marriage registration dadhi ,topi and rida mandatory

The one and only free public forum for Bohras. The focus of this forum is the reform movement, the Dawoodi Bohra faith and, of course, the corrupt priesthood. But the discussion is in no way restricted to the Bohras alone.

Respect your "quomi" libaas and traditions. Every country and community has their dresses and culture.

No one force you to do marriage in Bohra. If you still like to do it in Bohra manner then do it properly, the advocate and Aamil are correct in their approach. No compulsion on you, u can marry outside, in court, in Mandir or do what ever you want.

Another proof that bohra maslaq is a deviant sect within Islam. The prophet (saw) has not made these items mandatory for marriage and neither has he fixed a calendar. If bohra maslaq is based on badrijanab bhai's interpretation of the Quran, they are doomed. I would prefer a court marriage over a bohra marriage. A court marriage is more Islamic than a bohra marriage.

Your point of view is completely irrelevant. My nikah already has been performed with bohra rituals ( with juglli dadhi).and for government certificate kothar can't force me to look like talibani.

Beard, head gear and cultural outfit are not condition prescribed in marriage. But they are part of custom and rituals. Should you do you marriage in community then follow these customs/rituals. Outside this, i.e. in court marriage including photo's - are all personal affairs, do per your liking. Court marriage do not require sign of Aamil's.

The Bohra libas is a cultural thing or rather a contrived cultural thing touted as Islamic garb. In neither case it can be deemed as "bohra maslaq", badrijanab's favourite catch-phrase these days. The wearing of the Bohra libas for marriage does not make any more or any less Islamic. But the requirement of a photo in Bohra libas for certificate is indeed a bureaucratic excess which must be condemned.
badrijanab, you must try to be a little more discriminating and stop hiding behind "bohra maslaq" every time you don't have an answer.
anajmi, you too must try to use more finesse rather than use the "unIslamic" sledgehammer every time you see badrijanab.

What are Islamic marriage requirements? Consent, Witnesses and Payment/Agreement of Mahr. That is it. A court marriage satisfies 2 of the 3 conditions. A "bohra maslaq" marriage which throws in other conditions like some of those mentioned and more that haven't been mentioned, actually make it less Islamic than a court marriage. Cultures and rituals are good so long as they do not interfere with the primary requirements. If I have consent, witnesses and mahr agreement but cannot get married (or get a marriage certificate, even though I am now married) because I do not have quami libas, then it is unIslamic. And I am sorry for saying that. Please accept my apology. Thank you.

Legally speaking this is bullshit ! Just send your photos in whatever attire you prefer and then let the Amil reject it, after that demand a written explanation from the Amil and I bet he wont give you one. You can then proceed legally in the court of law, the moment the Amil receives the court summons he will quietly sign the document. Furthermore I do not understand the need of the witness photograph in this process, this is totally absurd and illegal.
