For anyone to understand in-depth the origins of Dawoodi Bohras, I highly recommend Dr. Asghar Ali Engineer's 'The Bohras'.

a) Read Quran with translation (with tafseer too, if you have stomach for it)

I am sure, there are hundreds (if not thousands) of like minded people that I know of who are fed up with the rituals and 'faith' forced down our throats all the time. If we can show them an alternate path where they can try and follow/practice the Islamic teachings based on their own understanding ...
