The Spiritual Significance of Messiah Jesus

The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him."<br>4:171<p>Jesus is described in the Quran as the Messiah, God's word, and a spirit from God.<p>The word Messiah is significant, it means annointed - Jesus was unlike any other Messengers of God, he was the annointed Prophet? What could this exactly mean?<p>Jesus is called the Word of God. In Islam, this of course is fundamentally different than the Christian perception of the "Word". <br>Most Muslims will say Jesus was called the Word because God said "be" and brought him into creation. But Jesus himself was called the Word. What is the signifance of this?<p>
