When is our Dai going to do the same

Wipro chief and IT tycoon Azim Premji tops the list of Indian philanthropists with donations amounting to Rs.8,000 crore in the past year. Premji, 68, who owns 57 percent of Wipro, has donated 10 percent stake in the company to Azim Premji Foundation that promotes education in rural India, China-based Hurun Report Inc. said in its HurunIndia Philanthropy List 2013. "To him (Premji) goes the credit of becoming the first Indian to sign up for the Giving Pledge, a global philanthropic initiative spearheaded by Warren Buffet and Bill Gates," it said.[/quote]

Azim Hashim Premji (born 24 July 1945) is an Indian business tycoon and philanthropist who is the chairman of Wipro Limited, guiding the company through four decades of diversification and growth to emerge as one of the Indian leaders in the software industry. According to Forbes, he is currently the fourth wealthiest Indian, and the 91st richest in the world, with a personal wealth of $17.2 billion in 2013. In 2000, he was voted among the 20 most powerful men in the world by Asiaweek. He has twice been listed among the 100 most influential people by TIME Magazine, once in 2004 and more recently in 2011. Premji owns 79 percent of Wipro and also owns a private equity fund, PremjiInvest, which manages his $1 billion personal portfolio . Azim Hashim Premji was born into a Khoja Nizari Ismaili Shia family. He was born in Karachi to M.H. Hasham Premji.

I'm hoping bohris someday can achieve in thier life time what azim premji has achieved in his life time. And they can only achieve it if thier leader guides the community towards right direction . Bohra clergy has the resources and opportunity to educate and provide all tools community to lead but unfortunately it is busy in filling thier own coffers and enjoying all the money they loot out of the community . All in the name of religion which bohris dont even practice as per Quran .

To come out in open n share our p.o.v require guts which is lacking in our spiritual leaders ryt frm 51st till 53rd(both).

Our leaders had never ever came out in open and condemn abt so many wrong things going against us in islam particular and god knows on what basis they get the title of DOCTOR n AMBASADOR OF PIECE.

In short what i feel is we r following leader who is coward and selfish and same has also become our nature if not all than majority of us.

Fantastic analogy. MS and forefathers have polluted and defiled our deen and dunyia. We do not pray as Prophet wanted us to pray adding so many namaz in-between and we cannot live a normal life with other Muslims communities because we have conditioned to hate them and our long beards and strange attires creates too much differentiation.
He has tortured us beyond healing. Our minds have gone corrupt to the core. Even in our sleep we sing bhajans of MS instead of Allah and Panjatan. We pray to MS instead of Allah as we have been thought to understand that he is the personification of Allah.

Bro Suleman
It is not question of our Dai alone? What SKQ is doing? What Dai of Alawi sect is doing? What Dai of Sulaimani is doind? What Aga Khan is doing? What Ayatollah's are doing?
No one is doing anything to save common man. Everyone is busy in umpire making. Only Allah can save us through Vasila of Nabi (PBUH) & Panjatan Pak (AS) .

Pope Francis prays at Istanbul’s Blue Mosque

The Pope took off his shoes as he entered the huge mosque, before bowing his head in prayer, facing Makkah and standing next to Istanbul’s Grand Mufti Rahmi Yaran.

Pope Francis prayed silently alongside a senior Islamic cleric in Istanbul’s Blue Mosque on Saturday, in a gesture of inter-religious harmony in a country bordering the conflicts in Syria and Iraq.

Several hundred people, many of them tourists, watched from behind police barriers as the Pope then walked to the nearby Aya Sofya museum, once the Christian church Hagia Sophia.

A group of school children waving Turkish and Vatican flags chanted “Long live Pope Francis” in Italian as the Muslim call to prayer rang out across the Sultan Ahmet square, the heart of Istanbul’s historic quarter.

“We must show respect for each others beliefs. God willing the pope’s visit will help in this respect,” said Halil Ibrahim Cil, 24, a hospital worker from Istanbul.

