Anybody can share validity to this?
The Reformists really do need to have greater information forthcoming about what is going on... does anybody know how many members the Jamaat in Udaipur had originally when the split occurred? Does anybody know how many members it has now? Does anybody know how many people have left recently? Anything?

There is no truth in this. As fas as I know, not a single person has crossed over. We've to be aware that the Kothar has a huge propaganda machinery: when they did not succeed with the "negotiation" lies, they are spreading other lies. Whatever the mafia clergy says must be taken with a sackful of salt. Still better, it must not be considered at all because too much salt can kill you. I'm not a doctor, but I somehow know. :)

DB-L, the reformist population in Udaipur must be around five thousand. We still hold most of the properties, masjids, jamatkhana etc.

Thank you for the info dude - are you in Udaipur yourself?
What is the DB population there? How large a proportion is the Reformist Jamaat? Are more and more people coming over from the other side or not?

So it Is a rumour after all. The propaganda machine relies on the blind faith of the mumineens to spread their lies.

Yes, this has always been the case. The Bohras live in an Orwellian world, where lie is truth, defeat victory, night day, and so on. Blind abdes can be relied upon to echo their Master's Voice.

The DB population must be around 10 thousand, this is just a guess. But remember that over last 20 years Bohras from nearby towns and villages - the wagad area - have been encouraged by the Kohtar to settle down in Udaipur to swell the DB ranks. The wagad Bohras generally are over-zealous, rigid and blinder than blind followers. They do the mafia clergy's bidding with mindless enthusiasm. So much so that the local DBs have come to hate them. It would be fair to say that 20-30% of orthodox DBs are outsiders.
No, their might just be a few cases of anyone crossing over to the reformist side, but many reformists who misguidedly went there have come back.

The kothar system needs to be reformed. Too much power corrupts. Arrogant and ignorant bohras have given this clergy too much power , so they have exploited them to the fullest and made the mumineens homes their homes. every time i attend a db gathering the topic is how is the dai's health ,where is he, what did he eat ,where is muffy going next, where can be the next moharram tamasha, etc. etc etc.

The whole world is Orwellian, not just our little community. Corruption is rife everywhere, from the very top of the Political Class to the very bottom, right through to Corporate Culture in almost every major international company.

We know the Kothar are going to lie - therefore the Udaipur Jamaat has to be ready to counter their false allegations... do you guys have an official website to let people know the truth? Do you have a YouTube channel to show the world how well you are doing? Etc etc... If not, why not? There should be much more going on, over and above, this forum bro.

Stating the obvious (constantly!) is very easy - what are we going to do about it is the question at hand...

the obvious is not very obvious. The bohras cannot be optimestic with a misty optic that kothar has put on their eyes. First bussiness is to let the aam aadmi know that the kothar is no saint. once that cloud is cleared up automatic reactions will take place to do away with such high handedness. many that visit this website do have doubts about this religious leader and are voicing their frustrations and are being consoled by the mere fact that they are not the only ones but there is a whole community out there that share their frustrations. and this is the main foundation of the progressive jamaat.

They are smart and intelligent but that has now turned into cunningness. Logical argument is way beyond.
I'll ask again bro... what is your neck of the woods? What Jammat are you talking about? Are you a Reformist just hearing rumours, or are you a member who is seeing this first hand?

Madrassa is during the evenings and weekends so does not take any time away from kids regular school time-table. Also madrassa is only for small children and is usually finished by the time they are sitting important exams and going to university.

Most Western countries have rules and regulations regarding schooling - you need permission to take time off for long periods, otherwise the relevant authorities can, and do, enforce harsh punishments on the parents. If there is any reason why a childs education is suffering, they most certainly will investigate, and put a stop to it.

If what you're saying is true, then this could be a legitimate angle of attack against the Kothar - please give us all the details you know, so we can look at how action can be taken.
Please reply bro...
