dawoodibohrahelpline.com
Assalamu alaykum,
There is a site call the dawood bohra helpline which is far from being of any help to anyone. They cover topics with responses to question that are inline to wahabism. I ask brother/sisters to beware of this site. Those who don't know will be mislead.
Re: dawoodibohrahelpline.com
This is human nature, but one tries to do what one is forbidden to do unless the forbidding authority is an ultimate authority. Some do it all the same.
So I went and checked out this site. And I felt good after reading what they had to say.
Anything that an inline bohra does not agree with does not automatically becomes inline to wahabism. One needs to look at it without prejudice.
Thank you for making this site known, although that may not have been your intention. I think there is still hope for bohras.
Re: dawoodibohrahelpline.com
Assalamu alayk Br. Anajmi,
Unfortunately, you experienced exactly what I thought would happen to other. Not about the good feeling, but you were reeled into their deception.
If you many of their answers, they go against the majority of what Muslims (not just bohras) in general believe. They demean the position of the Prophet to just a transmitter of Islam, having little qualification for himself. They deny any batini meanings to the Quran and constantly quote from the Quran out of context. They repute the idea of wasilah, even of the Prophet!!!
They disregard the Imams and Dai of before having truthful positions. They do not believe in the Imam at all let alone the Sayedna's postions.
Every response they offer is of one a wahabism/salafi would give, only with the cover of a dawoodi bohra name.
Again brothers/sisters BEWARE!
Re: dawoodibohrahelpline.com
Dear Brother Qiyam,
Please let me know what they have said that goes against what majority of Muslims believe.
About wasilah - Allah says, and I am not quoting verbatim, "there will be no intercession except with our permission"
People generally use the second half of the sentence and fool people by making them believe that they are the ones whose intercession will be accepted on the day of judgement. They generally do not quote the first half where Allah says - there will be no intercession.
Who decides who will intercede and who will not? Only Allah does. Allah may allow the prophet (saw), imams, dais to intercede, he may not. Do you know for sure?
I believe that the prophet (saw) will definitely be the one who will be allowed to intercede as he was sent down as a mercy to mankind. So if the prophet intercedes for us will there be the need for intercession from anybody else? And if Allah does not except the intercession of the prophet, do you think he will accept the intercession of somebody else who is definitely not higher in position in the eyes of Allah than the prophet is.
Re: dawoodibohrahelpline.com
Dear Br. Anajmi
(4:64) We sent not a Messenger, but to be obeyed, in accordance with the Will of Allah. If they had only, when they were unjust to themselves, come unto thee and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.
This ayat of the Quran declares the wasilah and shafat of the Prophet. And the Prophet in many hadiths have declared his Ahlul Bayt as a wasilah for his Ummah. The Prophet (s) has time and time again said to his Ummah to love my ahlul bayt as you love me …and love them because Allah loves them. To love them is their wasilah to them. In that part, the concept of shafat is to ask a more pious person to pray a dua (supplication) for us to Allah because of there piety to Allah and that Allah may grant us shafat (intercession) via this person's dua. The Prophet as well as ahlul bayt practiced this regularly. In Sahifa Sajjidiyah, Imam Zaynul Abidin has over 20 duas (supplications) where he is used as a wasilah and thru his shafat (intercession) is pleading to Allah ta'Ala for particular people (be it our parents, the sick, the poor, etc.) This is what is meant by shafat and wasilah. And this is exactly what that site and wahabis/salafis preach!
Re: dawoodibohrahelpline.com
Correction!!
The last line of my post should be:
"And this is exactly what that site and wahabis/salafis preach AGAINST!"
My apologizes.

Islam Help line is an excellent site. Please appraoch it with an open mind.
Re: dawoodibohrahelpline.com
yeah i think so too.. it is indeed a helpline.
it does give solutions to many practicals questions that crop up in our minds.
as to the more esoteric q & a's that involve the hidden meanings of the quran, who knows? such questions are good for debates.
but if you are looking for a specific answer to a technicality then its a great site to visit.
