London masjid will be turned from cinema theatre into a circus halll on Eid day.

The same spectacle was displayed in North America. There were no salaams prayed other than what SMS prayed. In total there were 3 vasilas - vasila overload. Everything else was rushed. Our nights are short, so we did not have time for anything else.

This is the direction in which the SMS dawat is going, it will progressively increase as time goes by and no one will remember what namaz and duas need to be prayed on Lailalut Qadr. In SMS's dawat it will be accepted that this is how it is done - pray vasheq, listen to vasilas and munajaat. There was no salaam prayed for Lailatul Qadr vidaa also. I just prayed it myself. I try and discuss with my wife the difference between now and when I was young, the importance of actually praying namaz for Panjatan Paak and Aimmat Tahereen, salaams for parents and children. The response I get is that I am stuck in the past and things have moved on and I should accept that what Maula says is correct. But my mind knows that it is not. We have become a community that has only two agendas; Ya Hussain and supplication to SMS.

For this reason a lot of my other family members don't go to masjid or markaz. The oldest person in our family (in her 80s) says that what is going on does not make any sense to her and she prays what her mother taught her. In Ramazan, maatam before namaaz, shahadat bayaan and marasiya everyday are just overkill and for me personally take away what Ramazan is all about; prayers, roza, sabr, khair na kaam, dua.

Thank God Australia was spared the SMS circus due to time difference. We did have some tamash
but it was not that what the North Americans and London abdes had to endure. No namaz!!! What audacity and impudence these mumineen were treated with is unbelievable. In Sydney we had vasila by 52nd after haji salaat and Nisfil Lail. It, as always, a taped recording which we had to endure for over an hour rather than 15 to 20 minutes. Whilst all this was happening, abdes (off their masala) were busy going through their padika (the crunch was audible), chatting away and a lot more were busy on the phones keeping up to date with what is happening around the world. Normally Fajr namaz is preceded by siori but not this time. It was again a time for vasila. This time it was live from Mumbai. The rants went on and on. The stage was set for Moharrum and we felt during all the vasilas that we were here on Ashura mourning Aqua Hussain. After the Fajr namaz no Quran tilawaat and all rushed home.

This guy SMS is holding our religion, our self respect, our heart and our wellbeing at ransom. He thinks he is invincible and it is us who have given him the liberty to think that way. The Australian Courts did not and sent his Amil to Jail. Well let us show him the way. Point our finger to the EXIT. Let us have SMSEXIT.

You have described perfectly our modern Lailatul Qadr experience in MS raj. They are trying to replace MS ( I refuse to call him SMS) in the place that Allah held in our minds. In the past there was unique succor to be obtained from our Lailatul Qadr ibaadat. Each salaam we prayed enabled us to beseech Allah for the showering of His grace and blessings on those things, on our parents, our teachers, our livelihood, our children. Our one on one communion with Him through the munaajat between the prayers created that special connection that carried us through the year. It is lost in the modern tamaasha baazi. I truly miss it. Inshaallah next year I will pray at home using the Fatemi Dawat website. It has excellently laid out instructions and audio for every step. I almost prayed at home this year but then succumbed to pressure from family to go to the masjid.

I went to masjid for maghrib on lailatul qadr, met friends and relatives, then went for Isha, liked decoration done by local boys, prayed 10 salam washek, did gal lotawo and headed back to home.