“We want to practice our religion in peace. We want people to understand Islam. We don’t want war.”

Islamic State insurgents have captured swathes of neighbouring Syria and Iraq, persecuting and killing Shia Muslims, Christians and others who do not share their ultra-radical brand of Sunni Islam.

Pope Francis said on Friday that fighting hunger and poverty, rather than military intervention alone, was key to stopping the Islamist militants.

The Blue Mosque, known officially as the Sultanahmet mosque, opened in 1616 and is the most famous in Turkey. Its popular name is a reference to the fine blue Iznik tiles in its main prayer room.

I personally don't see any problem of the grand mufti going to a church and paying respects as one cannot expect him to chant the catholic sermons, even Pope must have paid respects but would not have prayed the ritualistic namaz as prayed by Muslims. However, would the grand mufti ever do such a thing ?? Its highly doubtful !!

guys how did I miss out on this topic. I remember a year or so ago I also posted something like this. Pope francis is the real representative of jesus. if jesus was alive he would rather have pope francis as his apostle rather than rather than having judas and Mathew. this guy will change the narrative of religion if he lives. look I have little or no hope that any Islamic clergy could be as kind, god fearing, true in belief. our clergy is at the bottom of even Islamic world. palaces, 8 horse cart with airconditioned cabin. brandishing Rolexes, expensive cars like spoiled aristrocrats, it goes on.
do not compare francis to any other cleric, he stands tall and alone. you will need to have his piety, his devotion his heart to be like him. but our clergy is based on what court cases, saifi mahal, badri mahal, this mahal and that mahal. mahal, prince, aqa, master, are name of the game. our clergy looks down upon their poor and needy follower, they are made to sit in 45 degree in open sun on their knees, to line up for their master who would be so kind to travel in 8 horse cart with airconditioned cabin.
fransis travels in his old car, gave up papal residence, lives in a studio apartment, drives his own car. ours gets driven by a chaufer in the most expensive car, lives in palace, francis serves his followers by going to hospital and nursing them for days, even cleaning their beds and then prays for them. francis tells them to go to doctor for the cure, and assures them he will pray for them. ours asks the sick to do salam so that his misaq may be taken, but if you have not paid your dues, they will not give this blessing either.
francis says, who is he to judge, god will judge. well we get judgment every day, condemning everyone to hell. francis forgives his own tormentors, who tried to kill him.
just listen to what bulle shah a sufi Punjabi poet said

The Mullah and Qazi show me the way,
Their maze of Dharma that is in sway.
They are the confirmed thieves of time,
they spread their net saintly crime

THE GREAT REFORMER

Francis and the Making of a Radical Pope

German Cardinal Walter Kasper, the man dubbed the pope’s theologian, had a message that some of his more prominent critics might have needed to hear. “The pope is not a liberal,” Kasper declared in a November address at the Catholic University of America in Washington. “He is a radical.” The cardinal spoke in the wake of October’s Synod of bishops on marriage and the family, which revealed serious disagreement among top church leaders on issues such as homosexuality and divorce.

Pope Francis does not shy away from confronting even the most entrenched religious ideologies, nor does he bow to political expectations. He seems fearless in the face of church opposition or partisan pressure indeed, one souvenir T-shirt in many gift shops in Rome shows him in a superhero cape, soaring to the rescue. Francis is a radical also in the spiritual sense: He is not afraid to question religious culture when it gets in the way of living the Gospel. For all his resonance in popular culture, he recognizes that there is something profoundly countercultural and holy in living the selflessness of Christian life.

In this new era for the church, the pope is able to make ancient church teaching sound like headline news and is himself a constant trending topic on social media. It wasn’t long ago that the church was dismissed as passé and unable to change, but now, 2,000 years after the death of Christ, the Catholic Church seems resurgent. Who is this larger-than-life man leading the charge? What are Francis’s origins, how did he come to his beliefs and where is he taking his church? “The Great Reformer,” a new biography of the man born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, offers an illuminating guide.

