- Mass marriage: Udaipur creates history again
- Dawoodi Bohra Jamat-Udaipur alongwith the Bohra Youth Association, Udaipur, organized a mass marriage programme starting 11th to the 14th of May 2010. Seven couples got married. The programme was very well organized and was a huge success. This was the 13th round of mass marriages in Udaipur since the fist historic one on the 16th of March 1975 in which more than a 100 couples participated. more

- Succession disputes, i.e., claims and counter-claims, are a familiar theme in Islamic history. As soon as the Prophet breathed his last in 10 H./632 C. E., the Muslim community was divided on the question of his succession as the leader of the community or of the proto-Islamic Medinan state that had evolved during the last years of the Prophet’s life. In contra distinction to the Sunnis the Shia asserted Ali’s succession both in political as well as in religious spheres. - I was born in India in a small village more than 40 years ago into a Bohra family. I came with my family to Malaysia when I was only 4 years old. I grew up like any normal Bohra surrounded by the richness of the Bohra culture and rituals. My religion was primarily restricted to namaz and learning to read the Qur’an. more
