Lets be realistic, there is persuasion, but no force. There are ample number of abdes falling over their feet lining up to pay for ziyafats or any other schemes. In addition the mullahs and sheikhs maintain a personal network of wealthy abdes to meet the targets of ziyafats and collections for various schemes.
Majorly these abdes have disposable incomes to shell out for keeping up with showmanship. There is demand and supply at play. One must not feel bad for those who cave in to Kothari demands.
Be it SED tours, ziyafats, pagla, nisbat or nikaahs, whenever I was approached for availing these “barakaats” . I agreed to participate but without a single penny. The pursuasion was sweet to condescending, but one has to stand their ground. They can be dealt with tact. Moreover there are enough abde fools out there, so these sheikhs and mullahs don’t waste their time.

i am talking about the coercian in jamaat office.
they dont give safai chithi without fmb hoob, ramzan hoob, tabudaat hoob, ashara hoob.
i dont take fmb thali, nor do i attend in ramzan ortabudaat.
ashara only one day i attend and that jaman is made by peoples hoob which i pay.
so why they are forcing to pay?

Even in my case and many other I know, who do not agree with various schemes run by local jamaat refused to pay and still did not have any issues. I do not subscribe niether pay for FMB dabbas, qaradan hasana, ziayarat hoob, faakher najwa, tabudaat, ashara or ramzan masalla tax. I have only paid sabeel money and demanded a reciept.

the mullahs, sheikhs and even amils will take turns to pursuade for shelling out something or other. as long as we do not offend them and thier corrupt deceptive ideaology, they wont come after our lives. they act strict with non issuance or raza and safaai chitthi, there are ways to handle these also. one must be prepared to move on without these raza or chitthi or else use influence or legal measure to get them in line.

if one is dependent on raza and chitthi then might as well pay up. rather than whining ! the whole world is full of unfair taxes, charges and payments.

all govt say we are there to govern-u have to pay or bear consequences.
but jamaat attaches deen with it--why hypocrisy?
let them also say that we are also there to govern and rule over u--like it or not.
come out in open with their true colors and not hide behind deen--which is not there in the first place.

I understand your objection, just sharing my views. Kothar actually thumps down the idea into abde minds that; they are the governors of deen, the heaven and hell. Life before and after. Their power is as good as the fear of abde. Kothari guys are businessmen, why would they come out and leak their secret. Would any prudent businessman leak out their USPs or secrets that make them rich. Kothar just like any other businessman around changes their strategy according to customer they are handling. Why only accuse kothar, infact every organized religion works on this strategy.