This pope, who delivers stellar morning sermons and seems to question long-established doctrine in off-the-cuff remarks, seems less surprising — but no less remarkable when viewed through Ivereigh’s lens.

The author immerses us in daily life on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, where Francis grew up and lived for many years. He emphasizes the influence of Bergoglio’s grandmother Rosa, on whose knee the boy learned the faith. Less puritanical than his parents, who would not allow divorced people into their home, Rosa introduced the future pope to a version of Catholicism that affirms holiness where one finds it, even outside traditional religious boundaries.

As a young Jesuit teacher in 1960, Bergoglio sent a letter to his 11-year-old sister, Maria Elena, detailing the cold and hunger his impoverished elementary school students faced and asking her to pray the rosary for them. “Don’t forget that on that plan a child’s happiness depends,” he wrote. Connecting social justice to spirituality, he was sensitive to the cries of the poor early in life. His recognition of the “virtuousness of ordinary people” drew him closer to Christ.

At 21, Bergoglio nearly died from a lung disease, and he credits a wise and attentive nurse with saving his life, an experience that Ivereigh suggests parallels the current condition of the Catholic Church. The “daringly astute” nurse caring for Bergoglio tripled the dosage of his medication. “She knew what to do because she was with ill people all day. . . . [She] lived on the frontier.” But, Ivereigh writes, the doctor overseeing Bergoglio’s care “lived in a laboratory.” It’s that juxtaposition of the laboratory of pure ideas against the real needs of the faithful that Ivereigh sees as shaping Francis’s view of the church today.

Invereigh portrays many of Bergoglio’s efforts as aimed at “reconnecting the center with the periphery.” To the future pope, the slum is the center of the city, the poor and uneducated are spiritual teachers to the great and powerful, and prostitutes are women worthy of a Catholic cardinal’s public protection. (Francis once said of the women forced into sex trafficking, “I see in them the wounds of Christ.”) The notion of an outsider moving into the center is all the more poignant in the elevation of this first non-European pope in nearly 1,300 years. This is a church on the move.

When Bergoglio was rector of a Jesuit college, he started a farm that at its height fed 400 hungry children a day from a nearby neighborhood. Ivereigh’s description of Bergoglio putting on his boots to tend to the farm’s pigs suggests the real-world grittiness that Francis is bringing to the Vatican. “Our vocation asks that we be pastors of large flocks, not strokers of a few preferred sheep,” he told his students. This “humble pope” was formed by the people of the community.

After experiencing years of political upheaval and violence in Argentina, Francis grew to distrust ideologies that, as an associate put it, “seek a kind of total explanation of reality, whereas Christian hope is beyond all ideologies because it makes room for God to act.”

In pushing the church forward, Francis today insists that “God is not afraid of new things” and that the complexities of human life are not necessarily black and white. “Jorge Bergoglio’s radicalism comes from his willingness to go to the essentials, to pare back to the Gospel,” Ivereigh writes. Francis found his way to the essentials while putting in place the post-Vatican II spiritual renewal in his Jesuit order by focusing on “poverty, holiness, missionary focus, obedience to the pope and unity.” During his time as provincial superior of the Society of Jesus in Argentina, he attempted to reorient a politically charged church culture toward the spirituality of everyday holiness.

To those who worry that Francis is damaging the church, Ivereigh replies that, on the contrary, he is restoring it. Francis may be the one man who can effect major change in the church — what it emphasizes, how it’s received by Catholics, and even its media coverage — while leaving its core teachings alone. Francis supposes, as do Christians worldwide, that by faithfully living the radical messages of Jesus, you really can change the world. Ivereigh chronicles an unlikely reformation unfolding before our eyes that may be the blueprint for the life of that world to come.

Amen.

the subject title of this thread is completely devious. the question that we should be asking is what can the other religious leaders do to be like our dai.

can they do the following to be same as our dai?

