Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) had said:
“Al-Qa'im will not appear except after that every class of people will have ruled over people so that no one may say: “If we have ruled, we will have spread justice” then al-Qa'im will rise to rule with truth and justice.”
Sanad: Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Sa'eed narrated from Ali bin al-Hasan from Muhammad bin Abdullah from Muhammad bin Abu Omayr from Hisham bin Salim who narrated the above hadith

To many, it is a surprise that Donald Trump is the new President of the United States of America. However, when pondering upon this hadith, and understanding how History never fails to repeat itself – it really is no surprise at all.
Many are confused when they look at history and ask, if such and such was so bad, why did the Muslims choose him as a caliph? Why did the Muslims allow him to gain power?
This is exactly how.
The one who has been elected is the Yazid of our time. An open, proud, fasiq. He boasts his transgressions with no remorse. A compulsive liar. A Womaniser. A Racist. A hater of Islam and Muslims. The list goes on and on.
Why did America vote for him? Because society is sick. And when society is sick, and the affairs of leadership is left to them, then it is no surprise they elect the sickest of people.
Hillary is no better. She can be compared to the Mu`awiyah of our time. Very cunning and good with words, with an ability to cover the true agendas with an angelic smile.
Trump & The Republicans can be compared to Bani Umayyah (who openly showed hatred towards the family of the Prophet (sawa)) – and Hillary &The Democrats to Bani Abbas (who publicly showed love towards the family of the Prophet (sawa), but underneath harboured nothing but enmity).
Some would have preferred one or the other, but as Sheikh Nami Farhat Al-Ameli said, “Choosing between Trump or Hillary for President, is the equivalent of choosing between one pair of shoes over another.”
As Allah (swt) state in the Qur’an, the likes of the two-faced Hillary are not fooling the believers.
“And when it is said to them, "Do not cause corruption on the earth," they say, "We are but reformers." Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive [it] not. […] And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers." [But] Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression [while] they wander blindly. (Surah al-Baqarah)
What hurts are those who wear the garb of scholars and say: “Generations of Americans fought with all they had to get the right to vote. Let's honor them by exercising this hard-won right.”
Firstly, these “hard-fought rights” that came through generations of Americans died in wars killing Muslims and other innocent people defending themselves from American aggression.
Secondly, voting for these tyrants is literally supporting the wars that they have, and will, wage unjustly. The blood of Muslims will be on your hands. As shared by a dear brother in his status, Allah (swt) says:
وَلَا تَرْكَنُوا إِلَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا فَتَمَسَّكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّـهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَاءَ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ
"And do not incline towards those who oppress, lest you be touched by the Fire, and you would not have other than Allah any protectors; then you would not be helped." (11:113)
The Messenger of Allah (sawa) also stated:
وعنه (صلى الله عليه وآله) : إذا كان يوم القيامة ينادي مناد: أين الظلمة وأعوان الظلمة حتّى من برى لهم قلماً، ولاق لهم دواة ، قال : فيجتمعون في تابوت من حديد ثمّ يُرمى بهم في جهنّم
"On the day of judgement a caller will call 'where are those who used to oppress and where are those who helped those who oppress even to the extent of sharpening their pencil and inking them'. He said: "He will then gather them in a cage made of iron and throw them in hellfire". (Was'ael ash Shi'a, Tanbih al Khawatir)
So, what is the solution?
Imam Ali (as) gave some valuable advise in the first hadith in Nahjul Balagha:
Amir al-mu'minin, peace be upon him, said: In times of fitnah be like an adolescent camel who has neither a back strong enough for riding nor udders for milking.
In the commentary:
--- “Labun” means a milch camel and "ibn al-labun" means its two year old young camel. In this age the young is neither suitable for riding nor does it has udders which could be milked. It is called "ibn al-labun" because in this period of two years its mother bears another young and begins yielding milk again.
The intention is that during fitnah a man should behave in such a manner that he may be regarded of no consequence and ignored. No need should be felt for his participation in either party. This is because during mischief only dissociation can save from molestation. Of course, when the clash is between right and wrong it is not permissible to keep aloof nor can it be called fitnah: but on such occasions it is obligatory to rise up for the support of right and suppression of wrong. For example, during the battles of jamal and Siffin it was obligatory to support the right and to fight against the wrong. ---
Why should we of any benefit to either party? It is best one is of no benefit to either, and save our souls on the day of Judgement. There is no “lesser of two evils” when it comes to these elections.
Now we wait and see what Trump will produce.
May Allah (swt) hasten the reappearance of our Imam (aj).
