what is referred to as 'Kadam Bosi'...

I am sure that you have heard this question before.

I have asked a 'knowledgeable' bohra and there wasn't much answer... except.. he doesn't tell people to do it, which i don't agree with .. coz silence is one form of approval.

If we are the follwers of Ahlul Bayt (as)... then how can we possibly endorse things of that nature??? Imam Ali (as) ... in the Nahjul Balagha gets upset at a man for getting down from the horse with head bent... where does this practise come from...? and how can it be endorsed?

All the masoomeen (as) are the personification of humility .. and so which imam's practise is the Sayyedna Burhannudin adopting?

Would greatly appreciate some feedback.

Thank you brother Tahir for pointing those threads out. However, i have a bit of a problem, and Insha Allah you will be able to help me with that.

I am NOT a sunni, so any sunni ahadith are not HUJJA upon me. I don't see Kadam Bosi as worshipping, as ONLY Allah (swt) knows what is in one's heart while doing anything. Thus i don't represent the views of some of the posters that it's shirk and so on.

As a shia, i am asking another who believes in the concept of Imamate the following:

1. Islam teaches us to be humble, and that all men are created equal. We won't go into the fact that Imams are created from noor and so on ... as it will just divert from the topic at hand.

2. Whatever little i have read about the 12 imams (six of them we share.. assuming you are a bohra)... they ALWAYS shunned the fact that others would even bow down to them.

The above is my position.

What i would like to know is.. whether the brothers/sisters who believe Sayyedna Burhannudin to be their 'daii'... can provide some evidence of an event where such a practise was condoned by the Masoomeen (as).

Unfortunately, as proof, i can't show you from Bohri literature, coz it's not freely available. However, i could show you from Nahjul Balagha, which is a book that is deemed 'reliable' by the Bohras.