1. can they snatch their succession by deception, forging documents, creating staged scenes and hoodwinking on a mass scale?
2. can they incite vast crowds into uttering abuse, laanatbazi and open threats?
3. can they ride in airconditioned cinderella horse-drawn buggies?
4. can they woo comely air-hostesses while flying first class and then give these nubile lasses the sharaf of talaqqi?
5. can they conduct a massive money sweeping operation over all 5 continents within 1 month?
6. can they visit all 5 continents in utmost luxury and mop upto 100 million dollars from their blind followers in less than 6 months?
7. can they buy huge resorts, lavish residences and veritable palaces within 1 year of snatching the throne?
8. can they organise murderous hunting and killing sprees in the african jungles for wild game, once every 3 months?
9. can they make their slaves undertake food production and distribution for which their leader then takes credit?
10. can they threaten, assault, abuse and intimidate their rivals and detractors with impunity?
11. can they create photo ops with celebrities, politicians and known goondas?
12. can they claim that totally unknown strangers from other religions saw this leader's succession in dreams?
13. can they perform miracles?
14. can they bury their dead father in a grand procession whilst riding on a decorated truck with the national flag-draped coffin?
15. can they refer to their dead father as 'IMMORTAL AND LIVING' ?
16. can they desist and refuse from visiting or receiving poor and deprived followers?
17. can they ascribe qualities to themselves of haqiqi kaaba, natiq e quran, mojiza na saheb, god on earth, direct representative of allah etc?

these above questions will conclusively prove that our dai is supreme. no one can come close to him, except perhaps to a certain extent, allah himself. where our dai is mount everest, the others are simply disgusting little speed bumps. where is the comparison???

For the first time in history, leaders of the world’s largest faiths have come together.

Their goal is to end slavery.

Committed to the dignity and freedom that is the birthright of all humankind, Catholic, Anglican, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, and Orthodox leaders have signed a Joint Declaration of Religious Leaders Against Modern Slavery on World Day for the Abolition of Slavery.

Will you join with them and sign a declaration to end slavery once and for all?

When is our Dai going to address the diseases of our Dawat????
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pope Francis attacks 'diseases' of Vatican in Curia address
By Lucy Pawle and Susannah Cullinane, CNN
updated 8:54 AM EST, Mon December 22, 2014
Source: CNN
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
• Pope Francis addressed the Vatican bureaucracy -- or Curia -- on Monday
• He launched a blistering attack on the "illnesses" within its members
• Francis warned against "vainglory," superiority and loss of compassion
• He referred to the diseases of excessive planning and of "the terrorism of gossip"
(CNN) -- Pope Francis has unleashed a blistering critique of the Vatican bureaucracy -- or Curia -- criticizing its "illnesses" ranging from the "disease of feeling immortal" to vainglory and excessive planning.
In his annual Christmas address to the Curia at the Vatican Monday, the Pontiff warned that "a church that doesn't try to improve is like a sick body."
Francis said suggested that it would be helpful to the Vatican bureaucrats to have a catalog of their illnesses beginning with "this disease of feeling immortal or indispensable."
The "pathology of power," he said, could lead to people believing "they are superior to others and not here for the service to others."
Dear brothers let us be aware and guard against the terrorism of gossip.
Pope Francis
Francis warned against the disease of loss of compassion, which he said afflicted "those who have a heart of stone."
"Those who lose their inner serenity, their vivacity and audacity, to hide behind their papers, becoming like procedural machines rather than men of God. This is dangerous to lose human sensitivity, so necessary in order to cry with those who cry and enjoy with those who enjoy," the Pope said.
Pope Francis referred to the diseases of "excessive planning and functionalism" and of "bad coordination," which he said could occur when members did not collaborate with each other. There was also the risk of succumbing to spiritual Alzheimer's disease and "forgetting the story of salvation," he said, warning that sufferers "lost memory of their encounter with God."
The Pope described the diseases of rivalry and vainglory, and rebuked those who try to court their superiors "inspired by their own egotism."
The disease of gossip, Francis said, he had addressed before -- but insufficiently.

