the Forum does not tolerate flames. Do not use foul or abusive language nor engage in personal attacks. Failure to abide by this and other rules are grounds for immediate removal from the Forum. Please be considerate of others. Through inexperience Forum members may inadvertently violate the above suggestions.
Complaints, Suggestion, Disputes
Complaints, suggestions, and/or issues relating to disputes or disturbances on the list discussions should be deferred and sent privately to the ADMIN. It is important that such postings do not create disruption to the open Forum. It is time consuming and takes a lot of ADMIN energy that could otherwise be used to improve the Forum.
Copy Paste from other sites
Posting large 'copy and paste' messages from other web sites and newspapers are not encouraged. Instead, posters are advised to only post a short excerpt, and offer the URL address where the information is located. More importantly the subscriber should offer their own perspective and reason why the readership is being directed to the link.
Comments and Suggestions
Please direct any comments and suggestions you may have to the Admin.
