Mufaddal More-la visited Udaipur on 19th October for a few hours. A special lift was installed to take More-la upstairs. And of course the mohllas were decorated with lights and when More-la came, the devotees went nuts. This is the state of Bohra "Muslims" in the Hijri year 1444.

*बराअत मुशरिकों का अमल है। हक़ का दाई किसी कि बराअत कि बजाय दीन और दावत से जुड़ने के लिए आवाज़ देता है, एक सच्चे दाई के लिए पूरी क़ौम एक फैमिली की तरह होती है, सिर्फ़ शफ़ीक़ बावा कह देना, या कहलवाना और होता है और इसे साबित करके दिखाना और होता है। अफ़सोस पिछली कई सदियों से दावत का कुनबा बिखरता जा रहा है। हर कोई अपने अपने हिस्से का टुकड़ा लेकर अलग होता जा रहा है। सिमटती हुई क़ौम की किसी को फ़िक्र नही है।*

*इसकी सबसे बडी वजह दाई और उनकी फैमिली का दीनी और दावत के मामलों में दिलचस्पी न होकर सिर्फ़ और सिर्फ़ सियासी लोगों से नज़दीकी, सरमायदारों से दोस्ती, और माफियाओं से गठबंधन है। अल्लाह ही बेहतर जानता है कि आगे और कितने बुरे दिनों से गुज़रना बाक़ी रह गया है।*

actually that's not quite true. my mum had taken an educational loan for my studies in 2000.

My guess would be that the local jamaat has sourced majority of the funds distributed via Kardan Hasanah. Muffy does donate some money to the Kardan funds out of his loot from the locals he collects during his visit.

'मोजिज़े' का लफ़्ज़ 'आजिज़ी' से निकला है। यानी अक़्ल जिसे समझने से आजिज़ हो वो मोजिज़ा है। लेकिन आज के बाबाओं के चमत्कार या तो सुनियोजित प्रचार है या आँखों का धोखा है या अंधा यक़ीन है जो हर इत्तेफ़ाक़ को चमत्कार समझ लेता है।

सवाल ये है कि क्या (नबियों के अलावा भी) मोजिज़ा किसी के हक़ पर होने की ज़मानत है? और अगर ऐसा है तो ऐसे तथाकथित मोजिज़े तो हर धर्म के बाबा दिखा रहे हैं। मेरे बचपन के एक दोस्त नामचीन ज्योतिष हैं। उनके मानने वालों में कईं मशहूर फ़िल्मी और सियासी हस्तियां शामिल हैं। उनके चमत्कारों के भी कईं चर्चे हैं। लेकिन दोस्त होने की वजह से मैं हक़ीक़त से वाक़िफ़ हूं।

बहरहाल जिन को ख़ुद पर भरोसा न हो वो अपने चाहने वालों को मोजिज़ों के छलावे से लुभाते रहते हैं। दूसरी तरफ़ आम इंसान को भी ऐसा कोई संकटमोचन बाबा चाहिए जो चमत्कारिक ढंग से उनके सारे दुख दूर कर दे।

I would not hazard to guess the result of a case.

However, I hope that the truth comes out and the community gets to see it. Justice Ahmadi had said that SKQ and family had shown him some documents that made him feel that SKQ was on haq. I hope the community can see and decide for itself.

The full medical reports and the testimony of all the witnesses, questions and answers about the "nass audio and video", the nass letter, and other relevant things, so that people can evaluate for themselves.

Even the original "Saifi mahal court case" which I have heard mentioned as one that SKQ "has won". Was there even such a case, and if so, how relevant it is to this event? I have not seen any documentation on that case. Hope that all that is laid open for the community. FD needs to do it if it wants to convince even a small fraction of the community of its stand.

My prayer is that the Judge decides based on the truth, without any fear or favor of anybody, and explains the reasons for his decision in his written judgement, as well as makes the multi-media documentation available

while i can understand their sentiment, maybe a mannat, IMHO, this is like people rolling towards Balaji temple and again, IMHO, such mannats should be avoided

there are other ways to thank whomever you prayed too, for intercession, like maybe do their ziyarat, maybe sponsor a ziarat for someone else etc.. but i feel that this walking/crawling/rolling etc should be avoided. i am not going to get into a debate of this being an Islamic/Non-Islamic practice, because with my limited knowledge, i think it clearly falls under the latter

once again, i respect their sentiment, but perhaps they could have been dissuaded from doing... but then again, if the only person who can stop them has happily given his "blessings".. what more can i say

I want to sympathise with these stupid, misguided souls but cannot bring myself to do so. It is because of people like these we've clowns like Mufaddal. To me, this crawling on all fours is the worst act of slavishness I've seen Bohras stooping to. This is true, unmistakable regression--it is as if the evolution never happened. From being upright, dignified humans -- the ashraful makhlukaat -- Bohras are reverting to being bonobos. Regression it may be but it is no mean achievement. The mafia clergy has accomplished this feat in a span of one generation. Contrast this with the evolutionary process, it took millions of years for quadruped monkeys to evolve into biped humans! I had given up on Bohras a long time ago but there was always some hope. Even that hope is dashed now.

Many years ago, Terry Fox, a Canadian cancer victim ran from the Atlantic to the Pacific coasts to raise funds for cancer research. I am sure such acts are replicated in other countries for various humanitarian causes. Did I miss that the tract by these two individuals is to raise awareness of some cause or what appears to be a stunt to highlight four-ped devotion that reflects thousands of their ilk?

from what i understood, they had taken a mannat that if their wishes get fulfilled, they will crawl on all 4 to go for Ziarat