"This is a serious disease that begins simply when people chatter, and it takes over the person, turning the person as a Satan, and in so many cases people are speaking ill about their own colleagues and brothers and sisters. These people haven't got the courage to speak directly, and they speak about others behind their backs," he said. "Dear brothers, let us be aware and guard against the terrorism of gossip."
Pope Francis also appeared to speak to the child abuse scandal that has rocked the Catholic Church, referring to it as the "disease of a closeness."
"This disease also begins from good intentions, but with the passing of time enslaves its members, becoming a cancer which threatens the harmony of the body and causes a lot of evil and scandal, especially towards our small brothers and sisters," Francis said.
Finally, Francis warned against the disease of the mundane -- "of the exhibitionism when the apostle transforms his service in power."
"This is a disease of people who seek tirelessly to multiply power only aimed at calumny, and to defame and discredit others," he said.
Pope Francis concluded: "Dear brothers, such diseases and such temptations are a naturally a danger for each Christian and for each Curia. For each community, for any ecclesiastical movement. They can damage both individually and the community. We have to say that only the Holy Spirit and the soul of Christ, only he can protect us from the disease.
"We have to cure ourselves of these. Let us try to grow together and close to Christ."
In an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour that aired earlier this month, veteran Vatican watcher Marco Politi said Pope Francis had been encountering growing opposition within his own church.
This was mainly due to Francis' efforts at reform since becoming Pope in March 2013, Politi said.
"Within the Church, there is a tough group of conservative bishops and priests and cardinals, and also very traditionalist bishops and cardinals who are practically against the Pope, who are working against the Pope," he said. "They don't like what he wanted to do with the synod about family, to give new possibilities to remarried and divorced people to get the communion, or to have a new look on the homosexual union."

The list of India’s biggest givers in 2014 is out—and the man on top remains unchanged.

Azim Premji has been named the “Most Generous Indian,” according to China’s Hurun Research Institute’s ranking of India’s biggest philanthropists. He was also at the top of the list in 2013.

Between April 2013 and October 2014, Premji, chairman of information technology major Wipro, donated Rs12,316 crore ($1.9 billion)—or 14.3% of his personal wealth—to charity. Much of this went to the Azim Premji Foundation, which he helped establish in 2001. The foundation primarily focuses on education
.

And Premji is far more generous than any of his peers.

Anil Agarwal, the mining baron who is the country’s second biggest philanthropist, spent about Rs1,796 crore ($283 million) during the same period—about seven times less than Premji’s contributions.

India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani spent 0.4% of his wealth on philanthropy, while Shiv Nadar, India’s seventh richest man, gave away 1.66% of his wealth. The estimates were calculated by comparing their donations listed on Harun’s rankings with their net worth according to Forbes.

“It is quiet interesting to note that many entrepreneurs in India consider religious donations as philanthropy. In this context we would have missed many more philanthropists in India,” said Anas Rahman Junaid, publisher at large of Hurun Report India.

Globally, leading philanthropists spent between 2% and 5% of their net worth of philanthropy annually—with Bill Gates and his wife Melinda Gates listed as the top donors, with lifetime giving of $28 billion for various causes.

With just two out of the top 10 richest Indians finding a spot in the top 10 philanthropists of the year, India’s wealthy can definitely afford to be more charitable.

I have seen SMB and now MS declare insane amounts as given to Qardan Hasana. Is it just the announcement or this money every changes hand and local Jmaat gets a whiff of it. Because as far as I know kotharis and these Qasre Mawalis they can announce whatever they want and no one can dare to ask for the money. leave aside common Bohras even aamils who are dependent on the payouts and plum postings cant question there ring masters.

Qardan Hasanah is not an act of charity/philantrophy as the same is "Returnable" and also given for a limited period of time (to the rich NRI sheikhs) against collateral !!
